Calcifire Posted September 12, 2024 Author Posted September 12, 2024 ::SIDE NOTE:: There is always someone making bug reports immediately after a new DLC drops and breaks my game. So I've elected to not wait for Lithia to update Lustful Void and just shit out an update for you crazy kooks. Normally, I never promise a bug free experience because of how much I suck and coding(I'm and artist, not an engineer). BUT, I will allow you guys to cut your teeth on an alpha release tier mess. Check the download screens, divers. the tepid 3.13 version update is ready for play testing. Fingers crossed I don't bork your saves. 5
Adam Jones Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Just a suggestion based on my last play through as Stable Celest, where I ended up actually spawning rather close to the Sol system, but perhaps for the Human subspecies and related empires there should be some kind of unique event for finding Earth? I know the Green Court lore mentions that Earth was destroyed, but perhaps it was only destroyed in that it was made inhospitable, or simply mostly inhospitable, with possibly even some kind of even chain based around trying to restore Earth back to its former glory, though what that means exactly would depend on who takes control of it, since all the different empires would probably have their own separate, sexy goals for it. The Green Court for example can go about trying to make Earth into a new Gaia world, repopulating it as much as possible, even if that means engaging in even more incest to boost their numbers, leaning into the "Inbred" trait they have. Or Celest can return home after her long journey, finding Earth long since destroyed and opt to try and repopulate the planet with all the copies of herself, or try to even make it a new home for any remaining members of her pet species. 2
Calcifire Posted September 14, 2024 Author Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) On 9/13/2024 at 12:26 PM, Adam Jones said: perhaps for the Human subspecies and related empires there should be some kind of unique event for finding Earth? A worthwhile idea, but would required a dedicated endeavor. Firstly, I would have to squash all of the possible vanilla occurrences of Earth. And, I mean, you know. The nuked roach version of Earth shall be missed, but whatever. There's at least 8possible different Sol Systems that can spawn into the game, and I've never looked into what it would take to sideline them all in favor of my own. Could be an easy job, then just write up a page of text that dynamically changes based on which empires finds it first, and bob's your uncle. On the other hand, the only reason why I've never pursued anything like this before is because of how I like to try and keep things open ended for the role players. Even as the loremaster for this lil' corner of the internet, the only thing I have written down in my journal is, "It was a bad, mmkay?". The truth could be literally anything. Earth coulda been cracked in half by the moon, it coulda been environmentally hubristic in nature, maybe we were fleeing from an alien invasion. So I likely won't go through with anything, but just so people can feel a little more satisfied, I'll publicly work through my thoughts on the idea. Spoiler -Celest is just an AI trained off of the brainwaves of an unremarkable woman. She is a wealth of information, but nothing detailed enough to actually locate Earth with. I doubt anyone in the comments section can precisely tell us how many miles away our planet is from the Sun without looking it up, much less at what angles our recognizable constellations can be found. Celest would be looked at as a nice time capsule by the descendants of humanity. A treasure trove of trivial information. Despite evolving well beyond her humanity by this point, her fun facts about life on Earth would be invaluable. If she stumbled up it, she would likely be able to recognize the Sol System, assuming the system is in a recognizable condition. -The Elves claim to have a 50,000 year long archive documenting their exodus from Earth, but that's only as true as it can be believed. I can guarantee you that they've tried to find Earth, based on their records, and have failed multiple times. Running down esoteric rabbit holes from cross referenced documents that lead nowhere. Every decade a newly zealous aristocrat with privileged access to the oldest libraries cracks the code on the true location. For real, for real, no cap, this time guys. ON GOD! -The Ivory Lineage probably have the best bet at finding it. Given their origins, there is a pretty decent chance that they have some kind of ancient black box from the mothership who's flight logs they could theoretically use to back trace the location of Earth. Now, granted, they would have to be able to solve the three body problem accurately enough to precisely calculate a 50,000 year long journey through space. I don't want to start any conspiracies, but the Ivory Fleet does seem to have an unreasonable amount of luck finding other human subspecies. Maybe they know something. Maybe they've been back tracing their steps and recollecting the populations they seeded with breakaway factions from a long-long time ago. Or maybe the Diaspora of Man was less of a shotgun blast and more of a flotilla that circumnavigated the galaxy together. Breaking off from the main and claiming habitable worlds as they went. Who knows... -Marauder/Pirates and the terrestrialized Crimson Dogs don't have an interest alignment to be collectively concerned about Earth. They're just too far removed from their roots. Their only mythological ideas are of what desert life was like before the Ivory Lineage showed up and civilized them. Oral traditions that weren't stamped out are as old as they go. So my current sentiment is that the answers to all these questions deserve to be included as a story content update for the Green Court. Whenever that is. Just for the sake of fun, I'm leaning on the idea that someone else has already beaten them to the punch. A previously unseen human subspecies to interact with. But that's as much digging as I am willing to do for now. I'm just gonna put this idea on my todo shelf until I decide on what I want later. A "Return to Earth" questline would be cool, but I'm still not 100% sure I want to go in that direction. Edited September 20, 2024 by Calcifire 3
Katz Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 (edited) A bug, or at least an unintended interaction with Stable Celest. You can avoid the doomsday scenario by moving your capital to a shitty planet you don't care about before event conclusion. A better idea would be to destroy ALL planets that house Primitive Species, I think. Also: The tooltip for the event reduction reads this : Edited September 19, 2024 by Katz 1

Nah, she only set up the dead hand switch on the Capital World. You can totally grab a colony and NTFO. It's a role playing rts game, you can choose to die or not die. The final event does have a beyond the grave ambiguity to it, though. Honestly, it wouldn't be too too much trouble to add in an epilogue "thank elon musk that's over with" event if you were able to colonize a planet before the timer ran out. I'll add it to my todo list. NOW WHAT I REALLY OUTTA DO, is go through the trouble of making a lite version of the situation with a dynamic activation condition, that would basically never end. I'd tweak the numbers so that Celest could manage to handle more than 5 measly pops before becoming overwhelmed(what is that like 2.5 billion dicks at once? pfft, that's nothing. I've seen OnlyFans with bigger followings than that. Wouldn't a hyper intelligent A.I. be able to satisfy more like 12 billion simps at once?). XD XD XD XD XD. In all serious, it probably wouldn't be based at all on pop count anymore. It also wouldn't have any staged events as you climbed up the ladder. Though I would prefer to have 2-3 random events that could fuck with the slider. "Celest had a moment of weakness and accidentally sets herself to 'Encourage Raiding' for the next 10 years" and whatnot. Just to keep things annoying(talk about ludonarrative harmony), but it would be generally up to the player to decide how much of their research should be taking a hit. 16 hours ago, Katz said: Also: The tooltip for the event reduction reads this : IS THAT WHERE THAT GOES TO?!?!? Lel thanks, I guess my easter egg worked like a charm. I had never done Situation Log modding before. Most things in Stellaris require a ".nametag", ".descriptiontag", and a ".tooltiptag" but Situations also require a ".typetag". I had no idea where that text would ever display or how to find it. I'll have it fixed for my next eventual update. In other news, here's a TEASER on what I've been cookin'... I'm finally getting around to putting that fucking "interspecies human" trait to work. I only made that thing for future proofing my ambitions, but I'm somewhat glad to say that based on my codework so far, that the trait is going to become obsolete. I can just run my shit straight from the humanoid species category. In my current dev build, I have 4 of the human hybrid event species ready to go. I'll will admit, though, I'm kind of torn. Obviously I won't be able to support every single possible combination of humanoids, but I will have to RnG restrict the ones that I do. There are just so many damn fucking variables to contend with. I simply can't wrap my head around it all. So my list of available combos will include "Elves, Void Born, Cowgirls, Molten Born, and Giants". Examples in the spoiler bellow. For the eagle eyed dataminers... Ever since the Paragon DLC released, I've actually had all of the art assets for the Void Hybrids sitting dormant inside the mod files. So yes, yes. Finally the dark-haired big-titty Void girls will be coming to the game official. But no TBA, as usual folks. Spoiler Kk, I'm not gonna say too much but. The Half Giant Molten borns with the gilded freckles came out looking GORGEOUS. omg. That's all I wanted to say. I'll abandon everyone else to speculation on what species the Crimson Dogs have to fuck to get the shortstack variants. 4
Katz Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Something is broken with the Vivienne event chain. Electing her as CEO has no further effect, as far as I can tell. 1

They do this alot and is what sucks the most about modding for a actively developed game. KK, I have uploaded a fix(unfortunately it wont work on current saves. BUT if Vivienne is already your ruler then you can run "event babe_paragon_event.6" into the command line and see if that does anything. otherwise I know a fresh game will work) Not to get too technical, but for some reason Vivienne was losing her "leader_flag" after getting hired. which is dumb. but i just reassigned her flag again after getting hired. So now when the game asks, is the current ruler vivienne? itll get a yes and fire the final event.

Viking_Berzerker Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Oh hey I found Earth! And I forced the Pre-made Empires to spawn. Oh I wish there where an event that let me taunt them! Karl78 Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Sorry in advance for the bug report dump. All tests were made with just "Lustful Void" and "Calcifires Portrait Pack DIRECTORS CUT" enabled. (I'm playing on linux so that also can be a problem) 1. Kitty Cat Empire missing both its origin and ethics 2. In place of the Fallen keepers spans either a playboy fallen empire or a giant fallen empire 3. For some odd reason, the Dark Tau empire generate with 3 identical subspecies Thank you for coming to my TedTalk. Jokes aside, love what you do and hope to see what you cook up next. 1

I'll have a fix for the next update(I'm not too concerned cause their whole point is to go boom) 2:: Seems like when they get assigned the Cyborg trait, it resets their portrait. Not a problem, I can fix that one too 3:: This is also true in the vanilla game. When the game starts, the Hegemony leader automatically colonizes it's neighboring worlds and then gives the species on those planets unique identities. Now, i don't know why they do this, which means it's a bad idea to go "correcting" their mistakes. 2

Skarrbringer Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 (edited) Love this mod! Would you be interested in making a patch for WP's Galaxy Portraits? PS: All gender options for synthetics? Edited October 24, 2024 by Skarrbringer I realized synthetics don't have the gender traits that set their leaders to one gender. I would love this for my Rogue Servitors. Also giant synthetics all female flag in the empire screen is broken, other than the ruler all other leaders become male 1

I'm pretty sure I already do this for the humans and giants. Also, the playboy-bunny bunnies don't have any male assets to begin with. The reason I think you are asking this is probably a misunderstanding. Robots don't have genders. I'm not being bigoted, that's the way the game works. I don't think we are afforded the modding privileges to add genders to robots. 1
