NPC's having a ton of babies

Recommended Posts

I have WickedWhims and MCCC and my NPC's have a TON of  babies. I have been trying for days to figure out how to prevent them from having babies. I have checked every option in WickedWhims and MCCC and cannot find away to prevent NPC's from having babies. I have NPC"s set to %1 pregnancy chance in WickedWhims. Then they keep running off to get married to each other.  What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

or you can just go into deletion cheats in MCCC and you can choose to "eliminate"  the babies or whatever they are called.:naughty: They do tend to get out of control, just sitting there cluttering up npc's houses with cribs

This definitely sounds like an MCCC thing. I remember back when I first installed it, NPC sims were breeding like rabbits and bloating my population until I finally figured it out. I have a Reddit post bookmarked that I like to share when people are trying to get a handle on MCCC. You can scroll down and skip right to the pregnancy stuff but at some point, the whole thing is worth a read.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have been testing with MCCC this afternoon but need a few more in game days to see if the changes have worked.

Thank you BatDood for the information! I'll look over it and try it tomorrow.

WickedWhims only has two real choices for pregnancy that I think could be causing this issue and they are both disabled. I think it might be MCCC. Just have to find the right settings.

2 different pregnancy systems and the EA system is controlled by MCCC.

You can also just disable pregnancy in WW and only enable it when you want to get a sim pregnant.

I have mine set to 100% but disabled, (so all I have to do is change it to Simple Mode).

MCCC can block all the EA spawned babies as I have no kids in my game at all, (population & pregnancy menus).

MCCC Tuner Menu also has settings to disable auto flirting, auto-marriage, auto-propose, etc.

You can look at mine or try it out, just save your old file to desktop in case you need it.

I have both pregnancy systems set up and running simultaneously. I really like the random chance that WW brings to the table but I still want a slight population growth happening in the background so I have my MCCC settings set very low. Also, MCCC only does a check once a week. It took me a long time to finally settle in on the settings that I have currently.

I forget sometimes not everyone uses the same play style as me since I play with aging off and culling disabled.

Didn't like the game spawning endless new NPC's and families so I added NPCC mod to stop it and changed some MCCC settings to help.

Any new sims I wan't to create I just make a few pregnant by my sim and age them up to teen manually so I don't have any kids in my game at all.

Plus I can always create a new sim in CAS if I want one or find some nice ones to download since I only look for unique female sims anyway.

I always have aging on because I like to see the growth and new sims coming into the world. I find it keeps the same save file fresh and interesting. But I will say that my aging is custom through MCCC. Somewhere in between Long and Normal.

It's interesting that you mentioned the NPCC mod because I use that as well. I won't play without it. It really curtails a lot of the random townie crap that happens. I don't know if you have the Star Wars pack but I'll pass on a word of warning: NPCC messes with that pack. I had to change my NPCC settings because of it. I used to have it set up where no townies would generate at all. It's great in that respect but if you go to Batuu, all your townies are sent there, which is okay. BUT when you come back, all those same townies are locked in Batuu. They still show residence in your main world but you can't call them over and you can't visit them at home because they won't be there.

No SW for me but it did give me errors when I first installed University and went there.

NPCC was blocking sims from spawning that were needed for roommates and others.

It takes a bit longer for it to get completely fixed for some new EP's as it usually only gets a temp. hotfix on first update.

I'm ashamed to admit it but I'm using the free version which has been at 1.2.9 for quite some time. I should really toss a few bucks to his Patreon because I see it's at 1.3.1 right now. That version was released in June though so I'm not crazy about throwing money to someone who doesn't regularly update. That version came out in June and still hasn't been made public yet.
