Question: do you think Fallout 4's adult mod scene is dying?

Thinking about it, at least Fallout 4 doesn't have the Stellaris Update Issues.

because that still gives me nightmares

btw if you don't know what I am talking about

the current version of Stellaris is 2.8

a simple music mod could be made when 2.3 was out

while it should still work, it gives off warning after warning because of version difference

and no one updates these mods

at least in Fallout 4, you could use the extremely early mods as easily as the latest mod

while there is version issues, at least it is not that bad

I've got a "SuperMutant Freeze fix" already, which doesn't always work. How do I know this one works by looking at it, if neither is mentioned in "[AAF] Up-To-Date Adult oriented setup guide" - the pinned topic in the AAF section for FO4?

Sorry if I sound ungrateful (thank you, BTW), but this is what I'm talking about and this is what pisses me off in FO4 modding - "oh, dude, but EVERYONE must know it!" while pulling  some link from the deeps of the site. As if in order to get (and keep) AAF working, you've got to make FO4 modding your full-time job by immersing yourself 100% into reading all topics and browsing new files.

Yes, sorry, I do get where you're coming from. I should have mentioned it's a very new (and hopefully far more thorough and actively maintained) fix which @Saya_Scarlett probably hasn't had time to work into the current guide you referenced.

(also the older "one patch" guide should probably be un-pinned from the forum at this point and allowed to fade into oblivion since it seems like that effort is unlikely to be revived)

Yeah, I get what you mean. I play and mod all three games mentioned (Fallout 4, Skyrim, Sims 4) and check LoversLab everyday to see what's new. Skyrim gets something interesting every couple of weeks or so, with a few animation packs still being updated, although Milky has announced they won't be updating their SLAL pack anymore. Damn shame.

Despite Sims 4's inferiority to not only its predecessors, but Skyrim and Fallout 4 in terms of interesting gameplay, it's constantly getting new mods (Mods, not custom content, though it constantly gets a lot of those too) and has up to 24 active animators with 45 or so inactive ones. I don't have all of them installed, but I'd wager they're easily over the 10,000 animations mark by now. People really like making their Sims have sex.

And Fallout 4... I almost never see anything new/interesting. SavageCabbage has done some great work and updated pretty consistently, but is now on a break. BP70 hasn't updated since June and took a break back in July. Apparently, he's back now, though. Atomic Lust hasn't been updated since 2019. Leito stopped logging in.

And yet, there's some great points in this thread that outlines why Fallout 4's modding scene is smaller. Which really sucks. Hopefully Starfield is not only a good game, not only supports modding, but is able to attract a very diverse and active scene of modders. I doubt Cyberpunk will.

Making anims for sims is much more easier because sims using less bones, less quality models

Yeah, I figured it was something like that. It seems to be easy enough to where I, someone with no experience in animating at all, could give it a try. Hopefully Fallout 4 gets a couple more animators, though.

That, and last time I checked making animation mods for FO4 required a few more expensive programs, unlike Oblivion and Skyrim that were able to be done with Blender.

Or at least that's my understanding of the situation.

I'm thinking about uninstalling adult mods for Fallout.

First off the big problem is the Protagonist has a background and , characters  in the world react to you as a Widow looking for their kidnapped son. Also the character is voiced with all the problems that brings from both technical and immersive aspects to lewd them.

Then we have the dialogue system. We always have 4 options and sometimes it gets expanded with using one of the options to look at more options and it's just a pain to go through.

Some of the best mods are super script heavy. Sim Settlements, and Pack Attack in particular are already going to eat up script resources and adding anything else using scripts is just going to cause massive script lag.

Lastly AAF just doesn't hold a candle to Sexlab. Sexlab has had alot more time in the oven, has alot more features, customization and mods behind it. AAF just isn't as enjoyable for me having experienced Sexlab.

I don't mean to shit on AAF because I know the modders worked really hard on it and put it up for free so I will say that setting it up is alot faster, the Animations in general seem to be much better and the dicks are usually in the right spot so I don't have to spend time adjusting schlong position to prevent seeing the tip phasing through the girls back which is honestly one of the best things ever for lewding a game.

This is pretty much what I've done - to be honesty I just like to play Fallout, the story and atmosphere I have always loved - so I keep the mods I do mostly around cute outfits and general improvements to the game.

Skyrim is mostly my standbox for more fun adult things.
