Oh i remember that mod. Her voice was fine but after a while I just wanted to stab myself to death because she was never shut up maybe a bug of course. Her never ending monotone comments was terrible...

I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

Myself i dont like her voice all that much. Probably due to being Swe/Nor myself so i get to hear more than enough of that accent every day. :P

For real?  Women sound like Vilja in Sweden.  Damn!  I gotta move over there.  I find Emma's voice both sexy and cute.

My biggest concern with the mod is the fact that Solstheim doesn't add up with Vilja's family and stories about it lol.

Hopefully it will be updated with a new village for Vilja.

^ ditto, that or just make her a werewolf, while keeping the old swedish lady voice so i could love vilja for being a good comedy follower.

I only tried Vilja 1.0 and instantly annoyed by the voice. If I ever met someone in Skyrim with that voice, I'd chop her head off and, I have to admit, that would give me great pleasure. I'd then place the head in my trophy room near all the other heads who once had the "female_young_eager" voice. Matter of personal tastes, no doubt. I don't think her voice sounds like an elderly Swedish lady at all though.

I too found her voice irritating, to say the very least, to make it worse she blabbers about everything everywhere I go, never shut up. And it's the sole reason I decided to uninstall the whole mod and never check back. I have utmost respect for the sheer amount of time and effort they have put into the mod, but her voice just completely turned me off. I agree with others that it's definitely a matter of taste, no point to flame others for "disrespecting" their work, because they are not, it's just a simple expression of their opinions.

Wow, a lot of fanbois in here. Vilja is great, but I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the swedish accent. That's my problem though and if you think her voice is a turn on, keep it to yourself and don't try to force your opinions onto me.

which characters have the female_young_eager voice?, please tell me Mjoll is one of them. IDKY but it always bugged me that redguards, imperials, and argonians don't have accents. then there are all the people here and there with accents that don't match the rest of their races. but nords all have some form of germanic and it's made this game so bad sometimes.

It often sounds like they had only 10 different voice actors at max.

Whenever you hear someone saying "I'd better get going" that's the female-young-eager voice, a trigger for me for a killing spree. Jordis, Sylgja, Victoria Vicci, daughter of Maven the bitch etc. all have that voice.

Actually...Vilja's stories about Solstheim do add up for the lore regarding Solstheim.

Remember, most/almost all of her dialogue was recorded back during the Oblivion days -- remember, before Morrowind was turned into a TES version of Fallout DC, and before Solstheim was a giant refugee camp?  :dodgy:

so you are saying vilja is a 300 year old monster slowly stalking every hero in the hopes of annoying him to death?

well atleast she's interesting now.

lolz, no, I'm saying her stories of Solstheim are throwback to the days before Morrowind was blown up for no apparent story or game reason, and before Solstheim, and its already convoluted lore, was even further mired down.

Remember, there are those of us who actually paid attention to the lore prior to Skyrim, or even Oblivion for that matter.

Lets face it,

Solstheim before to Dragonborn  = Cool Viking Island.

Solstheim after Dragonborn = Giant Refugee Camp populated by homesick dunmer, weird forest people, and ancient dragon worshipers that apparently just appeared out of nowhere.

She in fact would be 300 years old. The problem is that they implemented the option to recognize Vilja as the same Vilja you romanced in Oblivion and to continue from where you left in Oblivion which indeed makes her 300 years old and you the Hero of Kvatch (and just as old as she is) which is also a major lore fuckup.

That's not their fault.  People demanded that Vilja recognizes the player as the Hero of Kvatch.  So to shut up those people they added that feature.  That doesn't mean you have to choose it.  I wen through her whole questline and never chose that option.

I thought you were talking about her references to Solstheim and how they don't necessarily conform to Dragonborn's depiction of Solstheim.  Vilja being the same person from the Oblivion Crisis is a bit of a stretch, granted, but people wanted her to be the same Vilja as from Oblivion, and so she gave us the option.  Besides, is it really that hard to imagine that the PC and Vilja were actually just adventuring across the border a few years back, rather than partaking in the Oblivion Crisis?  Role play a little.

Anyway, I was saying her references to Solstehim were correct when Emma had recorded the dialogue, remember, most of Vilja's dialogue in Skyrim was actually recorded years ago for Oblivion.  Back then, Solstheim was described/depicted as a much, much different place.

Bethesda changed Soltheim almost beyond recognition with Dragonborn, from a Viking-style island to a floating refugee camp populated by embittered dark elves, forest people, and dragon worshipping freaks.

Well i just must say i would not want to be the one re-doing all her voice again  :)  i personally often do my own slight adjustments to mods that i get from others but i do not change anything about her. she is my holy grail i love the way she is. i even thought twice about it to give here something better to wear  ;)  don't even use any of the sex mods on here like lovers comfort or sex addict or pimp her out with the rest of my companions when i am at inns. i know the guys who made that mod put a lot of effort and time into it and i would not want to ruin it. because she is actually pretty fragile to be honest. even though i know that she does change over to her armor when someone attacks her or when she is about to attack someone i always ask her to put on a armor before we go into a cave or unknown area just to be sure that both of us are using some protections  ;)  i found out somewhat later that doing to much of that always asking her to wear and armor and then telling her she don't have to wear armor will brake some part of her script and she doe not change over to what you ask her for if her script brakes in any way then it is a bad thing because for those who did not know her from oblivion and choose to get to know her all over from the scratch it is a long and twisty road and having her braking somewhere along the way is not good since you would have to re-install her and do her quests all over again. also there is another thing that happens when her script brakes like it did for me and that next time when the script tells her to change over to another outfit it will not work and it will keep trying without stopping so when it happens again the script is still trying to get her to change from the first time and the it will just add that request into a line it dos that repeatedly over and over again with out you actually really notice other than she does not want to change her clothes all these scripts requests add up and your savefile remebers it all and starts bloating up for me it went from 13mb to 112mb in just 3 days it eventually made my game crash i then found out it was because her blocked script that it start to bloat so much and for me i had to start my whole game all over on a new character. so i would not change anything about her if i were you.

also just to end this lecture of mine   i would think that in order to change that mod in anyway you would have to have the mod makers permission to do it and i doubt they would allow it but who knows feel free to ask them.

Her voice is the reason I will never install that mod.

Yea same. A lot of people would say otherwise. But she sounds too much like this old lady that lives across my road. Kinda freaks me out.

Can't you just use aduacity change the tone and problem solved though I know it's a lot of work.

I don't find Vilja's voice sexy. I'd sooner describe it as childlike and slightly annoying, and I don't blame the OP for looking for alternatives (Beauty of opinion and right of free speech, right?). But realistically speaking, it won't happen. Vilja mod has a ton of content doing another Voice Over for that would be plenty of work.
