Sexy voice for vilja?

Yeah, not gonna happen, though I agree.

I'd love to have Vilja in my game, but I absolutely can't stand to listen to her. At all. Not that I don't appreciate the work that went into her, but...ugh.

I like to dress Vilja up in slutty clothes and run Random Sex and Matchmaker on her (SexLab Romance does not work on Vilja, sadly). Emma would not approve.

Sexlab Romance seems to not work on a lot of followers it seems, probably a flag in the mod somewhere.

I don't find Vilja's voice sexy. I'd sooner describe it as childlike and slightly annoying, and I don't blame the OP for looking for alternatives (Beauty of opinion and right of free speech, right?). But realistically speaking, it won't happen. Vilja mod has a ton of content doing another Voice Over for that would be plenty of work.

Huh, Go figure, The Nord (Swedish) Woman with a child like way about her and little skills, though eager to learn, has a more "Child Like" voice and a Swedish accent, WHODDA THUNK IT?

She could murder the high king with that voice  but from what I seen the rest of the mod is quality I'm sure the voice actor did the best she could with the equipment she had though so props to her.

her voice doesn't really bother me that much, what bothers me the most is some of the other voice actors in that mod.  one specifically is a dunmer that was stored in a bottle.  her voice is grating and you can't skip the long *** conversation.

I enjoyed the writing and having her around, but after a few days of listening to her babble I couldn't take it anymore. I could "Deal with" the voice, but...

Yeah, I agree her voice is so annoying my Vampire had her for dinner and breakfast... then told her to wait right here.... I left her there for the wolves... saved my game... uninstalled the mod and enjoyed Skyrim once more...seriously though, I left her outside Eldergleam Sanctuary so I truly don't know how the mod plays out and since I walk 99% of the time to places... that was the longest fn hike in my gaming history!!! and just so we all know, I used her in Oblivion and thought the same thing. wont make that mistake again for TES6 unless they change that voice.

The mod has a nice cult following on Nexus. I replied to a post about the fireworks you see on your wedding night.

I was like "What fire works"? Your asking the wrong question and using the wrong Mods. She really is a "Wildcat"!!

Never did go back and see what response that got.  :shy:

Yeah, there's nowt wrong with the acting per se, or the lines she says, it's the recording quality that's a bit pants - poor soundproofing wherever it was recorded (you can hear the "room" she's in), there's no (or ineffective) pop shield, it doesn't sound like a top notch mic, there's a lack of high quality compression and eq post processing to give the sound "body" and "sparkle" (which is just as well, as they'd bring up the "room" sound anyway!).

It's relatively professionally done in comparison to some other dismal efforts I've heard, but it's nowhere near the kind of quality that would be required of a pro effort like the Bethesda stuff.  It's pretty obvious that either a friend's home studio with semi-pro gear, or a cheap local recording studio out in the boondocks was used.

I say this not to diss the mod, which is a wonderful, classic mod, but just to explain why some people (including myself) find it hard to use, despite its excellence in terms of depth, dialogue, story, etc.

I admire the amount of work that's gone into this. The writing is not bad. She's a true dynamic character. I also use Anduniell which I quite like. Vilja's voice though.

Sometimes I run her through white run naked just to hear her complain about it, though. I've always wondered that there weren't more of these types of mods out there. Especially now that Skyrim has been out for awhile.

Even if you did find an actress willing to voice act thousands of dialogue lines, It would take you many months to finalize an entire project like this. You could alternatively set Vilja to talk much less (every 2 mins) or not talk at all. I personally find her accent and voice very sexy, especially when she uses lines such as "what is love handles?" the way she pronounces handles is HOT HOT HOT. Like a Swedish holiday girl that teases you all the time. I always have Vilja with me, without her Skyrim would be less interesting.

I've grown used to it some. However the Dunmer witch voiced by the dude trying to sound like an old woman...and it goes on for so long...that drives me to drinking.

Also, what does annoy me is here always busting my balls about the assassin's, thieves guild, and making my other followers clean the house all the time. She's one naggy lady!

I love that line it's adorable.

Maybe I don't see the problems because I played Oblivion on Xbox 360 and Skyrim on PC so  never had the Vilja mod for Oblivion let alone knew it exisited for Oblivion until recently.

I did choose the option of her knowing my character and in my mind (since I never had her in Oblivion) they met while he was running from a crime he committed in High Rock (playing a breton), and stayed in Cyrodiil until he had to flee to Skyrim. (You know roleplay)

It's not the first mod to choose whether a follower has a history with your character or not, Inigo does the same and unlike Inigo you don't have to choose that option or you can even tell her you lied about it.

Her voice I'll admit I didn't like it right away because I had grown accustomed to sCerwiden, Inigo, and Kitiara and Vilja's voice was a giant change from those but it grew on me after a shortime. The only thing that kills me is when she screams DIE! in combat it literally is so loud it hurts my ears. Her accent also reminds of a Russian girl I dated once who spoke very similiar.

I don't understand people obsession with voice acting. On a professional level it severely limits the amount of dialogue options you are going to be presented, morrowind had a a very nice system of having important things voiced, but tons of interesting and branching unvoiced dialogue from random npc's as well.

Now any 3rd party mod you are going to find is going to have amateur voice acting, which is going to sound bad or out of place.

I wouldn't mind the accent if the VA wasn't just so dang bad. She's terrible. Her attempts at emotional inflection sound stilted and all in all she's just not a good actress. The mod itself is absolutely amazing, it's great but I'll never install it because her voice is so bad.

The issue with Vilja's performance and sound quality (at least in the bits produced early on as her voice actress has improved greatly with each update to the mod) and in similar mods could be avoided if everyone just used voice synthesizers then fine tuned the end result with audio editing software.

One wouldn't have to consider actor availability, mood, skill, health, et cetera when one wishes to add content to the mod, something which would help immeasurably when it comes to generating voices for sexual content and no one is willing to lend their voices to the project.

Voice acting is generally cheaper and easier to use (high priced professional voice actors who don't take vocal direction very well are the notable exceptions,of course) so it is doubtful that anyone, be they developer or modder, is going to go for that option any time soon if at all.

Viljas voice acting is terrible. I uninstalled it as soon as I heard that annoying screaking voice. But from all the other aspects mod is great.

me is Viljas voice no matter, I understand anyway not what she says!

there are no German speech output, was already in Oblivion so.

in spite of all is this mod unique and I love this mod just as it is!  ;)

I love her voice too and her alter character 'Emma' has been around since Morrowind. Yes, she has been around for a LONG time :) In the SSE version of Vilja, she has added some horns that help communicate with her but, they do clutter inventory and of course an ES game only has 8 keys to bind something too and I already have all of my hotkeys bound to an item. I love that mod though... Vilja FTW!!!
