I created a poison that is designed only to work on the undead but despite not working on anybody else it also doesn't work on the undead. I made it via the creation kit and I don't know how to nullify their poison immunity. What must I do to accomplish this this?

Well technically I made it with x-edit but whatevs

Not really a poison then, is it? More of a potion of harmlessness. ☹️

Pretty much. Given it is made of silver you would think it would do something to the undead. Thankfully I got it to work on the draugr but skeletons still resist somehow. It is like they got no vital organs or somethin. Guess I should show a few pictures of what I'm brewing. Well the stats anyway.

Spoiler

You're not supposed to be able to. They have no circulation and no working organs. It would make more sense to embalm them than poison them. Increased fire damage is the logical trade-off.

Ah but what holds them together?

Ligaments, skin, a skeletal system, bandages, hopes and prayers (and magic).

Wrong! Superglue.

But I am playing by the supernatural here so yes magic is an acceptable answer. And ligaments and skin and a skeleton system and actually you're totally right. I don't know what I was thinking.

I've just remembered that I have a 'lingering damage undead' potion in my alchemy crafting menu.

? Indeed, that rings a bell.

Though I have no idea which mods adds that without loading the whole lot into T5E and search for it.

Possibly CACO? I have no idea where to look in the esp.

EDIT: Found the rascal. It is CACO

CACO

? That's not in my main load order , but I would guess that idea was picked up in another mod, too. Or the other way around.

I tried replicating what CACO did and it was a royal pain in the ass I must say. Not only did kryptopyr change the way poison resistances work for ghosts, skeletons, draugr, and vampires they also edited every other poison in the whole dammed game just to bypass their stupid poison resistances ?.

Good news is that it worked. I should consider buffing the damage of silver weapons cause those are pathetic. What were the ways of dealing with undead with the previous Elder Scrolls?

IIRC, some, but not all undead had resistance vs so called "normal" weapons.

"Normal" weapon was any weapon that was made of material cheaper then silver(iron, steel basicaly) or it did not have magical enchantement.

You didn't do more damage, you'd just bypass damage resistance.

"Silver" is the classical fantasy world answer to undead creatures ?

So bigger guns are better huh. Can't say I agree or disagree with that approach.

Not to go completely off topic but why do draugr have flashlight eyes? Like any in lore reason?

Enchanted weapons, silver weapons and offensive magic unless one earned a special skill which allowed one to actually harm the undead, including ghosts, with one's bare hands.

You have a skill that gives you bear hands? Sweet.
