Can someone look at my logs and give me a diagnosis? I keep getting CTD.

Papyrus.0.log 37.78 kB · 0 downloads

The papyrus log is a blunt instrument for diagnosing CTD. It only infrequently gives the cause although it can give clues. What I would suggest is that you instead give us:

1) a more complete description of any pattern to your CTDs and, if you can't see one, then 2-3 examples of times/places when you have had CTD,

2) a copy of your load order and, just for completeness

3) a copy of your FNIS output.

The answer wont be in there. Papyrus logs are buffered so the crash happens before the log gets to that point.

Try providing more info about when the crashes occur and what you have done about it.

That is not always correct.

To @OP do you have Grimy Plugin installed and do you have CTD at the same places?

And as the others in the tread says, tell us more.

Everything was working fine (been testing on this save for about half an hour before it started crashing) I was running around markarth area and leaving the Reach towards the east and all of a sudden near the shrine of Dibella it started crashing. Now every time I play the save it crashes after like 5 or so minutes.

I was installing a few mods here and there. The most recent mods I installed are

MorePerkPerLevel
SkyTweak
Grimy Plugin

FileAccess Interface for Skyrim Scripts - FISS
More Dragon Loot
Unique Region Names v5 Dawnguard Version

More Interesting Loot for Skyrim
Dark Souls Boss and Monsters Masks

I have since disabled all of these and the crashes continue.

So I don't have a bunch of visual overhaul mods. I have an ENB and aweather mod. NO texture mods other than body textures. I don't have over 11k animations. So it's not too many textures and it's not too many animations. I don't know what else could be causing it. It doesn't feel like there is a specific trigger b/c the crashes happen in random locations just over time so I don't think its a broken part of the map or anything like that.

  • The Papyrus log is not a crash log. Skyrim does not have any crash handlers that write to the log.
  • Not everything in the Papyrus log is a problem. There are plenty of ordinary things that get written to the log, and there are plenty of harmless warnings (like those from Game.GetFormFromFile(...)).
  • Not every script error in the Papyrus log is a problem. Sometimes, the game can unload things out from under a script (most notably cells), and that can cause scripts to fail (harmlessly, if the author knew what they were doing).
  • There are certain log errors that indicate that a user has been uninstalling mods during a playthrough without cleaning their save. However, these log errors can have other causes (e.g. mods that are missing files, perhaps because someone screwed up when trying to implement a way for their mods to communicate with others).

Sauce.

The papyrus log is to see what's thrown at the script engine of the game. Most likely you'll see stuff working, maybe with some errors/warnings, but you won't get to see the critical failure.

I did find out that you did have Grimy plugin in your Papyrus log and there is reports on the page that it creates issues. Keep in mind that it is not updated or maintained since 2015.

For to rule out that plugin you need to tell us when do your CTD happens?

And as dontKnow says, not all are usefull reading in it, you need to know what to look for. Most of the things there is for debugging purpose.

The CTD as Grey Cloud did say are not recorded in it, since the game have already closed.

Your loadorder is decent but it have issues. Fiss should be the first plugin that loads after the esm.

You missing Hires patch.

Most random crashes, i.e. at different times and places are memory related.

Do you have the stability tools installed?

You have an ENB so you have ENBoost but double-check your settings.

Crash Fixes.

SKSE Plugin Preloader

Load Game CTD Fix (stops ILS).

Use Bethini to set your ini files.

Why?

HOW TO USE(Players)

1. Download and install FISS (Extract to folder “Skyrim/Data/”
2. Activate FISS.esp in your load order
3. Place any FISS supporting mod after that

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48265

I let LOOT do its thing and it puts FISS where it and the mods which require FISS work.

Stability tools? what is that?
Crash fixes? I have it but its not enabled. whenever I enable it it just causes ctd on startup, even after I messed around with it's ini files.

I have Safety Load

I have the preloader

Danger, Will Robinson.

Are you using ENB/ENBoost?

Grey Cloud literally gave you the list.

ENB/ENBoost

Crash Fixes.

SKSE Plugin Preloader

Load Game CTD Fix (stops ILS)

BethINI.

Make sure you setup the ini from crash fixes as instructed in that mod's description. If you crash with it enabled you didn't install the required skse preloader or you didn't setup the ini as instructed.

Oh I didn't realize he meant Stability Tools as the name of the list. Yeah I checked everything off the list. I change ExpandSystemMemoryx64 from true to false and now crash fixes doesn't make me crash anymore.

That's an enb file, nothing to do with crashfixes, otherwise that's the recommended value for that setting. Tell us if you can reproduce more CTDs and see if it happens in a certain point or at random.

I got rid of Grimy's plugin and I got rid of all the Sounds of Skyrim and I'm no longer crashing. Thanks so much for all your help!
