What I usually do is run a vanilla profile through character creation and just before the vault exit, create a hard save, and then use that hard save for all future character creations.  Mainly I don't want to run through the vault every time, but the start up of all the papryus hungry on-quest-init scripts feels less of a burden.  At character creation your probably competing with all of the vanilla quests flagged at start as well as all of the mods. 

I play with the Start Me Up Redux so I don't bother with the vault anymore, plus I use it for my Norita route play throughs

 

I'm trying a reinstall of NG with your all's advice, I wonder if on the modlist putting the patches and bugfixes under Nuka Ride was possibly causing an issue.  I've moved Nuka Ride to below absolutely everything, even the AAF Ultimate Patch and any other bugfixes and see if that works.

Whopsy. Got another bug  JB. seems like one of the entry turrets(possibly more) in the Galactic Zone (Nora's path) didn't get fully reset to 'non-hostile'.

And I would upload a picture I took of it, but every time I try, the site just gives me an 'Invalid image detentions' error. So I'll try to describe it as best as  can:

I chose Michelle to get the surgery for Gage. But the laser turret on the underside of that building lip, watching that entry point where the scooter is parked; Starts to shoot at Michelle every time she attempts to walk up to where Gage is standing. I think the Mr. Frothy robots are also responding in a hostile way to her as well, as I heard their 'combat speech' kick in.

Again, I don't know if this shows, but here is the picture:

AAF Ultimate Patch.  That's probably your issue to be honest.  I've always, always had issues in almost every playthrough regardless of NG or OG, when using UAFFP

I think load order probably plays a bigger role, I am going to assume that since BSAs are tied to plugins that plugin order also drives the search order for files in BSAs (but that's a pure assumption, I have no idea), and load order probably dictates at-start quest initialization as well.  I haven't unpacked BSAs (to confirm), but I don't get the impression that there is a whole lot of conflicts with the assets.  But generally I have had NR after AAF & Animations and before it with no real issue in MO2.

 

What your describing could be BakaMaxPapyrusOps, by default it only does 100 operations per frame, the tweak is to boost it to 500 (some folks have gone higher).  So you might think it is hung and it might come back responding maybe 30 or 40 seconds later, no idea if you waited that long.  X-Cell comes with replacement memory allocators and scrap heap fixes (for Papyrus stacks) as well.

 

I don't know what your mod loadout is, but if you are using only recommended/required then it should be reasonable lag after character creation unless we are talking a potato PC.  The more mods, especially those with script-heavy at-quest-start events could be laggy at this point.

That's in the MCM, under 'Music Settings', Block Nuka Ride Music

 

Edit: you can also stop interior music as well under the music settings

 

Edit2: So you're wanting to not have any music at all?  That would be in pause menu, under settings, audio, and then music.  Move the slider all the way to the far left.  Above is another suggestion that gave a link to some sliders as well:

Ok so good news, it did manage to freeze up and crash again after trying to start a new game

 

However, it did do the auto save immediately after character creation and before AAF tried loading.  When I started the game up again I did Continue and loaded the save, I was able to start and get the game going afterwards with Nuka Ride installed on NG.

Just found out that the Tactical Tablet is incompatable with JB's mod. i was in the game trying to put on the big earrings and i couldn't pull out the tablet. but once i deleted the mod it worked fine.

A 'yes', 'no', or 'something like that', answer would suffice. Just like everyone else, I don't want any spoilers either. This story is just too damn captivating for it's own good.

Patti and Dallas didn't exist in Nora's route, so yes, when I go back to writing for Nora I'll have to do some special quests to introduce them, the Dunmores, and everything else I've been adding.

 

I still couldn't write a single line for Nora yet. When I finish with Norita on her quests I want to write Slavers. And when I'm done with Slavers I'll be back with Nora's route after almost two years of absence.

 

The process of creating the quest is frustratingly slow. You can have it all written in a few days, but scripting could takes weeks to months.

I use Tactical Tablet and my character wears earrings. The Tactical Tablet uses a special slot used for pipboys, so I don't see how my earrings would affect it. If anyone else reports it I will take a look at it.

I use the Pipboy 2000. Sure it may be really old, and it may not have as many functions, but you can change the slot you use in the MCM (I set it to use Slot 57). And it works perfectly fine with NR.

Tactical tablet works fine been using it for ages with NR. Try disabling it in its mcm menu. Save the game and quit. Load your game again and enable it in its mcm. See if that works.

I use pip-pad, color screens and other cool gadgets and never had an issue with NR.   In the help section of that mod it did state if any issues to go into MCM and uninstall - wait for that for finish then go back into MCM and reinstall and that has always worked for me, the Tactical Pad may act the same way.   I have occasional had an issue similar to what you mentioned where I was unable to open it through any method - the above fix worked every time.   A save and reload might also fix the issue.   As JB noted - all these use the Pipboy slot which should have no issues with other clothing.   

I noted many pages back that the earrings use the same slot as some of the other items in NR and can not be worn with them, I forget now which it was, but easily found if you check your current wardrobe in f4edit and see what slots they are using.

When I started the 'THE Special Girl' quest and spoke to Gage, he just stood there and stopped moving. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?Photo27.png.71789cbc80a00062a7fe44376d5d512c.png

Check your quest list. Maybe you're supposed to do something first maybe with the Overboss or something else.

Something to load very, very last. Loot puts NR way too high in the list. Don't let it do that.

Set up rules so that absolutely everything loads before NR and it's patches.

Yes, only the NR patches, should load after NR, nothing else.

Had you already visited the Overboss and Nisha first?

I have already visited them。Gage told me he was going to take me somewhere to get a tattoo and told me to follow him, but he just stood there without moving.

I'm fairly certain it removes the facial piercings, though may be the body ones, but pretty sure it's facial.  If that helps isolate which slot for everyone 🖤

You may need to do some kind of setstage, not sure why he isn't moving.  If kinda backing off and giving him some space doesn't help you could try to save, then click on him and type moveto player and see if that resets his pathing

 

If not, I know it should be stage 20 if he asked you to follow him, if you do the sqv _NukaRide_Girls does it say stage 20?
