Crag Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Hi. (Posted this is the Skyrim thread, and it was suggested to repost here). This is Skyrim LE. Been banging me head against the walls trying to figure this out. On a few NPC's wearing the same common clothing, the knees and below are backward. Naked, the NPC's are fine. It does not happen to ALL NPC's wearing the same clothes, just a few now and then. It is random. The picture show Sven with the issue. But last game he was fine., Enabling/Disabling sometimes fixes the issue. It is not game breaking, just annoying. I have played musical mods, and if it was a clothing mod, wouldn't it happen to all in the same outfit? Clothing and Clutter Fixes, and Rustic Clothing are the only clothing mods I have.. No other mod effects clothes. I do have armor mods, but again, this doesn't happen on any armor. I posted about this is the XPMSE forum on Nexus, but everyone says it cant be it. I do have FNIS of course, and I've run it and rerun it. Maybe it's some FNIS switch I an not aware of? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks....

Crag Posted July 21, 2020 Author Posted July 21, 2020 My ENB is correct. I doubted it was memory as well. It is not the same NPC's. They are random per game. Naked they are fine. Different game different NPC's. And it's only a handful. stephen_npc's.esp changes the look of certain npc's and adds stats. It does not change the body at all. I've created/used (and updated) this mod for years, and years. This problem is recent. It really started happening when I switched to an ENB and XPMSE. Then I tried removing XPMSE (by reinstalling the game) and using the built in SOS body, Started a new game and saw it again. It must be a mod.. I only have two mods which effect clothes... Clothing and Clutter Fixes and Runic (but Runic is just textures). So it must be something else. Is there a way to use the console in game to determine which mods is effecting a NPC's?
Crag Posted July 21, 2020 Author Posted July 21, 2020 It's got to be Clothing and Clutter Fixes. That I installed a couple of months ago, around the time this issue started. I dismiss it becuase that mod is listed on the STEP guide. But maybe it conflicts with something. Also, the NPC's it happens to are not edited in stephen_npc's. My mod only updates hirelings which includes Sven. Uggg... I suppose remove Clothing and Clutter Fixes and give it a go.

If you use MO or Vortex you can set it so that XPMSE overwrites SOS. Otherwise you can uninstall them both. Reinstall SOS and deselect the option for installing the skeleton (it will give a warning but ignore it) and then reinstall XPMSE letting it overwrite everything. I still can't see this being the issue as it would, presumably, affect everyone who used the skeleton.

In this case since it doesnt happen all the time you probably won't get any pay dirt out of that function. What mod manager are using?

And the same with a mod, Why certain NPC's and why just one outfit? Must be something common among them. I don't get it. I guess the only thing is to reinstall again and check mod for mod. PS: Ok I am now certain it is CCF. I wast aware that it replaces certain NPC's clothes. Time to start a new game with Weapons & Armor Fixes Remade and Rustic Clothing (also ran into some issues with Interesting NPC's which I already reported.. nothing earth shaking though). I'm told I installed them in the incorrect order. And CCF has a major update I was also not aware of (with a MCM menu now),. I'll report here if this is indeed the issue in case anyone else ever runs into this issue. Thanks all for your help. Hopefully I won't need anymore help.

After playing for hours and traveling through the world I've only seen 2 NPC with this issue. And disabling/enabling fixes it. I suppose I'll end up reinstalling the game (yet again) at some point. CCF slammed the game for me. But it's not so much of a big deal now. Thanks for the help.

Are you playing on a save or is this a new game? Just thinking that the problem may be gone completely in a new game.

I am not convinced all it's textures or changes are gone. But it's not a big deal now. And I plan on moving over to SE at some point anyway. Thanks.
