[WIP]Mermaids

Yeah I'm kinda the same way . . . AS SOON as i said i could up that site, I was reminded that i have children and that I should probably wrap their gifts and just generally pretend to be a father.

Converted my tails to CBBE curvy. Texture is next.

 

I'm getting a gap on the left arm between hand and arm. Not sure why. I did a skin wrap on the default CBBE body, it should be almost exact, right? Anyone have an idea of what the problem is?

 

Also, with the animations. I tested them with my body and it might save some time weight painting if they were animated to be waving in the default position. Just a thought.

I really like the mermaid tail uploaded by EB, I just hope there will be a version where the genitals and butt aren't revealed, either with EB's or another user's mesh.

Wow. This is looking to be bloody amazing, especially Eternal Black's ultra fancy fins and armor. Seriously you're all great. I have one question though, I read a while back that EB was working on some sort of Naga/serpent race, is this true?

i think he gave up on that, but pm him, he might work on it

Don't worry, those are mine. :) I smoothed the swimforward a bit, so it might be a good idea to download that version.

 

 

 

Mantaman, Lakerise isn't an esm yet, I'm still working on it as an esp cause I won't be able to change the landscape when it's an esm. And I screwed up the LOD so it will take some more time, sorry. :(

Well, it's more of a personal preference than an abhorrence to anything nude (otherwise I wouldn't of made an account here). I'd be more appealed to it if the tail itself or scales were meshed around the ass and vagina, rather than just being cut off like in EB's tail. It just looks really odd. For me, tits are enough when it comes to mermaid sexuality, rather than a pussy and butt hanging out awkwardly over the tail. 

 

That's just my opinion, though. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my comment! I think the project is going great, and I don't mean any disrespect.

I think we're going to offer several different versions anyway cause my opinion on it is just the same as yours (that's why my mermaid is still tailless). But each to their own taste, we may even see some detailed mermaid sex action here. ^^

I dunno if Tail animation's have been finished, but I had an idea that might look good and work alright. It's a multi-stage thing but here goes.

 

1) Body animations from the hips up would be classic mer-style (There's actual mermaid tails you can get that not only look incredible, but are functional. Watching vids of those on youtube could help.)

2) The tail would have multiple bones and NO animations, but WOULD be physics capable with high weights, maybe HDT or something. That way it'll respond to the movements of the body, but would also maybe 'flow' better in the water and would mean less work on the total body animations.

 

As for how to get on and off land, maybe crawl, spend X amount of time on land, poof there you go. If you wanna go for realism, have it kill your stamina and unequip all items.

nice idea, but the physics thingy wont be possible due to the nature of HDT i guess. it wont detect water and will always tend to fall down i.e. the tail will fall down even when the body is aligned horizontally movement will most likely make it flutter all over the place, beside there is no inside-water/outside-water detection in HDT.

I really like the swim animations, except swim left and swim right, personally I don't think it's need editing, it's only waiting for the right tail mesh to complete.

oi, im in favor of just having modded EB tails

or moving kinda like a snake? we can keep the swim animations, or do without them and just have regular walk animations under water so fighting would be immediate, and for crawling, there'll be an animation where everything from the butt down is ragdolled, so no need to animate the tail

I haven't changed the swimleft and swimright animations, so they're still vanilla and don't work with a tail. As for the body, I've managed to convert the mermaid body into an armour but the texture's all wrong, so now I have to find out how the BodySlide thingy works. I don't like the idea of binding the tail to one leg only, the mesh looks fine but the body's all crooked.
