Well, thank you very much for your patience. Much appreciate it. I will give it a try and if still not working, I'd be better waiting for the new AAF. But I am getting a feeling something's not right outside this game file. I checked the f4se_loader.log in Users\XXX\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\F4SE and at the bottom, I found this:

WARNING: something has started the runtime outside of f4se_loader's control.
F4SE will probably not function correctly.
Try running f4se_loader as an administrator, or check for conflicts with a virus scanner.

FYI: I did disable virus scanner and run f4se as an administrator. But it's the same result. Just uploaded my xSE PluginPreloader.log for everyone's information. If anyone is willing to do a cross check with their own one, be my guest.

xSE PluginPreloader.log 11.02 kB · 0 downloads

You're starting the game by running f4se_loader.exe rather than fallout4.exe, yes? If you aren't, you must do so in order to use F4SE. It's essentially a wrapper around the real game executable.

Yes, f4se_loader.exe rather than fallout4.exe all the time.

If you're insistent on running Fallout 4 version 1.10.984 or later right now, you'll need to separately install a newer build of LLFP that works with the F4SE version you're using, and overwrite AAF's included LLFP files with that instead. But there may be other mods you're using that are also not ready for the new game version yet.

The current advice from AAF support folks is to downgrade your game and mods for now, at least until the next AAF version is released.

Edit: And just to be clear, I'm still using Fallout 4 1.10.163 and F4SE 0.6.23 along with the current (pre-NG) Buffout 4 and xSE Plugin Preloader 0.2.5.1... I'm following AAF development updates in Discord, but I personally don't intend to try the new game version until there's an AAF release that targets it officially, and I'm a reasonably seasoned AAF mod user and creator.

Installing the new build of LLFP actually works! Well, I mean the Buffout 4 still doesn't. So I installed the LLFP v50, then uninstalled the Buffout but kept the modified xSE PluginPreloader, Address Library and UAP and so far, I haven't encountered any serious problem with the whole AAF. Interesting, huh?  ( ̄_ ̄|||)

No, not particularly interesting. This has been covered extensively in earlier comments already. It's not supported by the wonderfully dedicated people managing the help channels in the AAF Discord and who write this manual, because they have to deal with lots of minimally-capable users. If you were able to figure it out, good for you, but AAF support folks aren't recommending upgrading to the new game version until the next AAF release which will bundle a correct LLFP version, because they don't want to deal with the headaches from even more confused users.

Also, the Buffout 4 recommendation was there primarily to increase ScaleForm memory pools used by the Fallout 4 user interface, which AAF also relies on. If the game engine runs out of available SF memory, you'll get random crashes to desktop. It's possible you're not using other mods that make extensive additions to the HUD, Pip-Boy interface, perks menu, etc, but for users who are then increasing available SF memory avoids those game crashes.

Yeah, I indeed tend to keep it simple and thank you for your help. I quitted fallout 4 for a few years and recently came back because of the NG update. Anyway, all the best to AAF support folks and cheers to all those who makes this mod community of ours lively for such a long time.

Interesting.  I'm going to keep a copy of this...

Well, here's my situation:

Fallout 4 v1.10.984.0

F4SE v0.7.2

Looksmenu v1.7.0

MCM v1.40 beta2

AAF  v171-0_beta

Vanilla/Kinky/Creatures Themes v210819.0

Buffout 4 v1.28.6

Address Library  - AIO

xSE PluginPreloader v0.3

UAP v2.6.64-1

I did uninstall mods from Buffout 4 to UAP once and check if the game started (with a new game), and yes it started and AAF just stopped loading at 80%. I think that's normal considering these uninstalling.

Oh,boy...

Oi mates, I've tried getting into the AFF discord, I have read all in the Terms and Rules, clicked every possible reaction. Although english is not my native language I think I've read well enough to feel dumb as fuck to still not know how to access the download section. Heck, after reading 4-5 times I even translated the terms of use just in case I was missing something.

What am I doing wrong? I mean I get the thing is to read all, but I've read and still can't figure it out. If it's something that can't be written on public I understand, just PM me, omg I feel so duuumb.

I'm sorry as this must have been posted several times, but I'm loosing my mind right now

Hi there, i got quite used on modding Skyrim (all but all versions), just starting modding FO4 - GOG - with MO2.

Need AAF of course, otherwise no fun, eh ?

I found AAF v161.1 'beta' still on Nexus (wonderful 100% free sharing historical site which seems to be now charged for inaccuracy by some people). Thanks to God Nexus made this very appropriate rule to prohibit fanciful removal of already-given mods, so you can still find some of them.

A few mods on Loverslab ask for AAF v171, but this is no (no more ?) available. It exists on the Patreon account but of course only for WIP ones who pay for a superior level... Lol. Any way it looks like an on-test version.

I do appreciate a lot the enormous work of modders who graciously share with their fans. I fully understand too how difficult & long it takes to build complex systems accorded to the xxx versions of our preferred RPGs successively provided by the merchant sites. So I get patient and respectful.

But well & hell, when it perfectly works with one version, keep it so and still available on reachable sites : Nexus, Loverslab, and even a few others.

I don't give a f*ck about FO4 NG & all the crappy stuff elaborated by buggesgda & wolves to suck more money, exactly as I ultimately did for Skyrim, I'll stick to the GOG version : runtime 1.10.163 if I'm not wrong. And NO DRM !!

So, no comes the unevitable question : how to get the last build AAF release for 1.10.163 ?

Please help folks... Many thanks

You are quite misinformed. AAF 171 is available freely downloadable from the Discord linked at the beginning of this manual.

OK, got it. On Dicord clicking the nuclear bomb (horrific symbol but it's about FO4 so ok) open the Grail.

Anyway - and still respectfully - I completely disagree about using Discord channel for providing releases, as well as Patreon (this one good for special oufits, decoration, music or whatever, I understand that artists and creators ask for some financial help sometimes. But NOT frameworks, these are for free sharing, otherwise it's killing RPG modding).

Using Discord for chatting, reporting uses & misuses & problems, is OK. Because Discord is a communication media, that's why I quite never use it, despite I created an account. Same for Facebook & others. I have my private life that I wouldn't EVER share, and I feel the need of communication when I have real & uregent things to discuss about.

In real life, I got friends & mates. No need of medias for that.

About Nexus and other sites, I guess some policies may make some modders feel uneasy or irritated. But I guess these rules have good reasons too. In 10 years or more we've seen the best & the worse (especially from merchant sites ... but not exclusively), personal stupid wars, burnouts, disappea

... disappearance of great mods & essential versions, and so on.

If personal work should be considered of course, never forget that great RPGs keep alive because of many players, modders, afficionados, dreamers, and FREE SHARING, and STABILITY.

Kisses and hugs to everyone.

Some extra thoughts... Hosting this way a framework on any media, assorted with a battery of Terms of use & Rules to be accepted by the basic user, let go to another singular process

than freely hosting and freely sharing on reliable historic sites (at least reliable for now, everything is subject to change...). These sites include charts which provide sufficient protection to software creators, as long as these creators also respect a few rules, giving some reliability expected by the people they address to trough these sites. In one of my previous lives (as a cat I got many), I was a lawyer. A good one.

This strange hosting may look like a protective behaviour of a shy author who fears prosecution or stealth ... but why ? Loverslab is full of hardcore mods - and still standing. Myself I had sometimes the idea that in our crazy times, where every natural need seems turned false and unnatural by a no-name powerful mediatic community (of many sides), everything about lust, sex & co could go prohibited (maybe if straight & natural, especially if non-consensual because of manipulated paranoïa that we see overall in medias).

That could look also, and it would be sad,  like a side-walk to escape from the free-sharing-playing world, a private attempt to build a company with private rules (disguised as a media channel) for guaranty (by legal menace of course, that's the purpose of Terms & Rule lines) of 'intellectual property'ownership. When it's about software that {should be shared for free and] implement videogames belonging to other commercial companies (here Beth & Microsoft), it sounds rather weird. The gaming and modding community should be aware of such things and jump on the brakes. Private ownership always and ever breaks every community work, and MODDING IS 100% COMMUNITY WORK.

Best example is what shitty people made off wonderful Unix base : one made free Linux, lighweight-concept soft platform imagined to slower the build-in artificial need of powerful & costful machines (M*crofork) and help normal people to work on cheap & reliable systems. Besides, the ugly west-coast vampires, which so many idiots admire, turned it into the most rentable worldwide company : RottenFruit (with worm inside asking for private versions of any soft working with Ios), builder of most expensive and brilliant stuff for snobby dumbs - triumph of egoistic and financial spirit, exact contrary of the creator of Linux. And both are based on the same Unix system... One side humanist sharing, other side vampires. And the humanist side is now full of opportunistic sofware developpers who provides many-many private versions... Bleh. Worm in the fruit, ever.

Mind this and don't let fear govern your behaviours. We, community of players & modders, can & will support forever courageous people who work to help us dreaming in our RPG  meta-worlds. Do you really need to protect yourself so much ?

Also, more ppl whining about AAF. Go download NAF. I hear it’s still under active dev as well. Quit crying about mod authors trying to control the distribution of their own mods. FFS. Hear Hear..

Hey now baby nobody hurting anybody by whining now. No use cryin about the cryin. lol. You can even still appreciate the labor, the glory! that went into a completely...trash project that performs like trash, user-friendly like trash or some ish, AND luv it! Because look around, that's almost all there is. Maybe it's in large part the system peeps are working with in the first place, maybe project organizers and devs are often cultish obsessive yoda kings or some shit u know? Have u met a %10 normal person on the Loverslab? No, you haven't. A framework can be supported, trashy, and good, and worthy of praise, and have really strange people on the dev project who may not have social skills, all at the same time. *gasp* Multiple truths! Incredible isn't it

Let em whine. They aint hurtin nobody. lol

Make AAF available to everyone. Stop hiding behind a Discord server. This is to the point of ridiculousness. So what if you can do other animations besides sex animations. If it's on LoversLab, than at least people can find it and download it.

Seconded. It's kinda a pain to go to multiple websites to get the LL stuff.

One stop shopping is a thing!

I *have* Fallout 4 10.984.........

F4SE 10.984 works great.

Buffout NG & the Fallout PGM 10.984 throws an error.

........and make sure you don't bring it up on their Nexus Page, you'll be perma-banned.

(Which is why I'm bringing it up here).

Ok, just saw the post saying we're waiting on a new AAF? Hopefully the flaccid schlong problem will be addressed??
