I installed these using MO2, i get these pop up every time I load/start a game. I've been trying to find a solution for this for days to no avail. I tried copying these directly to the game folder, but i think MO2 doesn't touch the game folder's data files. Can someone please point me to the right direction? thank you

Skyrim SE or LE? (you're asking in the LE adult download section and it would be better to ask in tech support)

At first glance I would say you don't know yet how to use MO2.

Check this topic:

Even if you are on LE it helps to learn how to use MO2 correctly.

If SUM & Co can't find their json files, then this might be of interest:

(taken from @Just Don't MO2/SE guide)

Basically check your Overwrite for json files and create a mod for those:

Spoiler

11. Mod Organizer 2 - A second look
So that was a quick test of the most basic features. After this you’ll want to add new mods to
enhance textures, fix bugs, improve gameplay, try different things and so on. But to do that
without breaking your game you need to do it properly. So first things first, check your
Overwrite in MO.
You’ll see there are some files in there (probably since the SSE Edit step if you went for using
the QuickAutoClean executable with the cleaning guide). I mentioned before that keeping a
clean Overwrite is important, and that’s a constant for using MO properly. As this was your first
game session you’ll have a couple of files in there. You’ve done some steps to manage files in
Overwrite. This is the same thing but from now on you’ll need to judge what to do with these
files. Up next there are some methods that may work for you.

11.1 Managing files in Overwrite from now on
Like you did with BodySlide or FNIS files, there are mainly two ways to go here. You can even
mix and match different methods. The key here is to keep a clean Overwrite, but also know
where these files are (in case you need to remove/edit them later).

11.1A Make a new empty mod and store your files in there
Most files that go into your Overwrite at this point will be .ini, .log, .txt, .json and similar files for
the different mods you add to your game. For example Fuz Ro Doh created its .ini in
...\Overwrite\SKSE\Plugins, right? And if you did some animation alignments in Sexlab you may
have a SL profile .json file in there. So what I recommend here is:

1. Create a new empty mod, as usual give it a descriptive name like “Config and log files” or
“Mod cache”, etc.

2. Keep that mod enabled near the bottom of the modlist.

3. Whenever you see files in Overwrite (MO will give you a Notification about it) open
Overwrite, check its content and if it makes sense move these files into your assigned
mod.

4. The only caveat here is if some mod updates the way its files are named. In which case
you’ll probably see the config or log files for that mod in Overwrite again, and the
previous version in your mod should be obsolete. This is a rare occurrence and it should
be a quick task to move/remove files.

11.1B Move files from Overwrite into each mod folder
Again, this is a valid option. You can open Overwrite (ideally in Explorer) and check each file in
there, then move them to the corresponding mod folders.
I usually put some files in each mod folder and then keep others in a dedicated mod. Like I said,
the goal here is to keep the Overwrite empty and to know where to find these files if you ever
need to check them.

NONONO! Your using MO2 to prevent any mod files to end up in skyrim/data.

MO2 also uses a virtual install system, means if you install mods that require files from other mods they won't be able to find those, because they are in MO's virtual install folder and not in skyrim/data.

To enable mods to find  each others files you will need to install them all via MO2.

Thank you for the reply.

It is for Skyrim LE, and yes I am new to MO2 since I ditched vortex a week ago for forcing me to reinstall the game 5 times or more, I cannot remember now.

I am learning MO2 now slowly, it's just that installing Skyrim Utility Mod and the pop up for system.json file had me stumped for days now. I tried watching all MO2 tutorials I could find in YT, or searching in google but I could not find anything similar (or I may just be dumb af)

Which brought me here, since I can't find the answer, why not ask those smarter than me.

So basically I installed it like this. The files did go to the staging folder of MO2.

I did look for them in the overwrite

I already created a mod for it.

yes, I knew that, I was just willing to try anything.

I can see it in MO2's virtual data

SUM's system.json is there, which is why I cannot understand why I am getting the pop up.

I also try making a new game every time I make a bit of change with the mods to see, but the pop up is always there.

The install seems to be in order. I'm not familiar with SUM (I think I installed it once to try POP and it worked as expected without any additional steps). Does all the system.json files exist in their respective subfolders? Does it happen in a new game or existing save, both?

Only thing I would check is if the game is launched using the SKSE executable in MO (in the exe list I see "Skyrim" is still listed which is the default exe, although this would cause its own set of problems, so I guess this is not an issue here). Perhaps the SKSE exe is one of the shortcuts in there?

Yes, I'm here. How can I help?

YES! Hi, I installed Skyrim Utility Mod using MO2 for Skyrim LE, I am assuming correctly

SUM.jpg.b7127ec3d5e7e3da6760d33c83bc1fe7.jpg

But every time I start a New Game, or Load a Save

1792893407_SUMerror.jpg.fa73f09b0e4db4e650dd3e6b7b2d9855.jpg

I get this pop up, then a second later

1845438375_sumready.jpg.0e23e268ec877fbc4c994a2066b13be5.jpg

I get this on the top left.

This happens every time I enable a mod with System.json like Skyrim Utilit Mod, Prison Overhaul Patched and SD Patches.

I can see the System.json file on MO2's virtual data

So I could not understand why the pop up occurs.

For now I am trying to find out how to find out how to fix this for Skyrim Utility Mod, since I am assuming that I could do the same for SD Patches and Prison Overhaul Patched

Thank you for the assist

No it did not.

Okay, let me rephrase that.

I ditched vortex, because the way I add and/or remove mods using vortex messed up my game data folder and save so much that I had to reinstall it over and over.

like I said before

One thing I noticed, which may not help with your specific problem but, you appear to have Netimmerse Override installed, and in another screen shot I saw Racemenu installed.  If you are using Racemenu, that already has Netimmerse Override included, so you can uninstall Netimmerse override as it may cause problems to have both or it may simply just be redundant.

It looks to me like you have SUM installed correctly. Please post a problem report to the SUM support thread, if you have not already done that. Thanks!
