Well, based on that it sounds like you're leaving autonomy on, using sims not in your active household or using regular game interactions. It's important to remember that these scenarios I set up are all staged. I put all the sims in the same household using cheat commands (twistedmexi's full house cheat mod), I switch off autonomy, add the lot trait that discourages visitors, and I basically only play animations using pose player and WW, and use TOOL to position sims. 

 

To put it short there's a lot of trickery and editing that goes into this ?

I didn't know twistedmexi had a mod like that, nice; figured you were using MCCC to cheat household size. Didn't think of using the lot trait either. Yeah, I've got autonomy off, just always seems like something stupid happens that dorks things up. Great video, thanks for posting it, and thanks for the pointers on setting a scene up.

First off want to say that I love your Sims, have for a long time now. Your style of making sims fits well with the existing TS4 aesthetic. Even if you just import your tray files without any of the mods your sims match up well with the existing townies in the game while still standing out on their own. I feel like many mod creators and even the sims team themselves have their go to shapes and aesthetics for making sims so it's nice to see something different that still fits the existing aesthetic of TS4.

 

Not only are your original sims great but your makeover sims are equally as fantastic. I thought your Urbz makeovers were particularly impressive given how exaggerated the original game's art style was & how you managed to make them fit TS4.

 

Speaking of makeovers I saw earlier in the thread you mentioned that many of your makeovers start from existing or unfinished sims you've done. I was curious if you have any that you could use for the Pancake family or if you'd have any interest in doing the Pancakes? The official Sims twitter recently released a yearbook mock up for the what the Goths, Landgraabs & Pancakes looked like during High School as a tie in to the the upcoming High School Years Expansion Pack and it got me thinking about what your makeovers for them would potentially be like if you did them. 

Obviously there's no pressure or me saying you absolutely should or have to do them just thought I'd mention it.

Aside from the Goth, Landgraab & Caliente families, all of whom you've done makeovers of already at this point, the Pancakes are probably the next most recognizable family/couple in The Sims 4. Regardless, just wanted to say I love your sims & hoe you continue doing them and/or whatever else you find interesting or fulfilling.

Outside of the Pancakes, Vlad from Vampires, Judith Ward from Get Famous, and maybe now Greg from Werewolves it doesn't feel like there have been many notable sims that were created specifically for The Sims 4. Which is surprising when you consider just how many new sims they've created for all the packs over all these years.

When I say notable I should clarify notable in that they're the only TS4 sims that anyone ever seems to mention or make fun of in the TS4 community. They also seem to be the only created for the TS4 sims that people do makeover videos of on YouTube.

 

It's too bad they don't let players officially design sims for the game the way they have with lots for last couple of packs. Although I feel like if that were to happen people might start looking at TS4 like the devs are outsourcing everything to players.

I have actually put together my own version of Judith Ward recently, for future use in the save bassed on my sims. I don't care much for vampires, but I actually find that I like Vlad's normal appearance, and I don't really think he's in much need of a makeover, especially not one that makes him "hot". 

 

Here's a look at that Judith Ward. I'm doing something with how she fits into the world, and she might be included amongst a group of other sims in an upload here in not too long.

Trait mods, you just wait for those to be updated, I think most or all the ones I use have active creators so that shouldn't be a problem.

 

There's really been no reports of CC being broken as far as I've seen, so there's no reason to think body hair details are going to be broken (at the end of the day they're just tattoos, usually), they just won't be in the new body hair CAS slots (or however that works, I haven't updated yet) and won't be apart of whatever gameplay mechanics there might be related to that. So they won't be broken, they'll just not be different from before. 

 

I'll gradually switch new and updated sims over to new body hair details, as I make them, but I won't go and update all of them, that's something I'll leave to people who download the sims, as it'll likely be easy, and if you don't want the old ones, you can just delete the packages.

She looks great. Looking forward to seeing who she's grouped with. 

 

In terms of Vlad I think the reason why people do so many makeovers of him is because his human form appearance is quite exaggerated or cartoonish when compared to other townies in the game. By comparison to other sim townies he looks like a Hanna Barbara cartoon villain, ie Dick Dastardly, with his long pointed chin, long pointed nose, arched eyebrows, etc.

 

I believe the reason his human form looks that way is because they designed his vampire form first, which is clearly Nosferatu inspired, and tried to come up with a human form based on the Nosferatu look.

 

Most makeovers try to make him look hot which I understand why people do that but in-game Vlad comes across as kind of goofy given how he's always knocking on people's doors and showing up everywhere very casually so making him hot sexy looks odd when you see his in-game behavior.    

 

That being said I have seen a couple of Vlad makeovers that keep a lot of the same elements in terms of his facial structure instead of remaking him top to bottom to be hot to the point where he's no longer recognizable as the same character.

Alright, so in line with something I'm working on there's an update to one of my older creations that was kind of necessary. So I've updated and reuploaded the Korrapati family. 

 

The updates are mostly minor, Sanjiv and Sati no longer use an obsolete student career, from before Discover University, the sims' skills and traits and such are more in line with my newer creations. Skintones are somewhat different (most have slightly darker more warm brown) and there's some further use of newer skin details. Sati, Sarala and Sanjiv have had their appearances overhauled, you can see some details in the link above. Unfortunately I don't have a major biography writeup like I did for Alexis, Tracy and Thalia. 

 

Anyway, there's more coming related to this, specfically the fact that I removed a member of the family (stand by on that).

I'm having some issues with the skin details and replacements, some of them just won't save when I save a household, it goes back to the default skin as soon as I save.

In the midst of all this post-patch chaos*, I may not have any new sims, but I did manage to put together a new video. It's a pretty different one from what I've made before in that I got the idea to try to make the whole thing using only the first person camera. This is a restriction in many ways, but also meant that I spent much less time recording things than I usually do, as I only really had to think about the one angle. I also tried to avoid music with english lyrics, using mostly simlish songs and treating the music more as something present in the scene than a soundtrack I was editing the video to.

 

In any case I actually think this video came out really well, hope you enjoy! 

 

 

Bonus: Short clip of what I'd say my favorite (more or less) SFW part of the video was, I'm really happy with how this ended up looking.

Quick question, when I use First Person camera the character's tongue keeps in the way, any idea how to fix that?

Also, thank you so freaking much for characters like Grace, Eve and Odette, I didn't knew I needed them on my gameplay until I saw them here!

As the sim in question, click the tongue (not in first person) and just choose "hide tongue".

As mentioned it's Jocelyn Zavala, she looks somewhat different, face is the same but in terms of makeup and a bit in terms of skindetails, skintone and a bit of body shape edits she is different. Warderobe is also somewhat different as is makeup across the board. Most obviously, I also used a different hairstyle. I don't plan to make this one her regular, I still like the one she's always had (I even made a custom swatch for it with darker and more prominent roots), but I am planning to load her up with alternate hairstyles in her formal outifts/costumes to choose from to change things up, I kind of imagine her as the type of person who dyes her hair different colors somewhat often.

Did you use some dance animation mods ? That looks sick as hell and burns down the whole room.

Dancing animations are Syncd Motion, Steven Studios and from the base game. The first two are just custom animations as pose packs, not actual "dance mods", SyncD Motion is also defunct and closed down their site and Patreon about 2 years ago, might have to go digging to find those.

 

Technically it would be possible to replace the game's dancing animations with any custom animations, like custom dancing ones, but due to how these dances work (they're pretty long, have the sims moving all over the place) I doubt it would actually look good at all. That said I know that Steven Studios does have a mod to replace the base game dancing animations with some of his, but I haven't really bothered to try that myself.

So with there being persistent bugs and issues around saving sims, annoying stuff going on with skin details and weird stuff with random celebrity levels in live mode I've noticed and other stuff, I'm thinking it's likely that I'm going to hold off on uploading any new sims or anything until I'm feeling a bit more confident about the state of things and just what kind of stuff I will have to deal with in the long term. 

 

Just to give some information on this, and to explain the inactivity with things related to sim uploads and updates. Hope you all understand, things should be back to normal eventually, hopefully, but for now I'm still feeling like holding back a little more.

The past 2 months have been nothing but "damage limitation". EA keeps screwing with our setups and it's getting really annoying having to fix shit over and over again. I take it you've updated? Check your sims' bodies! Compare some of them with versions you've saved in the gallery! I've noticed that some (not all) in my world look slightly different despite the sliders being updated, had a ton of fun fixing that ?. Also the newest WW version broke attractiveness, all sims are unattractive to each other.
