Monsto Brukes Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Guys i'm going to have some time this evening and I'll put up a forum probably at fishtits.monsto.com. I'll pm the ip and the privacy password to these people. suludi, vioxsis, eternalblack, mantaman These are just the most active that I've seen and people can be added as needed. it will be a 'full service' forum, allowing attachments up to a certain point tho I would really recommend using dropbox or drive or one of the equivalents. . . they can all 'auto sync' which makes life lots easier.
Leeeeeroy Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Like monstro said. I think it looks great, it looks like how a "real" mermaid is, instead of the disney mermaids we're used to
firepower02 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Different presets of mermaid tails? That would be awesome, having all mermaids of the same exact tail would not be as fun as having many different tails. Mermaid in tail form wil be able to wear armor? I thought that when they turn to their mermaid forms they would only be wearing some shell bras or the like, only when turning to human form they can wear any armor same as the humanoids. Having them wear armors in their tail form would be great. It'll be fine in human form. As it is above, I think that's perfect. . . just a little subtlety to show that "hey i'm something different than just a normal humanoid" I thought I've read about mermaid lore and the reason they turn into human is to blend in, not "hey look at me, I'm a mermaid, I have scales on my body, no these are not skin condtions."
mantaman Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 oi, on the subject of armour, can we get some non skimpy ones? i think every bit of glass armour is pulled off great, aside from the skirt thing, it would be coll if we got some...merpants? oh, and btw, the weight slider is stuck at 0 edit: figured out how to convert gauntlets, helmets, and shields edit2: NNNEVERMIND
undeadvr Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 just tried the beta by EB - looks like a great start, lots of potential. Can't wait to see what you guys do with this.
Halstrom Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I thought I've read about mermaid lore and the reason they turn into human is to blend in, not "hey look at me, I'm a mermaid, I have scales on my body, no these are not skin condtions." True, but scaled skin appearing if out of the water too long or if wet in the rain could be interesting as a warning before becoming "Land tailed"

Halstrom Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 getting a tail if out of the water too much? never heard of anything like that in mermaid lore Or they just get really weak then die, I worded that badly Land tailed is usually when they get wet only

herb616 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Could Frostfall be used to check if the player is wet?It has the ability to check if the player is wet from rain
firepower02 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 getting a tail if out of the water too much? never heard of anything like that in mermaid lore Or they just get really weak then die, I worded that badly Land tailed is usually when they get wet only I heard of that in sims 3, but they just made that up. But the starting to get scaly skin as a warning that their legs are transforming back to tail is interesting.
Vioxsis Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Textured.... And i tried doing some coral tridents... A long piece of coral looks stupid, so i thought about tying it together, which led too tying pieces to a harpoon... What weapon am i setting them as? there are no spears in skyrim... well there are the Riekling ones...
Suludi Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Those are really beautiful! We could use the Riekling spear slot but as of now, I've tried to keep the mod strictly vanilla based so people don't need the DLCs to play as a mermaid or go to Lakerise. I would like to keep it the same in weapons and armour. There is a mod which allows you to stab with a 1H or 2H sword (apparently it's a vanilla attack move which didn't make it into the original game.) Sadly, it's 1st person perspective only but we can still use it. And this supposedly has a 3rd person attack. Haven't tried it yet. Btw, if anyone wants the scaly skin (it's based on the legged version, not the tail), see below. It will apply to ALL women in the game unless you use a mod which gives you a unique skin, like Equippable skins and textures. Which currently has a bug (see its description) but is a good start. Extract the 7z file into Data/Textures/Actors/Character/female. Make sure to backup your original femalebody_1.dds if you already had it in that folder. You can change the body colour to a more blueish/greenish version by using the showracemenu command. femalebody_1.7z
firepower02 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Applies to all females in game? Well now, that just defeats the purpose of what one poster said "Hey, this skin condition is a reminder I'm a mermaid." The tridents look nice like they came out of a disney mermaid movie. I don't know about the coral, I don't think they are sharp enough to pierce, they can be used young mermaids as toy tridents.
Suludi Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Applies to all females in game? Well now, that just defeats the purpose of what one poster said "Hey, this skin condition is a reminder I'm a mermaid." That's just because I'm lazy, I simply replaced the default femalebody texture. Remember, this entire thing isn't even Beta version, it's more Lambda or Epsilon.

The problem with a lot of metals in skyrim is that they lack the appropriate striations and therefore wind up looking like stone. Mine posting it so I can take a crack at it? Meantime I'm going to work on setting up a dev forum. . .
Vioxsis Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 https://mega.co.nz/#!t5Ei3Ybb!Au3vYjoKy8onoZnommEw-Ac499k7HUyNbgYFxZFx0l4 I put all 4 of them in one nif, you will have to point to where the texture is. (i left it blank) The UVs are in png and the diffuse i did are in dds. (textures are named after the objects trishape in the nif) I am going to do a normal and spec map for them and make a few esp's (so they can be used as different types of weapons) to test them out. Hopefully it will be done tomorrow, as long as nothing gets in my way. Also anyone want to suggest any names for them can, i genuinely don't know what to name them (always the hardest part)... The name has to be under 24 characters (i think).
firepower02 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 The Trident of King Triton, Scalloped Trident of Atlantis, Blood Sucking Trident, Pitchfork of Neptune, The Tailfin of Poseidon,
Suludi Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Don't we want to stick to Elder Scrolls Lore?
Vioxsis Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 https://mega.co.nz/#!xlVEkKSa!Hl4UJDvM2UdqHbIORPXxIDun6zJRE4LGeKcybWz5mc4 2 handed test.
mantaman Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 guuys, i think i figured out the whole underwater fighting business, but it'll only work for mers (well, make sense with them) so, what we do is, make a separate animation set for mermaids, copy the regular human ones over, and delete the swimming animations, they'll just be "walking" through the water, since the mermaids "walk" anyway, we'll just use the same animations underwater, since it kinda looks like swimming and all we'll have to do is disable bows and magic underwater
firepower02 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I tested Lakerise further, and the only races that has underwater fighting are mudcrabs, slaughterfish and horker. If I console other creatures underwater, they won't fight. I'm also going to make singing mudcrabs and slaughterfish, kinda like a disney underwater, but sing about the dragonborn's tale and ulfric, lol!
Suludi Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Then I hope you sing better than the ingame bards, LOL! (Shouldn't be difficult, they are horrible)
firepower02 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Lol! I found out there can be magic underwater, magic that is equipped with the 'z' button. Any type of destruction magic works, but we should really avoid fire, it would look weird seeing burnt slaughterfish, lightning and ice are ok I guess. There is no swim left and swim right, btw.

Yes we know any destruction magic can work, but we where going on a more immersive look to it. Edit: what I mean is that yes magic can go through water and hit enemies including fire, it's just awkward as all living hell.
