xyzxyz Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Hi, I have a problem with the merc Jenassa. She was my follower for many days until she was replaced by a quest-related follower. After the end of the quest I can't recruit her again. She lost the hire dialogue. The relationshiprank is fine and setting the followercount to 0 changes nothing. Other followers work fine, just not her. And yes, I have the money to pay her^^ Any idea what else I can do?
donttouchmethere Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I had that issue with her too, but that was in combination with Devious Followers. Might be an issue that she is a Merc. Would also like to know if there is a solution to the buggy Merc recruitment.

You can check to make sure that she has the potential follower faction OR you can just add it to her (both use the console). The faction number is 5c84d so the command would be: addfac 5c84d 1 And see if that doesn't add it back.

And I have a problem that I can't leave the dialogue until I do something. Just walking away or closing it doesn't work.

I would look in skyrim.esm in xedit with all mods loaded and look at npc/janessa quest/dialogue follower and quest/Hireling quest,all from skyrim.esm and see if any of 3 are being overwriting, i except janessa and dialogue follower quest is overwriting, probably safely too, but we should look

They all work fine. i'm not familiar with quest, but i found a mod for it, do you use The Book of Sex mod? can you give me some context to her being broke when being replaced with Calcelmo? Was she a follower at the time and quest removed her opposed to you having dismissed her, if so try to load a save prior to her being replaced and dismiss her.

She was a follower and got replaced by Calcelmo (like when Farkas replaces your follower in the companion quest). I didn't dismiss her myself. Sounds like she still has currenthireling faction set at 0,which would not allow dialogue for rehiring. im guessing if you had regular follower instead of hireling it might of set faction back right. I like skooma too,so you never answered about using Book of Sex mod, wondering if vanilla quest threw you off or mod.
