HentaiGnome Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I never actually wanted to be banned from Nexus, so I actually never really did much on there and played it safe...I mostly posted positive comments (I just skipped any negativity if I didn't like a mod), post screenshots and...that is it. I did have a Skyrim fix mod for Sounds of Skyrim, but that was only mod I had up. See, this is the part that sickens me the most. You've definitely been victimized by the idiocy of the Nexus moderators, and you're not alone. To think that you've "played it safe" all throughout this time, by posting "positive comments", withholding "negativity", posting only screenshots, AND EVEN UPLOADING A FIX FOR A MOD... yet you do one so-called "bad" thing and then suddenly BAN! It's like all the good/neutral things you've done in the past didn't even matter. I really hate that. What's the point of acting as Mr. Nice Guy, you know? Because apparently all the things you could contribute to the community doesn't even matter in the end...
Guest Vendayn Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 This will be the last time I say anything about this, since honestly, I just find it funny and I won't respond to anything more...But I'm guessing the Nexus moderators never go to the beach, or live in a place that gets hot or go outside. Unless they live in igloos. If they did in the former, they would have a heart attack of what females (of all ages) wear.
VictoriaG Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I doubt her race was ever an issue, she is however wearing an outfit that is on the nexus banned list, Sinblood has specifically told the nexus moderators that none of his outfits are allowed to be ported to Skyrim and all current ports have been done without permission and as such are on their little catalogue of illegal ports/rips. I looked at your profile if it's the same name as here you are not showing as banned. Group Members

I looked at your profile if it's the same name as here you are not showing as banned. Group Members If that is why I was banned (well when I try to login to my main account, it shows up as banned...I can't get into it at all)...then that is kinda stupider than if I was banned for the race. At least that would make some sense...getting banned for a screenshot of an armor is rather fail. Well, I sent them off an email earlier today. Maybe they banned me by mistake or something else is wrong...I just can't see why I would actually be banned for an armor.
VictoriaG Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Well accounts of banned folks always show Group Banned in their profiles, yours doesn't and there is also no ban notice. Typically if you have had no interaction with the staff before you would at the most get a formal warning, most times on first offenders they just simply delete the image, you might get a pm explaining why depending on the staff member doing the deletion. If it was Dante most time the image simply goes *poof*.
Guest Vendayn Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Strange. I couldn't get into my account at work or here at home. Maybe there is something else wrong then, and I'm not actually banned...dunno why it shows that when I attempt to login. But maybe Nexus team will fix whatever is wrong. Though my 2nd account is def banned for whatever reason, probably cause I asked "why is my main account banned and why are my screenshots wiped"...but I would think the person would actually look heh. Oh well, I'll just wait and see what Nexus says. Maybe my account is glitched or there is something on my end. Could be my firewall, since I completely redid it the other day...dunno why that would do anything, but I'm not very computer techy. (edit: Didn't get an email from them either about any account being banned. Just an email from my 2nd account. So maybe my account "Vendayn" is actually bugged or something else is wrong.)
VictoriaG Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 You mention you have a second account there and it's banned? Have you created this account to get around a previous ban? And are they aware it's a second account? They don't allow more than one accounts there and definately not if you have been banned for something there.
Guest Vendayn Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I actually have two accounts, yes. I have had two since I first found Nexus back sometime shortly after Oblivion was released. I even told one of the moderators later that I had two, and since both accounts were in good standing and both had sort of successful mods on them...I was able to keep them. I even used both for Fallout 3, and plenty of moderators saw the mod I put up there. I had a few "mods" actually. But no one ever cared I actually had two. Never created an account to get around a ban however. I never actually was banned from Nexus. I just had two...probably made one for one of my friends I used to have or something at the time, since he never was allowed to have an email (even though he was like 16 and way older xD)...but the moderators never cared. Anyway, I got back into my main account. I got a friend to get on chat to help. So I wasn't banned after all. For some reason my account was listed as banned, but it wasn't...dunno to be honest what exactly it was, that is just what my friend told me. It was an easy fix though. Probably something from deleting screenshots? anyway, I thought I was banned, but it was a glitch or something. I dunno. But, I just can't put more screenshots up of my character since I guess that armor isn't allowed. On the bright side, I can use my main account now. Nothing about my 2nd account, except for the 3 day ban on it. Actually since my IP is dynamic and I have it setup where my PC shows up in random places in Europe for everyone who tries to see my location, they probably might not even know that one is mine In any case...at least my account is fixed. Didn't even get a warning or private message about the screenshots, so that is cool I guess that there is no warning on the account. I would think if I broke a rule and having to have my screenshots deleted, they would have warned me or something. Guess I've been a member long enough and have never really broken the rules, that they let it slide or something.
Guest Vendayn Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I'm actually rather surprised I didn't get a warning or anything. Even though I showed a clothing mod that isn't allowed on Nexus. Would think they would have given me an infraction or something. So, that is really cool of them I guess. But dunno why my account was glitched to begin with, but its fixed. Now I can go back to downloading and giving good comments to mods I like. I'll just upload any future screenshots to imgur is all. That way no rules are being broken.
VictoriaG Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Well good it's all working now, you can still post your character just find another legit outfit for her. Depending on the staff member sometimes they just remove, but I'm pretty sure they keep a record somewhere incase the person persists.
Guest Vendayn Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Yeah maybe I just need to find another outfit. I really like the one I have now though.I do have Ars Magicka, not sure if I can put that one up though since it is rather revealing (no nudity, but a lot of exposure). I'll take a look around the forums and see if I can find something else I guess. Probably another black-colored outfit, since that is the theme I went with my character.
VictoriaG Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Here's a suggestion: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25852 I would be wary of using anything found on here on nexus, they don't like this place over on Nexus.

That actually looks rather awesome. I'll try it out and see how it looks on my character. I'll avoid using anything here on Nexus in terms of clothing to be on safe side...race seems fine, nothing mentioned about that. I'll just use the stuff here for personal screenshots.
leftforlife Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 it's not like Skyrim has children in it already And it's not like they have a child murder mod on their site.
Pixie-K Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 What I find to be ironically funny is that during my first few months in the Nexus I was posting many abusive comments, (mainly being that I found the nexus through /b/) and I never got so much as a warning....

Same here, although I just bashed lore-crusaders hatin' on mods (and still do) so that may be the reason I never got a warning.
Sir Artsy Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 You can get banned from nexus by just starting a "burning discussion" with a guy who says that "muskets dont belong to viking age." They could ban you and not that other guy.Using some non-approved hairs can get you banned or they give you warning and you cant post anything for number of days. Before i had.. 100 or so pics on skyrim nexus, half of them were just deleted so i guess i was lucky because non-triggerhappy mod did something without slapping me around.Reason for picture removal: FF13 Fang hair
Rayblue Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 The best way to be safe is not to mention what cosmetic mods are in use, especially those considered prohibited by Nex.
Northern Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Well, just tell me how could that happen that Tojo's Dragons was banned from Nexus? It was very popular, some folks mentioning about a homophobic moderator. Is that true? If that is, what is about their directives for modding freedom? This "freedom" is more limited than it seems? If that is a fault of one homophobic moderator, why we still can't find Tojo's Dragons at the Nexus? There must be a reason, and however i'm not involved at all, it would be good to know what happened.
HanPL Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 @Northern. About Tojo mods. “Hi Chirasul,I’ve taken a look at the report in the staff area and it looks like we’ve decided that we’d just rather not host the mod. We’re not really happy with the images contained within the mod and while we respect your work, the time you put in it and the freedom you have to express yourself, we’d just rather not host it on the Nexus.I hope you understand.Regards,Robin” Usually they take down mods & creators for breaking some rules or if mod may cause harm to their site. But mostly they can do whatever they want and ban you. As you all know you can't even write loverslab in PM on Nexus becasue it will be censored so who know's if they don't have some sort of "alarm " to let them know you might be possible breaking the rules even in PM lol. If I remember correctly all those strict rules happend after they moved to new host before that there was no problem with posting for example pictures containing nudity in "Pictures " section now if you do it you might get banned. Which for me is weird since you still can post adult mods with adult pics in adult section lol. Also Robin earns shi*tload of money from ads so any risk that this might end because of breaking some rules that host have is strong impusle to remove mod & author from site even if they have contributed greatly. (Skyrim Monster Mod etc )
Northern Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Well, thanks for the infos HanPL, im quite disappointed at the moment. The Loverslab word censoring is a disrespect for this whole community. No idea where are they heading.
HanPL Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Well I saw more than once that they think we are some sort of hub for stolen work. You know for them we take someones work, tweak it a bit and then release here without asking authors for permission. Which in most cases is not true since people who post mods here ask for permission first. But like everything started after Nexus moved to new host. Before that everything was ok now just try to write or start topic containing anything related to LoversPK/LoversLab etc and you get one way ticked out of Nexus lol.
Rayblue Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Well, thanks for the infos HanPL, im quite disappointed at the moment. The Loverslab word censoring is a disrespect for this whole community. No idea where are they heading. They fear our presence as dissenters and raiders of the realm, which is a good thing.
polluxval Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 They removed Monster Mod because the author had some copyrighted material. The problem was that the company itself contacted Nexus personally, so they removed and banned the MM author. Since that day (and even before), they got very paranoid and have an eagle eye with files containing copyright material and they prefer to ban and remove before taking any major risk (sometimes a single report is enough). This isn't have anything to do about the excesive use of power from some mods, just because you insinuated something or said something they didnt like. But we are forgetting that Nexus is a private site and that the administrator can do anything he like for better of worse.

This is so weird, well, every piece of mod that people creates belongs to Bethesda, and until financial requests or trades happens, it is all okay. Take a look at Youtube, it is full of copyright material! Of course, if the author of music contacts Youtube they will remove, but this is only a mod! Who cares at all, and getting mods work is much more different than clicking a few at a web page. Im not persuaded. Perhaps if you can detail MM a bit.
