New Vegas 2?

Wow, is it really possible? I like the fact Bethesda aren't immediately hostile to the idea. I mean, if another company throws money at it and they make part of the profit, then why not? Win-win to me, especially because for hardcore Fallout fans (who like the lore) an Obsidian led, west cost based story would be a lot more interesting.

Plus, you'd get to see the ramifications of your decisions on Fallout New Vegas.

Don't be so sure.

I mean, the original Fallout didn't exactly have many plot variations, and they still shoehorned the Vault Dweller into a complete and utter moron who thought going back to nature in a nuclear desert was a good idea.

F:NV has what, 4 outcomes? Well okay the Legion doesn't count since they're doomed to self-destruct whether they win or lose, but still.

I don't see why bethesda would subject to it , New Vegas was great and made good sales , so they release fallout 4 and while they are working on elder scrolls VI they have Obsidian make a game as good and maybe even better than their own.

as far as they make NEW VEGAS as a real NEW f*** VEGAS  (not a small crappy shit lame city with a few lights), it will be awesome.

I don't really prefer either east- or westside. Although I have to admit, that I liked Beth's wasteland a lot more than that of FNV. FNV is superior in pretty much everything else though.

I don't know why Beth would be hostile to the idea of franchising it again. They made it happen for New Vegas and why would they forfeit an additional source of income by getting as much as possible from the current Skyrim/(Fallout 4) engine. I like the Boneyard (LA) idea, New Vegas again would be a little dull, I think. The size of the city (world) will most likely directly correlate with the time the devs give Obsidian for making their game.

I think it would depend on how its implemented really. Which conclusion to New Vegas they choose as canon to expand from. The only games so far to have a direct progression were 1 and 2, and 2 started on the assumption that 1 ended with "best" results. But what, exactly, would be considered the "best" ending for NV? Obviously legion would be the bad ending, but which would be the canon "good" ending, House or Yes-Man?

House. House presents several good arguments as to why he should be in charge, whereas Yes-Man is based on the random lust for power of someone who got shot in the head, following the plan of the guy who shot them, with the added risk of Yes-Man just taking over the whole thing one day.

That said since Avellone has said he wants to nuke everything again and start on a clean slate (why he can't just do a prequel I don't know), I'd guess Obsidian would go with an NCR victory followed by a civil war with nukes involved.

Granted this would also happen a lot easier with a Legion victory but I don't want them to win. Anything. Ever.

I agree. I hate to say that 'cos I never play a House ending 'cos he wanted me to nuke the Brotherhood. (I accept, it's 'cos I'm pro-Brotherhood, a bias picked up from playing Fallout 3 first). But, the rest of his vision seemed to be the most forward looking of anyone's.

Mother F*cker ! , so i can finally continue my journey?

since its a sequel i'm guessing your still the badass courier?

Hope lots and lots of things gets fixed.

Now i'm more excited for this than fo4.

No Fallout has ever been a "direct" sequel, so I doubt the courier will be returning directly. Probably a descendant, like Fallout 2.

As for storyline, no matter which ending you get the Legion is only repelled, not exterminated. New Caesar anyone?

Maybe the Legion will have some problems of their own. There's always a bigger fish.

Anyway, any new fallout is good news. What would be nice is if somewhere down the line the old & the new can coexist - much as I like FNV I do miss the destroyed cityscape of FO3. Beth's efforts may not have been everybody's taste (let's not go there) but they definitely outshine obsidian in the visual department. If they could properly team up it might yield a game that has the best of both.

As much as I would love to see that, I doubt that this is going to happen, considering Obsidians current workload (Project Eternity, South Park, some devs are working on Wasteland 2, ...). But I agree with the notion, that Beth really nailed the world design. I know that some people called it something like "Wasteland Funfair", because it's all conveniently close together and some locations might not make a whole lot of sense. But the overall feel and composition of the world was great fun to explore.

My only hope is, that Beth can finally manage mid- and late-game balance without the use of mods, so you're not a half-god in a vault suit by that point of the game. I know this is a long shot, because imo they never got that completely right before.

I agree. Exploring the wasteland in FO3 was my favourite part of the game, period. Not so much with FNV, sadly. If Beth did the levels, weapons and all that, and Obsidian did the dialogue and main quest, I think they'd be on to a winner.

It's only fair each work to their own strengths, though I doubt Beth will have the common sense and humility required to do something like that.

Not interested in another west coast game.  Would rather explore some new areas, sick of NCR etc.. have had NCR in 2 games now ffs.

More East Coast and BoS/Enclave is what we need.

No more west coast and NO LA.. those who havn't played Fallout 1 can get bent imo. We've already had LA..

Whoa, settle down there tiger. We've had the Enclave in three, how come no one's sick of that?

I'm also tired of the BoS. I don't so much mind NCR/Legion - one of the central premises of Fallout is getting humanity back on its feet in some form or another; The Master in FO1, The Enclave/NCR in FO2... and then the NCR/Legion in FNV. I don't see a problem in having a game set in the West coast or even the Mojave, and I doubt when they mean LA it will *just* be LA, more like LA acting as a central hub with other areas/wasteland around it. Plus, there's no reason why you couldn't move freely from the Mojave to LA and vice versa.

Definitely with ChancellorKremlin here, i prefer that they would "rebuild" FO3 since it has pretty complicated subway that makes the game much more interested well of course it must based on FNV new system like ammo, weapon mod etc..

Guess you know the only way to enter certain region between town is using the subway where we can easily encounter those hideous ghouls on every dark corner...haha that what makes me kept going and going with my 3 year old save in FO3 ..since i love playing stalker and metro 2033. Dont really care where FO4 will take place.

kind of disapointed when playing FNV at the first time. Luckily Dj Mystro and Dogtown01 bring back the feel of exploring dark underground with their AWOP and Monster MOD..

The central feature of the fallout games is the vaults, created by VaultTec. In game,  VaultTec is an American company building for American citizens, so probably not.

Oh maybe other countries had secret vault projects that were never revealed to americans? And I don't think this is failure of "fallout" games, it's a failure of bethesda who bought series and never tried to change concept a bit.
