problem with EBs mesh is, i cant seem to get any other clothes on it, they just show up as invisible

thats because EBs meremaid race is actually a new race. please take a look at how skyrim handles armors in relation to races, and you will understand. the whole "make that tail equipable" thing (at least from my point of view) wont turn out as you may expect.

it might be usefull to sum up in notes what you actually want. you maybe also ask EB to convert his/her mesh or build a new one.

from what i can see is that you "all" want is:

  • a meremaid race
  • a meremaid transform spell
  • a equipable tail
  • custom animations while the tail is equiped (there is no way i can think of that this is possible other than changing the race i.e. autocasting the transform spell)
  • custom animations for the race
  • in water detection (for animations and so on)
  • underwater combat

if i missed some points, please copy the list or change it to your liking, but its kind of hard for others that may want to help to keep track of what actually is needed or wanted as this thread has become something like a conversation between 2-3 people.

Do you actually play the game? I think you should really start using the CK, adding already created armors to a race is one of the simplest things to do, provided they actually fit, uses the same body mesh type. You don't have to keep asking people about stuff and turn this into your personal chatroom, just to find out if a certain armor would not disappear.

 

Also, if you wanted a mermaid with exposed butt and genitals, you should download EB's version. It's exactly what you want, and learn

a few things about categorizing armors in the CK, the what to wear tops fits perfectly as tops for his mermaid mesh.

 

For the mermaid animation, use the console sae startsneak. if you download the crawl on all fours, but like I said, it's not meant for mermaids, you will see your mermaid rolling. It will have to do for now until someone makes a few tweaks, or you could try to ask the author to tweak it for mermaids. Please do.

 

For the underwater fighting, we have to wait for Suludi to finish her animations. Until she's not yet finished, I don't think there will be underwater combat, except a few magic.

 

For the swimming detection, you need to make an outfit change script, look it up on the CK website on how to do it, and give them conditions based on when you want your mermaid to transform. Don't forget to use a wait script, it's something that you wanted before transformation.

 

The only thing I'm really waiting for now is the underwater animations, and more mermaid tail types, and armors.

eh man, the EB race uses a custom mesh, so just, making an armour up in the ck that has them on the list of races it can be used on, isnt working, neither is just adding them to the racelist for the rest of the armours, ive tried it before. that is unless im going about it wrong, which is possible.

I didn't say make up just any armor, I said the armors from what to wear. It worked with mine, sorry if it didn't work for you.

 

yeah, well i think you got confused a while back about what i was trying to say so:

 

armour and clothes have to be made, specifically for EBs mermaid body, for what you're using, it doesnt, because you're using a vanilla/cbbe/unp body, with a tail attached to it as an armour part.

 

yaman, i have tried workin this out in the CK and ive tried a bit at working at it in 3dsmax, ive got SOME armours for EB S already made(by ripping the scantily clad armours, and putting them on the mermaid body) but i have no idea how to get them back in the game, ugh.

By mine, I actually mean, my testing. I tested the what to wear which is UNP body type with EB's mesh and it fits right. Why would you need to create specifically new armors? I'll get back and take pictures for you as proof.

So...here's a question. Will this new tail resource (because lets face it, if this is pulled off fully, you've unlocked the door to  a boatload of new stuff) going to be in any way configurable? And will you share it with others? And I may as well ask before the endless flood of people do, are there plans to make this be bodyslide compatible for the upper half? Or is that one of those "Oh hell no" things to add to this? And lastly, I'd like to deeply thank all of the modders working on this, (EB included for the aid he gave), and for sticking it through despite the ungrateful louts that demand and demand without knowing what it is they are telling the modders to do. Thank you, and I look forward to seeing where this goes.

Well, it looks like another one has left the building. You and I are going to have to learn to mesh if we want this done. Btw, are you using EB's mesh already, or you want another mesh?

oi, im usin EBs mesh currently, but i would much rather prefer a tail thats worn like armour instead, for quick transforming
