Real-Time Body Physics (DirectX 11)

Did you ever get around to updating it to DirectX11?

I'm making progress on it. I've got the basics hooked. I'm kinda hoping that Maxis chooses to use D3D11 exclusively going forward, so I can drop D3D9 support. They did drop support for 32 bit computers, so this is a possibility.

I don't want to have to support two API's at once. This really complicates things and I'd rather work on improving RTBP than juggling around two different graphics API's. Dropping D3D9 is, unfortunately, going to leave a lot of people with lower end computers in the dark.

Could you please add a breathing setting to rtbp? When Sims stand still, their chest slowly rises and falls - as if they are breathing. Maybe this can be done with angular physics.

Tysm for the reply! I fully get what you mean and your absolutely correct.

ive played with rtbp for awhile and havent had any issues installing updates for it, but for some reason it isnt working now i just updated my game for the first time in a while so i knew i had to update mods and this. it wasnt working after i updated the game so i figured id update but it still isnt working, ive tried the installer but keep getting an error. so i hoping someone could help me out. i followed the instructions to a t from the read me. played with this mod for so long idk if i could play with out it lol.

Make sure you start the Sims 4 by executing "TS4_DX9_x64.exe". That ensures that the DirectX 9 version of the Sims 4 is being launched. At this time RTBP requires this.

Thanks for your great mod! What are you working on now? What features do you plan to add to it in the future?

I've been working on adding an internal GUI, fixing the shadow issue, and the prep work for an eventual migration to DirectX 11. That and really refining and organizing the code. RTBP has gotten so big that it's a little hard to navigate.

The GUI might be ready for prime time, so maybe I'll put out a new experimental release soon.

so I updated my game today and while trying to run the game I get a popup saying:

unable to open log file

 basic_ios::clear: iostream error

I'm launching in DX9 and without RTBP my game loads fine

any ideas would be much appreciated

Probably a permission error. Make sure RTBP has access to "...\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\RTBP\" and all files within it. You can delete the "RTBP" folder and RTBP will recreate it with the correct permissions and write a default settings file. After that, RTBP should be able to write to it's log file.

this worked! thank you so much.

Witchcraft. Just a little preview of what's to come. I'll be putting out a new experimental release soon, for those of you brave enough to test it. You'll be able to play with the integrated GUI very soon.

I tossed a little Sinatra into the video, just for fun. I came back from a wedding between two close friends just a couple days ago. Their first dance song was "Fly Me to the Moon", so I'm in a crooner sort of mood.

Stay classy, my friends. Let's meet later for cocktails.

You're going to have to unzip the attached file. I guess LoversLab doesn't support video files anymore.

I hope you won't remove the settings for angular physics.

Oh, no, I'll be bringing that back. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. When I release the next experimental preview, they will be there.

Edit: And there we have it:

I'm glad people are experimenting with angular physics. I haven't been super impressed by my implementation in RTBP. I think I need to read some more physics books, but still, glad that people are testing them out.

Added angular physics.

Angular physics allows to achieve better results.

I noticed that in version v0.4-p8 RTBP the angular physics works differently than in previous versions. If earlier the angular physics settings worked only if the sim was standing still, now they work constantly and when the sim is moving or when he is standing.

I also noticed that the angular physics settings work simultaneously for both breasts and butt, for men and women. It would be better if this could be done separately.

To get the chest of a motionless Sim to move, you need to quickly move the sliders in RTBP Commander, after which the chest starts to move. But this does not last long, and after a few seconds the chest is motionless again.

In previous versions it worked differently, the angular physics settings only worked when the sim was motionless and they worked constantly - it was much more convenient.

Angular physics settings have only two parameters, this is of course not enough, it would be great if you added more settings there.

Hi creator,

I got this error message from RTBP log. May I know what's the problem and how can I fix this issue?

Unable to connect to RTBP's simulation server: [WinError 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
Attempt 10/10. Retrying in 10 seconds.

For some reason RTBP Commander couldn't connect to RTBP proper. The Sims 4 needs to be running and RTBP has to be properly installed. The Sims 4 needs to have permission to listen on TCP port 8008 (BOOB). If everything is right, the Commander will be able to talk to RTBP and change things on the fly.

The Commander is not required to use RTBP.

Is it possible to attach physics to the vagina or anus?

Аt the moment there are not many animations that support animated vagina аnd a huge number of animations that do not support it. It would be great if you could do something about this.

I'm pretty sure the meshes from WickedWhims have built in vaginal and anal bones. I'm looking at a mesh right now in Blender and yes, they have those bones. The bones exist, it's just that animators need to take advantage of them.

hi, im on mac and i can't find a bin folder?

It's not going to work on an Apple computer, unfortunately. There are possibly ways that you could get around this, but it would require a lot of work. I've designed RTBP around D3D9, which is Windows specific, for the most part. That being said, RTBP is completely developed, built, and tested in Linux. There are ways to get around Microsoft's monopoly.

That's the thing, some animators don't want to use them, that's why I asked this question.

Combine penis movement with vagina and anus opening for all animations.

So I've been out of the loop for a little, but did you manage to find time to work on the balls physics for females in animations? I remember it was something asked at one point, but I don't know how hard it is to actually realize nor if it's already included, thanks!

At this time I'd rather stick to a binary gender system in RTBP for efficiency and convenience on my part. RTBP has to analyze the mesh geometrically and search for secondary sexual characteristics, like breasts, a protruding butt, wide shoulders, etc, to determine gender so that the sim mesh matches up with the settings.
