When doing the Safari quest for the Jesse dance just as it was finishing and i was talking to Jesse (after he gave the bat) a mirelurk showed up, as there was loads of pack around they easily killed it but then i had to speak to Jesse again to advance and got given another bat, dunno if there is a way to disable hostiles in fallout 4 - not using any mod that adds in additional so think it was a default fallout 4 one.

If your playing with other mods that may be your issue.  I think Advanced Needs for example can spawn enemies, but I have never seen a Mirelurk spawn during that scene and I am pretty sure JB disabled all of the placed hostile NPCs and maybe any base game injection scripts (if there are any?) because I have never seen anything hostile other than what is intentional.

It's possible that some animation packages are missing.
EAP checks for all publicly available animations during installation. You can use this to find missing mods.

I checked in EAP and I have all the animations installed, except for the gay Allnatra -  it is not needed in Nuka-Ride.

Player Comments and Head Tracking

Woof, there are a lot of patches for this mod (looks like 11 on that mod, and there is another patch hub mod out there with 9 more patches), and this comment on the description:

"Other mods that edit vanilla quests and/or dialogue or Idles may need to be patched and it is best to place those mods above Player Comments in your load order to negate missing dialogue problems with this mod."

It sounds like this mod has modified vanilla quest dialogues to add it's player comments, which may be a problem for any common quest dialogue that NR also modifies.  And I know some of the fade out, AAF scenes, and fade in are triggered through dialogue scripts.  So you might be running into a situation where the fade in is not happening because of this, hard to say without looking at that mod in xEdit.

Sounds like you found the conflict, so really the next thing to do is either play without it or use xEdit to create a patch.

Well, at least someone understands me. The "dialogue scenarios" in this mod are like a quest within a quest. And there are tons of them! Every time I progressed further, I had to avoid dialogue in combination with AAF. And sometimes it doesn't even get to AAF.

For example, when I set the table, while OB, Raider, and other guys are talking, I always get a black screen. Moreover, I logged in several times with different profiles saves new characters.
Or during Norita's first encounter with Father in Bunker Hill, the dialogue box froze completely, and there was nothing you could do except skip the dialogue itself.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to use XEdit. That's why I kept jumping from one dialogue fragment to another or skipping entire scenes.
And it's extremely frustrating and exhausting.

If you don't have the patience or skills to solve mod conflicts then I would just use the required & recommended mods on page 1.  Unfortunately with almost 60K mods on Nexus it's going to be hard to find someone to identify the cause without having a prior experience and knowing what you installed.  But I'll tell you when a mod like that has 20 patches for it that's a red flag for me and I won't even bother with the mod.

But disabling the player comments mod solves the problem, right?  I think that's the only solution you would have at this point.  I don't really understand what that mod is doing (and I am not interested in that mod to even want to look at it), because some of the quests you mentioned are totally unique to NR.  Yes some of them do a fade out/fade in, but it's always worked for me.  First meeting with Father after asking to sit will fade out, place a chair, and a few seconds fade in.

I said that at the start of this rather long conversation and got chewed out ha ha

Create a separate profile with minimum requirements see if it works add your fluff one at a time after that, fucking simple really.

Also I have had the Mirelurks show up at the theatre once as well but only the one playthrough

@_Nomad_  But hadn't you already played this part? And to top it all off, I even programmed Key to look at the clue.

...That was just a small example. Two years ago, I disabled this mod - "Player Comments and Activity Tracking." While there is a list of installation requirements, there is no list of prohibited mods. This is my first time writing anything here, and I appreciate your comment. BUT, so many people constantly report problems here... And if everyone is so happy, then the problem is me and the third-party mods that users constantly add to their MO2 games. I love this mod and return to it from time to time. And sooner or later, I will find the cause. I already disabled the EAP patch, and nothing has changed.

Do you have a short video that better illustrates what's happening? You can upload it to https://streamable.com/ or googledrive.

If anyone ever stumbles across that Mirelurk from the theater in the Safari, you can open the console and click on it to get its REF ID. I've been searching for it in the Safari and the surrounding area, via Creation Kit, and there's nothing. I type "mirelurk" or "lvl" into the search bar and scan the area for anything positive, but there's nothing. 🤔

Oh, my friend, I have no doubt that then the mod will definitely launch without any problems!
But I'm not ready to give up 2 million mods.)

I don't pay attention to it. In Nuka Ride, super mutants can also fight the Brotherhood of Steel. Considering that I have 3 million mods, I consider this to be the norm.
But the plot dialogues are another matter. And it's an intrigue of intrigues.

It's all me and my 5 million mods. I just thought someone might have a quick fix. So thanks for everything. I've already skipped or worked around the issues as best I could. But I'll get this sorted out someday.

Do you use MO2 and know how to create a new profile ,I get what you mean I have a couple of profiles with so many mods my Sim settlement 2 has has a tonne of mods and every time I add a new one I wince that it might all come crashing down there 250+ hours in it, Nukaride is a mod worth playing when it runs smoothly

It's a scripted trap i'm not sure if they are in a holding room anywhere ,i have a mod called uncut content that gives you doors to all the random encounter npc's and the creatures that pop up out of nowhere holding cells plus DLC rooms I'll have a look tomorrow when I turn my gaming computer back on ,I'm off grid and my gamer draws shit loads of power and the wife will crack the shits if I use too much power and she can't run our million inch TV😬

Yes, I remembered how to create a profile in MO2. I was once advised to create a separate profile for Fallout London from scratch. Everything was fine at first. But then my new profile for Fallout London started to fall apart. I literally started sinking into the ground. Although I haven't installed any other mods yet. And I never played this mod again.

I haven't played Sim2. Is it something about building settlements? I'm only interested in the hero; how the plot is woven into the game itself. The quest itself. So I'm both happy and sad. For me, it's like a detective story. By the way, the author of "Norita" is increasingly leaning toward the melodrama genre. But there was one moment when we had to find the missing mayor. And that was truly interesting. And Nora's legendary meeting with Father in Bunker Hill is probably the best thing I've ever seen in a story a game..

The heroine cooked a steak. Next, you need to set the table...

To avoid an endless black screen , I enter:

Force Lunch Scene

 - SetStage _NR_Enemy 180

Pick Up the table - "Fizztop Chores"  SetStage _NR_Enemy 190

Then I go to wash the dishes, and only then I talk to the OB.

I'm wondering if it is the WorkshopAttackScript, or something like that.  It looks like the Workshop parent quest for Nuka World does add Mirelurk attacks to the form list dynamically.  But I am not aware of a workshop in that area, and they should get a "Defend" quest.

I hunted around yesterday, and that was the one thing I came up with.

Izzy had a similar problem. Izzy is the one who made the Nuka World Patch for Nuka Ride. I never figured out why it happened, but it was definitely something in his load order. In any case, I wrote him a code that you'll find in the MCM, help section. It's called "Dispel Black Screen" or something like that. It assigns a hotkey, and you should apply it whenever that happens.

Izzy's solution in the meantime was: save, reload. That always fixed it for him. But try my hotkey first.

Does this help? Appears for me after the dance when the quest says to talk to Jesse if you run about to the left of him (player left while facing the pack) . Have a save shortly before the dance if you want me to upload it for you

On a unrelated note, is there a way to fix Dixie's hair, i searched and saw some discussion about it but i dont think i'm using the mods mentioned and the patch for commonwealth cuts didn't help

As I said earlier, the black screen spray hot button does not work. But save and reboot - it worked! Thanks
