Hey,

I'm not an expert of ENB but you should tell which ENB preset you plan to use and posting a screenshot of your issue; this could help other members to solve your issue

I GOT IT! Thanks for the response

the problem was the iBlur for skyrimprefs

but my mod manager had it’s own prioritized Skyrimprefs.ini meaning I was never changing anything because I was using the native prefs

Not to beat a dead horse, but... *immediately begins beating dead horse*

  • What body textures are you using that featured shadow-jaggies so bad you had to change your ini file to fix them?
  • What was your iBlur set to previously?
  • What did you change your iBlur to?
  • What mod manager has the hubris to maintain a secret copy of SkyrimPrefs.ini and somehow force the game to use that instead of the "normal" one?
  • In what path did you eventually locate the copy of SkyrimPrefs.ini that your game is actually using?
  • Does your rogue mod manager also maintain hidden copies of any other ini files and somehow force the game to use them?
  • Why on earth would any mod manager do that?

Asking because your "I GOT IT" post is vague and raises more questions than it answers. The answers to those questions might help someone else who is having similar horribad shadow effects and/or "I keep changing my ini file but nothing actually changes" problems.

Navetsea textures, but im 100% it wasnt the texture's fault (It was making dots on all shadows in the game)
It was set 0
Setting it to 3 is what fixed it
Im using ModOrganizer2
It was located here C:\Users\monte\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim\profiles\Default\skyrimprefs.ini

Within the folder there is all skyrim.ini, setting.ini, initweaks.ini and load order text files.

And I dont know exactly why they make separate settings. My only guess would be that the mod manager works as a launcher of some sort.

Because that's part of MO profiles. Each profile has its own set of ini files (when creating a new profile MO provides the default ini files, same as the ones created when one first launch the Skyrim Launcher) and the user can disable this behaviour with 2 clicks at any point (or clone a profile to keep the same custom ini files, or use a completely new set of ini files or whatever the user wants to do for each created profile). TBH it might be better if this setting came disabled by default (it could avoid some misconceptions for new users), but it's by no means a hidden thing. MO profiles and file isolation are like the bread and butter of why people praise or criticize MO.

Because MO2 is evil. Pure Evil.

Everyone knows this just no one is talking about it. It's like the Mindflayer from Stranger Things S2.

NMM, is a much better system.

Ok so it takes ages to install large mods, probably due to it backing up and overwriting things.

And, of course, if you really fuck up with NMM your game could be wrecked, not just that save, your game.

BUT! At least you know where everything is and, besides, what's life without a little danger? Am I right?

Disclaimer: If anyone is reading this thinking I am making a good case for NMM, I'm not, stay away from it. If you are currently using it and it's working fine for you then Shhh.. Don't tell anyone. A Mod Organiser Acolyte will be along shortly to denounce my heresy :D

That's why it's mostly used by people who have gone over to the dark side and run Skyrim Sith Edition. ??

Damned right you're right. Real men don't need their hand held by no mod manager. A mod manageress might be a different kettle of kippers.

OMG of course- it makes perfect sense now! I can think of many reasons why I might want different game ini settings on a per-profile basis! Thanks for making the light go off in my brain!

Yeah, thanks, that light exploded into my fevered brain (if any) as soon as I saw the path ("blahblah\PROFILES\blahblahblah") that xXDeliteXx's response indicated.

I had to upvote your response. Don't tell the MO acolytes, though, I'm trying to keep a low PROFILE.... oh, wait... crap.

If your mod manageress reminds you of fish, you might want to give her this link:  https://www.summerseve.com/feminine-hygiene-products/douche/sweet-romance Jus' sayin'...
