So I have a strange problem with the cin-reality channel. I am not getting any error report or LE. But I first noticed it when trying to place the always on tv for that channel. Game just goes to not responding and never recovers. The other always-on tv's for the other 2 channels work fine. I decided to test the actual channels on a regular tv, and same thing. Cinerotique and RAW work just fine, I change to the reality channel, its starts the promo bit, then game freezes and sticks non-responding.

 

My game and mods are updated to latest versions before this last update for the paranormal pack. I grabbed all the files at once, and everything is fine except for that one channel and the always on tv's for it. Using the sport channel replacement for Cine-Reality. Romance replacement for Cinerotique, and News replacement for RAW.

 

Not really sure why just that one channel, if it was everything I'd figure I just installed the files wrong.

okay, i just tested this on the latest game version with the exact same setup you described, everything works fine, but i think i know what your problem is:

 

the mod does that (freezing) when it can't find any installed video content for a particular channel.
So in CineReality's case, the channel starts, plays the promo (the eye thing - it's included in the core shared assets package), then the mod jumps to the video playlist, and checks what videos are installed.
If the mod can't find any matching content for the channel, it gets into an infinite loop, and the game freezes & crashes.

(don't forget to unzip them. :D)

 

let me know if this solved your freezing issues.

 

PS: i will think up something, and include some sort of safeguard for this "problem" in a future version.

 

Addendum from a later date: As of version 5.4, there's a failsafe built into the mod, so this particular freezing problem shouldn't happen anymore.

LOL I'm an idiot. I have those packs, and yup I didn't unzip them! Usually they show as a folder icon with the zipper, but for some reason they are the same icon as the package files. Just noticed 2 others for Raw and CinErotique I did the same thing! Thanks for your help!

You need to update the core mod files. The installers (!CinErotique_Custom_Installer_[v5.4].7z or !CinErotique_Express_Installer_[v5.4].7z) are on the top of the list in the Downloads section.

 

Files affected by this update are:

  • All iterations of the CinErotique1_ReplaceXXXXX.package files.
  • All iterations of the CinErotique2RAW_ReplaceXXXXX.package files.
  • All iterations of the CinErotique3Reality_ReplaceXXXXX.package files.

I've seen in multiple NSFW S4 discord channels with many people looking for M/M vids - me included.

Is there any chance you may change your mind & consider using your talent to add M/M vids to your large selection?  If not, any reason why?

Honestly, it's highly unlikely I'll change my mind on this. No special reason why, really, I simply just like to make vids on themes that I find personally interesting.

 

You probably already know Hyungry, but if not, check his stuff out, he specializes on making M/M machinimas.

Okay... can't blame me for asking ;) cause you have talent - really seems like you have a background in film.  I'd no idea where to start with the machinimas lol, but thanks for sharing the info!
