fred44244 Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Yes, this is the error after following the readme for reshade

I'm not sure what happened. It was working before, but then, all of a sudden it just stopped working. I didn't really change anything on my end that could cause this, so I think it could be something with ReShade and forks of it like GShade. I'm still trying to find a solution to the issue. Sorry about that. 1
DatGreninja Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Is it possible to change the settings file while in game. I downloaded multiple settings files because Im not sure which one i like more and would like to switch between them as i test them

I downloaded multiple settings files because Im not sure which one i like more and would like to switch between them as i test them The "loadSettingsFile" command ought to do that for you. It will instruct RTBP to load the specified settings file and reset all the simulators. You'll have to specify the settings file you'd like to load as the first argument to the command.

How would i go about doing that. Do i just replace the settings file in the Config Override folder and reload RTBP?

That or use the commander and type the command into the command line and execute. You can also use the Commander to change the settings on the fly so you can see things happen in real time. Tell you what, though, I'll add an option to the Commander to simplify this. I'll add a button or something you can click to load a settings file in the next version of the commander. 1
ReluctantHucow Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 Does this have instructions for Mac? I literally can't find the file you're saying to edit. VSCode also doesn't seem to want to open or edit any of the other files related to the game. Any assistance would be appreciated. A little confused trying to make this work....

RTBP is not going to work on Mac, unfortunately. Blame Bill Gates and Steve Jobs's decades long dick waving contest for this. Technically, it is possible, but it's not going to be easy.
Jublionn Posted January 7, 2024 Posted January 7, 2024 (edited) Will RTBP work on a cracked copy of the game? edit: I have the Sims 4 from when it became free, I have some expansions bought but cracked it for the rest bc I wasn't going to spend that much for the rest of locked content. When I start it up on my legit version it works but doesn't for the cracked version. It just keeps telling me that it doesn't read my installation location as not a valid directory. When I try using the RTBP commander, it says it won't connect and that it will try again in 10 seconds. Thanks in advance. RTBP Mod Log.txt Edited January 7, 2024 by Jublionn Elaboration

RTBP Mod Log.txt 1.75 kB · 0 downloads Yes, it will work with cracked versions of the Sims 4. You can trust me on that ;-). Where is your cracked version installed? You just need to make sure that RTBP's "d3d9.dll" is in the same directory as your Sims 4 game's "TS4_x64.exe". You just have to make sure that you have the right directory for whichever installation you're targeting.

Try using the experimental release. It's slightly better in this regard. Sorry about that, I'll keep looking for solutions to this problem. There's a limit to how many bones can influence a vertex. The standard is 4, so only 4 bones can operate on a vertex. This applies to most game engines, including the Sims 4. If the mesh is overly complex, with many bones blending their influences together, there's not much I can do. The default mesh used by Wicked Whims utilizes bones from the pelvis, spine, thighs, and other things. In the event that RTBP can't find a free blend index, it replaces the least influential bone. That's probably going to make the butt look pretty frumpy, like what you see here. Maybe there's a better solution to this. I'll see what I can do. 1
HerbHoover Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 (edited) I disabled the butt physics in mine for a few reasons: 1) I can't get it to work well with any of the high-quality bottom meshes (with increased vertices) that I like to use, like a bunch of Noir's. Not that I use them, but Wicked Whims default bottoms for both male and female look terrible with the physics. It works decently with the Maxis default bottoms. Though I have to premise that statement to say that default physics settings for butt all look bad with 2) the default (or even a little) gravity setting, because it heavily warps the clothes in visually unappealing way by constantly pulling downwards on them in a visually bad-looking way. The only way to get that to look OK I found was to remove most of the gravity effect and increase mass effect to try to compensate. 3) Even after doing all that, even with the default Maxis meshes, the butt physics does cause bottom clothes to pass through top clothes when movement occurs, which takes away from it looking OK. 4) BTW, when butt physics are enabled I also notice that creating a new game CAS introduction screen with the shadow person gets a little messed up - for some reason, it causes the head of the shadow person to turn a different color (not a big deal, but why would it do that?). I haven't really experimented with the balls physics yet, so I can't comment on it. My main draw to this was the breast physics, and it does pretty well with that. There are issues with some meshes not being compatible and thus not getting the physics effects. For the meshes that do get affected by the physics, some meshes look better than others, due to either weird lumpy effects vs smooth or the edges of the breasts not connecting to the rest of the top mesh body well with the physics applied. Some of this also has to do with slider effects that move vertices in different ways too. Overall, I found good combinations that work for me and I think the breast physics are worth having in my game. The only issue with the breast physics that I still have is that certain default clothes (mainly male, though I guess there is at least 1 top outfit that is unisex shared by both male and female) have very bizarre physics being applied to around the shoulder area making an absolute freak show when those clothes show up in the game. lol Edited January 14, 2024 by HerbHoover
alexlll Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Could you add a custom button to turn RTBP on/off ?

Vault_69 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I may just be me but everytime I load the game up I have to re-input all of the sliders because when I go to save my settings, this is the message it gives me: This is my first time seeing the Error message, completely diff message from Unknown command (idk tho) good work btw
