I really don't see what the violation is. The rar has 1 file in it. Looks like I was lucky and got it from the blog before it was blocked as well. I don't use mediafail much if at all anymore why use it when mega is 10X better then it. Game looks pretty good a bit confusing at what to do at times. Made it to the 2nd area so far.  

 

I imagine that the opening scenes violate mediafire's "no sexually explicit material" policy. Of course they do not define what they mean by that, nor why that is their policy, but presumably they've bought into the idea that violence is good and sex is bad.

 

(Edit: and presumably they are unable to distinguish between not only between past and present but between reality and fantasy - in other words, they are probably thinking that by deleting some fantasies that they are stopping the events depicted in the stories from happening in real life.)

I picked Mediafire, because it has the fastest free download speed for users, but it has been annoying to other RAGS developer lately. So, I uploaded to rapidgator right now until I find a better solution. (link in op)

Mega is free and pretty fast download time mediafire stopped being a good one back when they started their little stunt awhile back then removing peoples downloads from their site and spewing strikes to half or more of their members using the site. Dropbox seems to be an ok alternative if you don't have much traffic.  10GB per day seems like a lot until you have a few hundred people downloading your 100mb game.

I probably will consider mega, but last time I download something from it using firefox, it make me download a plugin first. Is that still the case?

There are more than 5500 downloads of 0.30. I think the first day download is over 800 copies, which is more than 40gb of traffic. @__@....so drop box probably won't work.

Reinstalled RAGS (2.4.0.0 version) and re downloaded the demo. Still get the same error message

 

 

Ive had issues with this in the past. The rags file got corrupted somehow. I usually download a backup and copy (not cut) it over if the main files gets corrupted. Never open the backup, just use it to overwrite the old copy if it goes bad. Your saves should work with the overidden file.

 

EDIT: and by rags file I mean the game file, not the player.

rapidgator is a bad choice if you want people to download it. Most countries have slow download speeds to it if you don't install their download manager. Me being one of them, I only get like 50kb a sec from there.

The game is currently in a short hiatus because of real life stuff leaves me with very little free time to work on it.   Development should be resume sometime around June.

Hello,

 

Played the demo and can frankly say it's one of the best RAGS game I have played. You have invested a lot of time into text and it really helps you get immersed in the story. Even if you reach a bad end you get a lot of description of what happens with the PC (the stripper ending). That has been something that really pisses me off with most of the other RAGS game I have played - you reach a bad end it's just that. no more description added. Different ways to solve problems is also a nice thing to have and I am sure it takes a lot of time and it might branch the game a lot, but I think it is worth the effort in the end.

 

Will add few questions/suggestions into a spoiler.

 

 

1) It is quite possible for the player to end up with no money to buy the drugs for Silver. I know there is the option to intimidate the dealer but some ways to earn money that doesn't involve chance could be nice.

2) Are you planning to add some time variable to the game? Asking this considering that after the second train molestation scene, the PC is told to be on the last train (or something like that). I know the event in question is not in the Demo, but made me curious how to trigger it (before i read the walk-through).

 

 

 

I hope real life is good to you and you find time to work on this more in the future (because I am selfish and I like this game a lot and want to see more of it )

Thanks for all the kinds words, I am glad that my 200-300 hours didn't go wasted.

 

As for your questions:

 

1) Currently, there aren't any ways to earn money other than gambling and stealing from a person that you knocked out cold. There will be at least 2 side quests added to the beginning of the game in the future though.

2) The main storyline of the game is divided into two sections of city exploration. After you adventure further into the main story, you will return to the city few days later. Therefore, you can't trigger the 3rd molestation scene right now. (also...I haven't written it yet )

 

 

I will start working on it again in the beginning of June if everything goes as I planned. =]
