Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Its got good action but the story itself is rather generic and predictable.
Lightsauce Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 summer wars, man....this movie give me the feels, and its just like digimon the movie too  other than that, i regret nothing watching valrave
Someone92 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 It was quite some time since I the last time I passed by, so here are my short reviews of the animes I've watched since then: Â Â Â Serial Experiments Lain (An futuristic anime from the late 90s where technology is at a point where you can dive into the "Wired" (= internet) with a part of your mind; the main character starts going into the Wired after a classmate of her died. I really enjoyed that one but don't watch it if you can't stand an anime without action scenes) Â Usagi Drop (A bachelor in his mid-thirties suddenly has to take care for a 5-year old girl. Aimed at the older audience (mid-twenties and up) but for those properly one of the best animes ever) Â Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (The flower we saw that day) (A real tearjerker but damn good) Â Kokoro Connect (A group of five friends are approached by a god-like being and are kind of cursed to its amusement; the first curse is that the swap bodies at random. The OVAs are kinda weak but the rest of the series is good) Â Maoyuu Maou Yuusha (At first glance it seems like a cheap ripoff of Spice and Wolf with more fanservice but it's actually surprisingly good; it looks at things at a larger scale than Spice and Wolf and has even a few action scenes mixed in. That's one I want to see a sequel of) Â Ookami to Koushinryou (Spice and Wolf) (A merchant meets a wolf goddess and together they travel the world; half a story about merchants, half a romance. Very enjoyable) Â Black Lagoon (Is about a group of mercenaries who do what they have to do to survive in a corrupt city/state. The two seasons are good, the OVAs lack in comparison to them) Â Don't Problem Children Come From an Alternate World (Three children from different worlds are taken to 'Little Garden' which is basically one big casino to help rebuilding a community. The games can be anything from a somewhat typical casino card game to a deathmatch, and the wager can be nothing to yourself. Most of the time it tries to be a comedy and is good at that) Â Ghost Hunt (A young girl joins a group of ghost hunters which are called by people suffering from haunting. Together they try to find out who the beings are that haunts the place and how to pacify them. I was disappointed that the amine hardly ever focuses on the differences between the different spiritualist. Overall it was neither particularly good nor bad) Â Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (Starts like a typical triangle high-school love story but then things go bad. For the most part the character do actually reasonable decisions due to their situation but towards the end you get the feeling the characters decisions are just made to lead to a big drama in the end. If the anime would had been able to keep up the quality of its first eight episodes or so it would be one of the best animes ever, due to the disappointing ending it's just slightly above average. It also has an OVA with an alternative ending but supposedly it's even worse so I didn't bother to watch it) Â Kiniro Mosaic (Slice-of-life anime about a young girl from England going to Japan ever since a friend's daughter from Japan has visited their house. Seen better, seen worse) Â Yuru Yuri (Another slice-of-life anime in a world seemingly without any boys or men. Brainless fun but good at it) Â Love Lab (Yet another slice-of-life anime. On a girl-only school a group of girls, all with zero love experience, discussing about how to get a boyfriend, and usually failing hard. Mostly a comedy and solid at it, lacks when it tries to get serious) Â Wolf Children (About a young woman who has to take care of two babies; to make it worse those babies are actually werewolfs so she cannot get any help from anyone. It would have did the film good if it was longer as the ending is a little sudden. Nevertheless really good) Â Shiki (The story takes place in a secluded village, properly around the middle to end of the 20th century. A small group of vampires try to secretly take over the village and make it their home, and how a few villagers find out about it and are trying to stop them. Overall quite good but some the of the vampire character remain to hollow) Â Speed Grapher (It is about a girl who's kiss can either kill you or turn your greatest, hidden desire into your superpower. A journalist tries to free this girl from a cult who's trying to use her to take control over Japan. Overall good but the explanation for the girl's power is having holes) Â The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (A girl discovers that she has the ability to turn back time by jumping into the air. For the most part she uses the ability for non-sense but later she uses it for more serious stuff with greater and greater negative consequences; kinda like Butterfly Effect. Considered one of the best anime films ever made; dunno, if I compare it to the few anime films I've watched it's certainly true but if you compare it to anime series as well it's "just" good) Â Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru (Is about a grumpy but observant boy with a very pessimistic view on the world and girl who's so pretty and perfect that she constantly falls victim to other people jealousy. Both are forced by their teacher into a club which activity is to help whoever seeks their help. Enjoyable to watch)
ds64 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It was quite some time since I the last time I passed by, so here are my short reviews of the animes I've watched since then:  Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (The flower we saw that day) (A real tearjerker but damn good) Anohana... best if you watched it with angel beats, clannad (especially clannad: after story). and another drama like 5 centimeter per seconds, true tears, I's Pure.   Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru  (Is about a grumpy but observant boy with a very pessimistic view on the world and girl who's so pretty and perfect that she constantly falls victim to other people jealousy. Both are forced by their teacher into a club which activity is to help whoever seeks their help. Enjoyable to watch)  even though the male protagonist is so pessimistic, he's a genius philosopher though, he tries to help people in his own way.. even if it's make other people hate him.. that why he doesn't seems like a nice guy.. but he is... Even the brightest man in his class acknowledge it, I think he is the only one that sees the truth behind hachiman action.
Gay_Fox Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 i recommend anime     cowboy beebop  gun graves  countof monte cristo  unicon gundam   they are not gay stories lol  p.s. sorry to bad english  Â

ossku Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Would anyone recommend Guilty Crown? Â Whats it like?
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Would anyone recommend Guilty Crown? Â Whats it like? It's pretty good up till the last 3 or 4 episodes then it goes completely to shit.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 That's the whole point of Seitokai. its dirty comedy at it's best, better then the ones that are total ecchi and nothing else.
LaEspada Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 That's the whole point of Seitokai. its dirty comedy at it's best, better then the ones that are total ecchi and nothing else. Â I believe it was a response to the anime trope that all girls are pure angels with no impure thoughts and such. Which in reality is far from the truth. Not so say that all girls are complete perverts far from that also. Girls can be perverts also. Â Some of hte jokes actually are pretty funny, but yeah it's just dirty comedy 100x over.
The DarkSlayer Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Watched Corpse Party: Tortured Souls.... and here I thought Higurashi was brutal... After that watched Summer Wars to regain my composure lol.
Someone92 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Recently watched (or rather endured) Fate/Zero; I wondered how this pile of crap got so high ratings and praise until I've heard that it's apparently a hentai game adaptation and all the fanboys of the game are all over the anime regardless of its quality (or lack thereof); would make sense. Â Â Â The story is about seven mages entering a deathmatch to win an ancient, powerful artifact (yeah, never seen that before); well, there's a little twist: The mages are not supposed to fight for themselves but instead summon heroes of the past to fight for them so no mage themselves actually comes to harm but most of them join the fight anyways. True to the cliche said artifact requires a greater sacrifice than it's originally stated; and that's not even spoiler because it's already said in one of the earlier episodes. Â Well, with the setting being a battle royale there should be at least a lot of fight/action scene to make up for the weak setting, right? Nope, actual fight scenes are rare and are only a few minutes long, at most (unless you call repeatedly slashing at tentacles a fight scene; I guess I know what kind of scene often happens in the h-game). Most of the the fight gets either canceled, or, during the few fights that are actually fought until the end the scene changed only back to the fight when one of the fighters is already dead or dieing. Can you end a fight even more anti-climatic? Â For the majority of the anime the characters have minute-long monologs/dialogs with little to no character development; some characters actually have some very interesting characteristics or relationships to other characters, e.g. the different battle morale of Saber and Kiritsugu Emiya, or Tokiomi Tohsaka's view on his daughters. However pretty much as soon as the anime brought them up it ignores them again; so much lost potential. The story is very foreseeable, most fights are foreshadowed 5-10 episodes beforehand and the winner is usually determined already as well (the last fight is even foreshadowed 15-20 episodes beforehand) and then you're expected to watch several uneventful episodes to finally see said fight. Â Â Â Only the ending is surprising, it's basically "watch Fate/Stay Night to see the conclusion". Well, because I've read that Fate/Stay Night is apparently the same as Fate/Zero I stayed far, far away from it. Unless you like DBZ/Naruto-like animes avoid Fate/Zero.
ds64 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Watched Corpse Party: Tortured Souls.... and here I thought Higurashi was brutal... After that watched Summer Wars to regain my composure lol. LOL, I know corpse party from the psp games... did you already tried pupa?  Recently watched (or rather endured) Fate/Zero; I wondered how this pile of crap got so high ratings and praise until I've heard that it's apparently a hentai game adaptation and all the fanboys of the game are all over the anime regardless of its quality (or lack thereof); would make sense.  The story is about seven mages entering a deathmatch to win an ancient, powerful artifact (yeah, never seen that before); well, there's a little twist: The mages are not supposed to fight for themselves but instead summon heroes of the past to fight for them so no mage themselves actually comes to harm but most of them join the fight anyways. I haven't watched Fate/Zero yet, maybe it's because I hate prequel and after seeing the ending of Fate/Stay Night. I already finished the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel (the games, fate/zero didn't have VN) well yes it's has some hentai scene, but only a few scene of it, it focused on the story I think... The story is quite good.. It has 3 route, the anime took Fate route, OVA took Unlimited Blade Works route, and lastly Heavens Feel route. I think the battle in Fate/Stay anime is quite good but not fast paced like DBZ/Naruto... and some of it ended too quick... My favorite is this:     and this: contain spoiler   fuck him.. I think his gate of babylon is too overpowered...  Â
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Sooo does that mean you will be watching the Fate stay night remake that is starting up this year?
The DarkSlayer Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Â Watched Corpse Party: Tortured Souls.... and here I thought Higurashi was brutal... After that watched Summer Wars to regain my composure lol. LOL, I know corpse party from the psp games... did you already tried pupa? Â Already watched the first episode. Gonna drop it cause they didn't include some good scenes from the source material.
ds64 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Sooo does that mean you will be watching the Fate stay night remake that is starting up this year? there is an Fate/Stay Night remake?!? Why the fuck did I always miss something like that... Contain Spoiler: Â Â I don't know... If that's only a remake, then maybe it's taking the Fate route..again.. If that happen, I already seen that shit a couple times (in the anime and VN).. with the ending saber/ Arthuria Pendragon died in peace in her time (I sometimes hate the sad ending)... Or taking a new route (Heaven's Feel), I think I'm gonna watch it.. even if saber is died in the middle of it and by the hand of her love interest... T_T Â Â Â Â Watched Corpse Party: Tortured Souls.... and here I thought Higurashi was brutal... After that watched Summer Wars to regain my composure lol. LOL, I know corpse party from the psp games...did you already tried pupa? Â Already watched the first episode. Gonna drop it cause they didn't include some good scenes from the source material. Â Oh... It's not quite good then.. how about another and Monster? (I haven't watched the anime though, only finished the manga). MPD phsyco is quite good too, unfortunately it doesn't have anime adaptation.
Call me Mark Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 Shineskai yori, man this anime is deep. Â Has some homosexual scenes but man they pulled it off. Â

ds64 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I think this remake is taking the darker route. Then maybe they are taking Heaven's Feel route. well.. okay... fuck...  Contain Spoiler for the Heaven's Feel route:   That route ending is quite good, but the only ending without saber, ow.. man... when saber lost her contract with shiro (by the "rule breaker")... and she got corrupted by Caster... and that Shiro has to kill her to free her... Time to gather my courage from now on then..    Btw there's this comedy anime Carnival Phantasm, Carnival Phantasm is a Fate and Melty Blood spin off, and it's contain comedies, quite good I think, I just finished third Episode.   The battle for Holy Grail become a stupidest battle in this anime... and the Holy Grail... what the hell..    And for Seitokai Yakuindomo... I have one else to add: Seriously.. Even the half of the main character is a perverts... and when I thought the male protagonist sister is normal girl, then it turns out she's a pervert too... what the fuck.. But it's not that I hate it though I just watched the fifth episode and I already found 4 perverts... The president, the secretary, the teacher, the imouto. Sooo who else??
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Pretty much the only sane ones in the show are the little blonde aka Treasurer and the MC aka Vice President.
ds64 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Pretty much the only sane ones in the show are the little blonde aka Treasurer and the MC aka Vice President. damn, that loli is pretty damn genius. I think they make her the sane person because of her brain and her loli appearance. Just like when the girl from newspaper club asking to take a picture of The president in Swimming suit, and the loli asked why didn't they take her picture in swimming suit: LOL Â and seriously?!? They are the only sane ones?!!? That's... good... More perverts more better.
Spectre_15 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I've been watching Case Closed like crazy (well, Detective Conan since it's Japanese with English subs).  Sometimes I watch two episodes, sometimes I watch a bunch on my days off.  As of right now, in less than 3 months, I've watched 4 seasons, which is 112 episodes in the English dub or 106 in the Japanese with subs (some episodes are split into 2 parts for English).
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 FAIRY TAIL nuf said! Which oddly enough is starting up again in April.
