I have made an underwater attack animation but as long as we can't bind it to a key (which afaik needs FNIS), it won't be of any use. Still, here it is. uw_mageattack.rar

As for the animation, I had thought about using it as a replacement for ritualspell_aimrelease.hkx but I don't know how to address that animation directly, I guess it's in a package which I know nothing about. And I don't want every ritualspell using mage in the game to use it after all. So I think it must be implemented as a new animation and bound to some kind of magic damage. And THEN we still don't know whether it works underwater or not.
firepower02 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I think althought not sure it has something to do with the .hkx file, the one which tells the game which animations to use and what folder path to use. And I've been meaning to ask, is there a seperate different animation for sneak swimming? Is it possible to bind the mermaid swim to sneak swimming, so only when you sneak you swim like a mermaid, but swim regularly when not. In land, there is a crawling sneak animation, although it needs a bt more tweaking to fit mermaids, the mermaid can just always sneak so she'll be crawling all the time.

And honestly, I don't understand people's fascination with a mermaid that's helplessly flopping about on land either. My mermaids won't do that, period. They are a proud new race, not a new sex toy with fins.

I said that to perhaps have different way of swimming for mermaids and humanoids, if the sneak swim and normal swim are different. If you still don't understand the, simply put I don't want all normal human race to swim like mermaids, the word exclusive. How much proud can a mermaid race be if their way of swimming is the same as regular humanoids? Because it's unrealistic for mermaids to swim in the air, and not flop/crawl on land. Thanks for asking the creator, but maybe you should ask for a "no standing all crawl" animations instead. No random standing, no rolling, and still crawl when fighting or casting. That's what I've observed using the animation.

Suludi Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Okay... things are finally coming into shape. After hiding in a dark hole for several weeks, I have now started to learn weightpainting. And when I finally realized it was possible to bind the mesh to the tailbones (of skeletonbeast-female.nif) instead of the legs, it almost worked. Weightpainting is still a bitch but I think I'll get it done.

No nif file yet cause I'm not finished but now that I have a vague idea of what I'm doing, I'll hurry up.
