That's something I haven't heard of. I use WW and Basemental, are you saying they create files elsewhere (other than the Mods folder) that I should track (that could cause issues)?
DroZzhat Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 On a whim, I decided to just let the game sit. Put on an episode of something and just let it sit in the initial loading screen. Turns out it wasn't locked up (despite the loading animation being completely frozen), this new update just loads MUCH slower than it's predecessor. The load time is more than 10x as long for the exact same setup. Your suggestion about reintroducing the mods bit by bit till I found the issue had me scratching my head, because it revealed that all of the individual pieces of my mod/cc setup worked fine by themselves or any combination of categories, so long as it wasn't all of it at once. Stupid updates... 1

They include Joey Rivas, who's a camera guy and editor. A slightly edited (mostly in terms of traits and the new career) version of an older sim of mine, Tyler Stevenson who I started using in more of a director, independent porn producer/performer sort of role. And Paige Ferreira, a stylist, whose appearance I've bounced around a bit with, especially her hairstyle, though a while back I finally settled on something I liked for her. Anyway I thought it was time to upload these sims, and in general get back to updating this collection as I haven't been very good about that recently. Sorry about that. I have several and I generally can't give precise schedules for this, because I don't really have them. I'm just one scattebrained person working on stuff and uploading it when I think it's ready. Storywise I'm using Tyler as sort of an independent producer/director/performer, but mechanics-wise he's just in the production branch of the AEP career.

I had actually updated much about her appearance earlier and figured just now that I should get her uploaded. In terms of characterization she's a bit on the slight side, I've typically done pictures of her together with Hannah Albright, and since I got my hands on the SyncD Motion dance animations, I've given her the same dancer characterization that Hannah has. Only problem is that the old career I used for that is outdated and doesn't work properly any more, so at the moment she's left unemployed. I made several gifs using those animations with her and Hannah. In terms of traits and skills she basically has skills to fit someone who's confident, outgoing and athletic, though as noted my own characterization here is somewhat on the lighter side, still I think she's a distinctive looking sim and has some cool outfits in her warderobe as well. Age: 21 Height: 5'3" Occupation: Supposed to be dancer similar to Hannah Albright, but that career is outdated and I don't have a replacement at the moment TLDR: unemployed Notes: Social Smoker, Exhibitionist, Gym Rat, Night Owl Lifestyles: Energetic Outfits AngelinaOutfits.7z 7

Now was the time to actually finish and upload them. They are Sulani natives and to indicate that I have given them all the "Child of the Islands" trait as well as made them bilingual in both Simlish and the Toki Sulani language for the language barriers mod I use (that is they have both languages as native languages). The parents are Alan and Danica. Alan is laidback and perhaps not the most responsible chap around, and works a part-time lifeguard job, whiel Danica works as a mixologist at a local bar. They both have the big happy family aspiration and even have some skills in the Selvadoradian and Komorebigo languages as they'd be interacting with toursists in their careers. Sydney is the most detailed in terms of outfits because she's a sim I've had around for a long time, but in terms of how exactly she fits into my world I'm a bit more unsure, she's 19 years old and a college student so would probably fit in with some of the other college student sims I've made. Her brother Trevor, while less detailed actually has more of a place in the world as I've actually used him in game for a while as one of Jason McFadden's friends, he's also a college student. Then there's the younger kids, Taryn, Aiden and Samson. They're just kids, ncie to have around, but I haven't bothered with much in the way of characterization here at the moment. In fact, IIRC, one of my first comments in your thread was about me being a fan of Alba's nose... which is a funny thing to be a fan of, but it just goes to show how little attention design of sim's actual faces usually get. So if there is one trait in your design that "stands out", pardon the pun, it's the attention to detail when it comes to noses. ? 1

My mod folder organization is a lot simpler than yours, I have script and content mods organized by creator, but CAS and buildbuy just in one huge folder each, so I don't end up with duplicates of the same file when I download sims or lots. But I have noticed that a lot of your sims include a file called desktop.ini, and I don't know what it does, but I have been overwriting it every time. I haven't noticed anything actually breaking from this practice, but I'm just curious what it does.

It should probably be fine, that file is about folder structure and appearance I think (it's usually hidden). Probably a result of me putting the files into folders first and then compiling. Anyway I don't think it should be a problem.

With the new update I've overhauled the appearance of the parents quite extensively and I've updated them in terms of skills and traits to be in line with other newer sims I've uploaded here. Also a flavor note is that I made several of the sims a little younger than they used to be. I've also ended up expanding this family more, because I've been putting together a family for one of my other sims, Samantha and I think the dad I made there sort of looks like Jason's mom Karen (though I might make some further edits to further reinforce this if I think it's necessary) so I think I'm going to make them siblings to add another branch onto this family. That's coming some unspecified time later when I finish that, but here's a picture to illustrate that.. Also I need this space for some pictures for the post. Kashked Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 More of a general PSA than directly related to this thread regarding Likes/Dislikes... All sims marked as "Played", even when they are acting as NPC's, will generate pop-ups asking you if you want to add likes or dislikes when they do stuff in the background. So if you are like me, and have 350 played sims, it can get kind of spammy, although I imagine once of the most basic likes are spread out among the population it will calm down a bit. This has been a public service announcment for rotational players. 2
