Real-Time Body Physics (DirectX 11)

Hello CPVC, how are you? I used the available tool and changed some values for testing. After that I played a little bit and tested the results, everything worked fine, taking the finger off the sims that got down and moved like it was a body part with movement, it doesn't bother me too much, but as I said it's important to report. Then I logged into CAS and edited some sims and the moves disappeared after that, I switched to other game families and the moves disappeared. Well, here's the log file anyway, so you can analyze it if you want. I hope I'm not bothering you too much. Thank you so much for all your work!

Update: I discovered through trial and error that what was causing my sim's finger to drop and move it was a non-default top that I recently downloaded from the dumbaby. I also deleted the log file from the Bin folder and I opened the game again and the movements went back to normal.

how to disable physic for males plz :x im lazy i think

You need to find your settings file, which is at "[GAME_INSTALL_DIRECTORY]/RTBP/Settings.ini". Find the line that starts with "enableMaleButtPhysics" and change the value after the "=" sign from "true" to "false".

Thank you for your reply, and it's a really good job you've done with this mod i endorse

Hi everybody, sorry I haven't been responding to everyone as frequently. I've been really slammed at work, due to a variety of reasons.

Whoops, I forgot I already asked you for your log. Sorry, it's a little difficult keeping track of everyone's issues. I need to take better notes.

I'm making progress on tracking down the Intel GPU related bugs. I think that the Sims 4 might use a slightly different rendering pipeline on Intel hardware. Intel integrated GPUs are quite a bit less powerful than AMD and NVidia ones and Maxis might have added some vendor-specific optimizations. I'll keep working on getting to the bottom of it. (I wish my Intel test computer wasn't so slow, though. It takes like five minutes to load the Sims...)

The finger is another known issue. Vertex selection isn't perfected quite yet. I'll see if I can tighten it down a bit. I have a few ideas.

Hmmm, your log file doesn't even include any exception info... I'm not sure what's causing your problem. I'll see if I can add even more verbose error reporting to RTBP. Maybe then we can figure out what's going on.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Does this error out for anyone with MCC?  I keep getting a simulation error.

It looks like the RTBP Mod running in the Sims 4 failed to connect to the simulation server. Do you have the simulation server disabled or something?

I should have anticipated this and made the RTBP Mod fail in a more elegant fashion, given that the simulation server is optional at this time. Sorry about that. My bad. You should be able to ignore this error.

I was using this mod for quite sometimes and really loved it, but now i'm getting an mc command center script error when i use this mod. Not sure if it's the new version of this mod or a game patch.

I tried to ignore the message and keep playing because this mod is really important to me and i'm willing to get bugs and error messages for it.

But i get a ctd pretty soon if i continue playing, so yeah sadly i had to remove it. I'm sure that it's this mod, if i remove it everything works fine.

Sadly this mod crashes my game when I open up CAS if you know the reason behind this issue let me know thanks in advance.

I probably sound like a broken record now, but could you post your log file? Thanks!

Would you mind posting your log file and the MC Command Center script error?

Yes, sorry about that. A lot of people are experiencing this problem. If you could share any error messages or other information, it would be extremely helpful.

No it's connected to the server but at the same time using RTBP Commander doesn't appear to change anything in real time.  When I do run RTBP it says it connects but doesn't do anything.  I can however affect the settings using the .ini file.  So I'm not sure.

The mod seem to be working well for me. But I'm unsure about a couple of things. Like, am I supposed to use RTBP Commander or RTBP Gui Tool? or both?

"Commander" just seem like the same as "GUI tool" but with commands and feature toggles, but withoput the reset value buttons. I don't really get it.

Yeah about that... Not sure anymore it was your mod causing the error messages, i cleaned up my mod folder and no errors. I still got a ctd after 10 minutes but probably has nothing to do with this mod, my pc is acting wierd.

"RTBP Commander" is the new name for the "RTBP GUI". Use the "RTBP Commander". It is an updated version of the "RTBP GUI" or "RTBP Graphical User Interface". Sorry for the confusion. From now on, all new releases of the GUI will be referred to as the "RTBP Commander".

Thanks. I read some earlier posts on here and figured it out. It's a very good mod and I really do encourage you to continue development on it! I've been testing it with the animated breats from Tonicmole's Bouncing Sim Boobies, and they seem work well and just enhance eachother.

A comment on the gravity variable, it drags parts a bit much down. Resulting in some artifacting like the hard triangular edge on the lower back of a sim(as im sure you're seen the posts on). If gravity is set to a low value like 1 or maybe 2 however it does not drag the bodypart down like that. A low gravity value probably has some quirks of its own too though.

Another strange problem I've been running into occasionally, and only with a few female sims, the upper body and parts of the legs will sometimes have physics applied to them and look like a a piece of rubber haha. This does not last for very long however. I dont really know how to reproduce it or fix it. I do use costom bodyparts also.

Lastly, the bodyparts with physics applied will sometimes jitter out of position for 1 frameor thereabout, and kinda reset back. And when it does happen it happends steadily for a while almost like a slow rhythm. Don't know if you're aware of this.

I know all of these problems might just be from my mod setup. But i thought it was worth mentioning.

I cannot make RTBP Commander work. I used to have the previous version on my computer (The one named RTBP GUI) but I lost it after formatting the hard drive.

My settings.ini file begins as follows:

[rtbp.general]
startCommandServer = true
startSimulationServer = true
showLogoAtStartup = true
enableBreastPhysics = true
enableFemaleButtPhysics = true
enableMaleButtPhysics = false
enableBallsPhysics = false

Yet when I open the Commander it doesn't read these settings and even if it detects and can halt the game it won't update the settings in real time. The "ping" command doesn't work either.

ping
Unknown command "ping"

If I press "Save settings" it appears to do so but I need real time interactions to adjust it (and keep these settings the next time I open it).

Am I missing a framework or something else?

[EDIT]

Could it be related to the game installation path or some random permissions? My game is installed in my D drive and the RTBP files are in "D:\OriginGames\The Sims 4\Game\Bin"

The log says it could not find the dx9 hook and also defaults to some settings that have nothing to do with my INI file, but similar to what I see in the Commander, so maybe it's not reading the INI at all.

: Hooking Direct3D 9...
: Custom DirectX 9 DLL not found. Using system DLL.
: Using DirectX DLL file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3d9.dll"
: Hooking successful
: Hooked device created

    startSimulationServer 1
    showLogoAtStartup 1
    enableBreastPhysics 1
    enableFemaleButtPhysics 1
    enableMaleButtPhysics 1
    enableBallsPhysics 1

Thank you.

I might be able to apply a constant offset to the simulators so when they are at equilibrium, they don't sag below their CAS positions. I'll look into it.

Yeah, that is a known problem. Still working on fixing it.

This is a known issue as well. My theory is that the Sims 4 has uploaded a different version of the same mesh to the GPU and RTBP detects it as a new mesh and the simulators are recreated.

Hmmm... It looks like everything is working, but depending on your GPU, the physics might not work. I can't explain why your settings aren't loaded correctly. It could be a path or permission error. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Hopefully I'll get to the bottom of this soon enough.

Thanks for looking into this. If it's any help I've tried two PCs with Nvidia GPUs, a 2080ti and a 1060. Both with the latest drivers.

Sadly I do not know at what point they stopped working with the mod, due to having formatted the 2080ti PC soon after updating RTBP and replacing the GUI with Commander and installing it from scratch on the 1060 one.

The log detects the game and expansion packs correctly, writes the file correctly.

I run Windows 10 in Spanish but the file path is clear of weird characters.

Keep up the great work!
