Well if MS didnt get rid of there QA and bug testing branches within the company instead of leaving it upto users to find problems it would probably be more of a stable software

In theory that'd be correct. But, MS has far to many diversity hires that not only don't know shite about reality, but their coding will actually break hardware. But it's never their fault cause they checked all the oppressed check boxes. Which is far more important.

At least the times I have done it before it didnt automatically progress it wasnt a big deal to me anyway easily resolved, next time I wont touch any controls and just see if it automatically works or not.

Ha ha up till 3 months ago I was still using windows 7 ultra and it's only because I got a cheap copy of win 11 and Chrome wouldn't update that I changed took forever to get all the bloatware out of that shit pile

As I mentioned in a post later after that iv learnt to not move my camera at all in this mod during dialogue scenes else it can cause it to lose the correct angle for dialogue choices and speech when ever a dialogue scene starts. Just allow the dialogue camera to do its thing how JB as set it up per dialogue scene.

Good point the only thing left really is to learn Linux which wouldn't be a problem for me as iv spent time with that before in the past learning it.

The removal of local accounts is the red line for me.  Fortunately I have been using & working with Linux since 94, and on my old ASUS ROG desktop I have been playing with wine w/ Fallout 4.  So far it is pretty "choppy" but runs (which is literally amazing because back in 96'ish it was barely usable).  I need to probably install Lutris or something that can roll with Proton-GE which apparently has it's own rolled wine with fixes for gaming.

I have worked in software development for over 30 years, the problem is 95% of the people in the field are morons who have zero interest in building software, it doesn't matter if they are white, black, brown, female, or male.

 

The real issue is corporations do not want to pay people what they are worth, and the result is people won't make the effort or you can't afford someone qualified.  It's very difficult to weed out people who actually have the skills and interest to do the job, I have literally had people who had stand-ins do interviews, used Google, and now I guarantee they are using ChatGPT to answer interview questions or tests.

I think JB just forgot to remove that option as Dallas and Patti have been removed from Nora's route in a recent update. He will probably see your post and remove that option.

I recommend it I have tested Proton-GE before when I spent time inside a Linux DE, I think it was back in 2017 or 18 from what I remember when I first properly used Linux with a DE over the top of it and learning it and not being scared of the terminal, my issues I had with Linux though over time at least my Personal Experience things have always been tempermental with inconsistencies like one moment a program would work or a game would work then the next moment something didnt work or decided not to run properly despite no changes being done to the system and this was on multiple different distro I tried. I did land back in Win11 but with a usable group policy and that was enough for me everything has worked and things have been okay

 

Generally my experience with Linux was mostly usable and okay I just used to get annoyed with having to jump through extra hoops and hurdles every time I wanted something to run or work even with Steam and Proton not everything is as simple as pressing the play button like the "online linux influencers" have people believe, and even with Lutris or Heroic Games Launcher which both those softwares I find just buggy. But I have no where near the experience you have with PCs spent most of my life with them but its mostly self taught 

I'd use Linux more and more of a daily driver if it didnt frustrate me from what I have mentioned

Generally like I have mentioned I have had Steam installed in Linux and there are a lot of games that do actually just work by pressing the Play button once the correct Proton version is set and "Enable Steam Proton for all Titles" is turned on in Steam settings. but the moment you step outside of Steam thats when the manual configurations and tinkering begins which I dont mind doing but yeah per-game plus like I said I get frustrated when something works perfectly fine one minute and then doesnt work the next day or sometimes the next time I try to use it. MO2 UI issues I remember being able to solve by turning on "fontsmooth=rgb" enviromental variable with Winetricks it fixed the text being broken but there was still a few quarky bits to it as you said, not 100% a fix. You got in-game statistic readings with something like MangoHUD similar to what RivaTuner and MSI Afterburner does inside Windows.

 

I'v not tried the latest Ubuntu's the distros I used to use was Fedora I first started out with years ago then I tried mainline Arch for a while before using something like Endeavour as I kinda got lazy and couldnt be bothered to do the manual Arch install if I wanted to reinstall the system. I have tried Ubuntu based systems just not Ubuntu itself

Yeah, I have been addicted to Ubuntu ever since I left Red Hat Linux 9 (yeah not Enterprise).  I think at the time the messaging was "we are going Enterprise" and Fedora wasn't fully baked yet.  I believe it was a response by the community over the we are going Enterprise messaging, and I already made the decision to just leave.

 

The only thing I don't like about Ubuntu is it's really one product, and part of that product is to push snap.  I don't like to use snap for my "server", but I would be fine or even prefer it (or flatpak) for my "desktop".  But Ubuntu doesn't seem to really distinguish the difference fully, I'll probably end up going Debian on my next server rebuild.
