I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

I have 2 videos that were specifically made and are included in the Wicked Whims mod.
All my other video packages that are available for download are WW compatible as well (meaning, they can be played through WW's "Watch Porn" TV interaction)

 

If you've never installed CinErotique before, then you probably don't have any of my old files, so you likely don't have to delete anything, but to be sure, you can run this Windows batch script I wrote to check if you have any outdated CE files lurking around - just in case.

Hi PECO! First of a all, thanks for the great work you're doing. I've got an issue, unfortunatelly. I updated the framework file, but videos are played slow. Do I need to update all of the vidoe packages that I have to get rid of that bug? Thank you in advance!

Peco will answer in a bit, but yes, you need to re-download the videos.

If you still have the old v6.x video package files, then yes, you have to delete those and re-download the new updated ones made for v7.x, as the old video packages use a different encoding standard, which will usually result with either a messed up speed or garbled sound when paired with the latest framework.

• To quickly find all the outdated CinErotique files in your Mods folder, you can run this Windows batch script I wrote. It will list all files you need to get rid of.
• If you want to mass download all files, please refer to this forum post for more details and a full tutorial.

I just downloaded the mod with the videos yesterday, bought the satellite but my sim is unable to watch individual videos, only able to shuffle. Do you know what might cause the problem and/or how could I solve it? thank you in advance!

I don't know, it's hard to say based on this info.

• Did you place the satellite dish on the lot? It won't work from the inventory.
• Instead of the satellite dish option, did you try the Watch Porn Channel > Unlock all Premium Channels > This TV only option. Does that work?

When you say "sim is only able to shuffle", you mean the only porn channel available for the sim to watch on the TV is Watch Porn Channel > Special Channels > Shuffle Mode ?

You could also maybe send some screenshots showing where on the lot was the satellite dish placed + what the TVs Pie menu is showing (root level + inside Watch Porn submenu, etc.

I tried placing the setallite on the roof and on the ground but changing the placement didnt help. I tried unlocking it only for one tv but I still have this issue

Hmmm... strange... it looks almost like there are some parts of the mod that are missing copletely (like, you've deleted all the channel modules)...

Did you install the mod correctly? Can you send me screenshots of the following folders:

• Mods > CinErotique
• Mods > CinErotique > MODULES
• Mods > CinErotique > VIDEOS

Disregard the file path on the first two images, I just didn't bother to rename my separate test folder just for the screenshots.

 

If you're using Windows, try to run the script from this post in your Mods folder to make sure that you have no outdated files left behind.

 

Also, did you try it with other families on another lot as well? Maybe on a fresh save? Using a different kind of TV set?

If those still don't yield different outcomes, then it's likely a compatibility issue with some other mod... in that case ⬇️

 

If you have MC Command Center installed, You could generate and attach a system log for me, that would be helpful:

• How to generate a log:
  Click on Sim > MC Command Center > Sim Commands > Logging Commands > System Info log
  This will create a mc_systeminfo.html file in your Mods > MC Command Center folder.
  Please attach (don't copy paste!) that file for me.

Some new content for that channel is in the planning phase, but don't expect it to drop any time soon. probably-maybe-possibly only after the summer.

Also, I don't know if you are aware of this, but all always on displays have a muted ? option as well for each channel, so you can just use that and play your own music in the club through the stereos or DJ or whatever.

"Watch TV" is cancelled when the TV is not a premium, although I am not sure if this is due to SNB Bills interacting with the mod.

Also, can you make the videos not show up when using the "Watch TV" interaction?

I'm not familiar with SNB Bills, never used it, so I don't know. Could be an issue with this mod. I will look into it, but if it's a compatibility clash with SNB Bills, then there isn't much I can do about that.

 

Edit: looking at the code, yeah, it looks like it's possible under certain circumstances for a sim to randomly trying to select one of the porn channels even if the premium porn channels are still locked, so yes, these cases could result of the interaction just canceling out automatically.
I will update the relevant code to add some more tests to check for these specific instances.

What do you mean by "make videos not showing up" using Watch TV? No menu items "shows up" using that interaction, the sim just picks a random channel. Or you mean you want me to remove the possibility of a sim watching porn when picking the "Watch TV" interaction?

Hi ya Peco, Quick question, I used the 6 version loved it, and decided to take the plunge and install the 7.0 version, and all new files. Everything checks with cmd batch. I can get shuffle mode to work and preview channel. The videos rental {Rent} shows up but nothing is shown {under view all}, even after verifying everything is in the The Sims 4\Mods\CinErotique\VIDEOS\ {about 30 new videos or so}

.... I've gotten everything to work fine with 6.x but nothing but shuffle under 7.0... does your mod need the Patron version mod subscription to function? 

I couldn't get it to work with Wicked Whims LL, it was completely updated and working with everything else....  please note, I am not using Wicked Whims LL now, however I have used it in the past and can return to it later...the only differences I could tell was the "Watch Porn" and Porn Social interactions. However the simmies do watch it {Shuffle} under watch current channel and get the buff anyways, why can't I change video?

No, the mod does not require any Patreon subscription, in fact the LL and Patreon version of the framework are the exact same, there are no paywall locked features in the framework what so ever.

 

There are a couple of steps I have to ask you to do, so we can try to solve your problem:

 

First, please try starting a completely new game and choose one of the already existing sim families (like the Pancakes, or something). Check if you can unlock CinErotique on their TV, and if the channels show up there or not.

  Click on Sim > MC Command Center > Sim Commands > Logging Commands > System Info log

Hmmm starting as pancake family....  I've never thought of that actually, most of my play throughs have been from the starting menu. I do have a crap load of TV's in the build menu... could be something there.. maybe....I don't use MC Cmd but have a exception log from TwistedMexi better exceptions. I'll let you know in a while.

Yeah, if you can attach a BE-ExceptionReport.html report that's fine too, as it's very similar to what MCCC generates.

BUG ALERT

 

A new bug was discovered regarding _listing and selling stacked items on Plopsy_ (like figurines, figurine boxes, etc.).

 

What it affects / How it manifests:

The bug affects certain stacked objects in the inventory that are either listed or sold on Plopsy.
When you click on an object stack to List on Plopsy, the game will mark the whole stack as listed, instead of listing only one of them as it should do normally. However, the problem really starts when somebody actually wants to buy the listed objects and you need to Ship them through the mailbox.

The sim will walk to the mailbox, does the shipping animation, receives the money for selling the item, but the objects will stuck in your inventory, no matter how many times you repeat the Ship on Plopsy interaction. (it's actually an infinite money glitch at this point, lol)

 

 

I found what's causing the issue, and will release an update soon to patch this, but that will not fix any listed/sold stacked items you already have in your inventory.
I found a wonky fix for that, it's not elegant, but it seems to work, but you'll need to install TMEX's All Cheats mod for it first.

 

How to fix already stuck items:

1. Click stacked object in inventory > Place in World
2. Shift-Click the object after it was placed down by the sim > Destroy Object (Debug)
   at this point depending on your situation, the problem might be fixed, but if not, follow up with
3. Click on the Phone > Travel > Travel - select any destination... but the neighboring lot will do just fine. ?
4. Once on the visited lot, Click on the sim's portrait and select Go Home.
5. Now your inventory should be fixed, and you should be able to actually ship the stuck object.
