Doesn't seem like it's super common, out of 12 empires only 2 have inbreeding in my current game. I'll adjust the values a bit lower just in case.

Huh... That shouldn't be... On my end i'm only at 8k pops in this new run and obviously i'm capped at 20%. Wonder what's happening on your end.

I'm glad someone mentioned balance 😁 for once. I know its not the most important thing since most people play with LV (which can be op) and this mod, but I've always had vanilla balance in mind since I play with this mod personally in a Vanilla+ load order without LV and I didn't want to steamroll the already abysmal 4.0 AI. An incest empire will still lose to a virtual empire for example in terms of effective numbers. But you'll still be able to put up a proper fight against grand admiral Ai with a incest focused empire. Any other mods aren't taken into account when it comes to these numbers though like if you juiced up your AI empires with a mod. Edited May 29, 2025 by dragondxlv

NoGround Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Yeah the balance on this mod is great. 4.0 is so busted atm anyway that main thing that makes LV OP is Milking. Ignore milking and LV isn't too crazy compared to some of the other meta builds. Lithia has mentioned that they're working on a real 4.0 overhaul for LV anyway. A lot of the old systems clash with Vanilla even more so than 3.14 so I'm just as ready for that as I am for Paradox to actually finish 4.0 lmao. Family Oriented is a good example to draw from for other authors, so props to @dragondxlv!

Please update your Stellaris.

If you have installed this mod before and updated it by overwriting, then you will have files that should not be there. If that is what happened, please delete your current version of my mod completely and then unzip the latest version of my mod in your Stellaris/mod folder.

When the new child leader gets promoted to an adult, in case of their species not existing (my exact case is getting the psionic ascension, and my own species getting an unmodifiable trait), they generate a new species variant that has 0 pops and is undeleteable, and will not go through any assimilation/integration to remove itself. The newly generated leader also is missing the Psionic trait as well. This can be fixed by manually adding the trait with the console, and adding 1 pop to a planet + setting the species rights to integrate to main species. This gives the correct trait to the leader, but still doesn't resolve the existing 0 pop variant. Can you also look into "Speak to your current heir" missing from edicts bug? Sometimes i get it and sometimes i don't. I resolve this issue myself by removing `FO_lv_edicts` -> `heir_comms` -> `potential` -> `any_owned_leader` condition. I also get a broken screen for the portait of the leader as a result, but at least i can open the edict. Upon the "Trouble at work" event, as it also uses the default leader portait, it also has a missing graphic in this case. Is there any way to fix these? Thank you, the pics do help and very excellent documentation. So now that I know what im seeing, I should tell you that what youre seeing is NOT a bug, but a vanilla stellaris 4.0 thing. You will always have the template of your original species at game start after you genemod/they gain traits through events. That's with any empire and even without mods as far as I can tell. I believe its just so you can reassimilate to your original species if you dont have genetic ascension since you cant gene mod as freely without genetic ascension. As far as the leader with the childhood development triat, that's how it should be working at the moment. Im still expanding upon the system. Edited June 20, 2025 by dragondxlv 2

But if you'd like to make those changes yourself it's fairly simple if you just look at the inline_scripts.
