hi, for some reason it just doesnt want to work, either it goes to an infinite loading screen or it doesnt work at all. Its in the "rtbp mod" section with log im pretty sure, because when i deleted that file it worked. Wondering if anyone else has trouble with this. It worked earlier this week now it suddenly doesnt work at all. Idk if i did something but i would like some assistance, thanks!

Perhaps you accidentally changed Direct x9 to Direct X 11 in the game settings

yup youre right! this happened to me before and i fixed it but i had to redownload it and it automaticly starts as X11. thanks!

I have already tried playing without mods, using only the RTBP, but this keeps happening.

Same thing started happening to me just now. Weird, since it worked just fine a few days ago when I played last. I've not updated my game or mods since. Whats going on?

Figured out that you can get around this issue by disconnecting from the internet for the time being

This works, but disabling inbound and outbound connections for the Sims seems to achieve the same thing. This will disable any online options such as the gallery, but all you need to do is go to Firewall > Inbound rules (menu on the left) > New rule (menu on the right) > Program > Find the sims executable > Block connection

Now repeat in the outbound rules menu. 

Hope this helps someone.

Hello Everybody, Im trying to install rtbp and i cant make the mod work, i use the installer and try to install the version RTBP v0.4-p8 2024-04-12 and RTBP v0.4-p9-e1 2024-09-13 too, it told me that wverting has install correctly, but when i open the commander, it told me "Unable to connect to RTBP. trying again in 10 seconds". And in-game i dont see nothing new added. I really don’t know if I did something wrong in the installation or something, I'm really not good at talking about commands and installations, I'm like a grandpa in that, so I request the help of someone to guide me so I can enjoy this great mod. I thank you in advance.

 

By the way, I also wanted to express my enormous enthusiasm for an update for the penis physics for the Sims, i wish we had them soon ;D

I don't know if this will help. i remember it not loading up for me after the install. Took me awhile to figure out. But i opened the file location to where the game is installed in the "Bin" and opened it up with the TS4_Dx9_x64 Because it wouldn't open from my desktop icon anymore after the installation , because i was getting that same message. i think you have to use that to open it.

I noticed my rtbp stopped working after I purchased the faries expansion. I downloaded and installed the mod again and nothing. Ha stj8s happened to anyone else?

Im using Anadius sims version. Said to myself i would never pay EA for games filled with bugs. Its been like 3 years since i play sims 4 with all expansions for free; and RTBP works great

Thank you, brother! You saved me! As a Chinese sims player, when I encounter this kind of mod error, I basically can't find a solution online! I ruled out all the mods that might cause conflicts, but it didn't work in the end. It wasn't until I read the replies to this post one by one that I got a solution! I also had issues with crashing, for me, enabling DX9 in the in-game options and then launching TS4_Launcher_x64.exe instead of TS4_DX9_x64.exe while offline did the trick.

@CPVC I just read that you started writing your own INI library, I think TOML might be of interest to you. It's a modern, well-defined configuration format that is backwards-compatible with (most) INIs, so you could use TOML libraries to parse INIs incl. UTF-8 shenanigans, comments etc.

Not yet, but I'm very close.

 

Edit: This has taken a long time because the DX11 API is drastically different from DX9 and I've basically had to start over. Not only am I learning a new graphics API, but I have to reverse engineer the Sims 4 again to figure out how the game renders things with the new API.

 

I currently have bouncing breasts implemented, but they are very unreliable. They work about 50% of the time and they crap out when you zoom in or out and the sim's LOD changes. Hopefully I'll get these issues figured out soon and I can release an alpha version for testing. After that is taken care of, it should be pretty smooth sailing getting the DX11 version to feature parity with the DX9 version.

 

Anyway, stay tuned.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried scrolling back through the forum but couldn't find a recent answer. Is reshade working with RTBP currently? I tried following the instructions in the readme. In case I missed something, I installed Reshade first and changed the name to reshade.dll and left it in the Bin folder, then installed the current RTBP with the installer.  RTBP works and Reshade compiles everything and the UI works but nothing shows up in game.

 

Edit: Silly me, got it working! 😄 I'm not sure but I think my mistake was installing normal Reshade. I installed the add-on version of Reshade instead (the "Download ReShade with full add-on support" button on their download page), then opened the game after installing it to allow everything to load properly, moved the Reshade d3d9.dll somewhere safe, installed RTBP and ran the game once more before renaming the Reshade .dll file and moving it back into the Bin folder and running the game a final time with both reshade and RTBP now working.

 

Hope this helps anyone else wanting Reshade and RTBP but can't get it working. (take a shot every time i said Reshade)

Hey there! Just a quick question I had for a little while. I have been looking at the log and weirdly enough, even though I have the d3d9.dll file in the game files, it doesn't seem to be finding it, since I get the "No usable custom D3D9 DLL found, using system default". 

 

I was wondering if that was normal or if I did miss a step. The mod does work nonetheless, it's just curious to me that it wouldn't find the custom d3d9 file.

That's normal. RTBP can optionally be chain loaded with other custom DLLs like ReShade or GShade. If it doesn't find one, it will just use the system DLL.
