marktwain123 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 My game crashes when i enter certain spots on the map like near Falkreath Winterhold and various places on the map. Also sometimes when combat is engaged or when attempting to look into somethings inventory. I sometimes get infinite loading screens when entering buildings or cities like Whiterun I've sorted my load order with LOOT and cleaned what it told me to with TES5Edit but the crashes keep coming. Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated GameMode=Skyrim Skyrim.esm=1 Update.esm=1 Dawnguard.esm=1 HearthFires.esm=1 Dragonborn.esm=1 SexLab.esm=1 SexLabAroused.esm=1 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp=1 Lanterns Of Skyrim - Grimmdal Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/ ^this fixes infinite loading screens. For the random CTD, this happened to me too when my game was bloated with mods , especially script heavy mods. Skyrim just cant handle that much , i fear. i got random ctds near dragon bridge and solitude for no reason and in combat sometimes too when too much triggers/ scripts popped in. There is no real fix for it i fear, either u deal with it or get rid of some script mods.
TheArchlich Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 What a mess in the load order... wow! I'm kinda impressed by how bad it is XD First of all you want to uninstall TES5edit Second install Safety load Third configure your memory chunk size (in SKSE.ini) Four increase exterior cell buffer (in skyrim.ini) Five sort your load order
marktwain123 Posted May 17, 2019 Author Posted May 17, 2019 I do have safety loaf installed and it helps sometimes but stops working after a while. As for configuring memory chunk size and cell buffer, what setting should i set it too? If there is a more ideal setting. The load order has been sorted with loot but i guess thats not enough huh.

I agree it could be better but you need to explain to the OP if you are going to come up with statements like that. Why does he need to uninstall TESVEdit?
Grey Cloud Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Rather than use Safety Load you would better off using Crash Fixes and SKSE Plug-in Preloader Safety Load (not needed if UseOSAllocators=1 in CrashFixPlugin.ini): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/ https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75795/? You should also install ENBoost (if you are not already using an ENB) https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost The above three should eliminate most of the CTD problems. Don't make changes to any ini files based on the say-so of anybody in a post. Read on of the guides such as S.T.E.P. or follow one of th videos by Gamer Poets fro example. There are several things which could be done to improve your load order but they can wait until your game is stable.

Grey Cloud Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 9 minutes ago, marktwain123 said: but im still getting CTD's when i open an inventory menu. That would suggest that there is something, such as a bad mesh, in the inventory which is not right. You could try loading earlier saves to see if you can get back to before whatever it is was put in your inventory. I'm assuming you don't have any mod which alters your inventory.

First, let me go on record as supporting everything that Grey Cloud has told you. All his advice will work toward making your game more stable. Second, what he told you about meshes is also accurate. Finally, your "location" CTDs are almost certainly caused by having an out of date version of MoreNastyCritters loaded. I know yours is out of date because it loads SexLabNudeCreatures which is known to cause that type of CTD. So, your next step, after doing everything Grey Cloud has already sagely suggested, is to get rid of your old version of MNC and load the newest (SLAL) version. Be careful to assiduously follow MadMansGun directions. It is not hard but it can be particular. Happy hunting!

Thousands of people use TESVEdit (across more than one game) and you are the only person I have ever come across who claims it causes crashes. And it is 'whether' not 'weather'.

Apparently you better at spelling than modding. The new versions of TES5edit load dynamic library files into the game folder what causes stability issues. If you don't crash with it your game is probably 'not modded enough'. (still it doesn't mean it doesn't reduce your stability)

Why does having dll files in your game folder affect the stability of the game? Do you mean the folder which contains TESV.exe? I've got about 6 or so dll file in the root of that folder and problably (almost definitely) more in the sub-folders. None of them are from TESVEdit and I'm on version v. 4.0.1 as far as I can see. My TESVEdit is installed in the root of my F: drive. My game is rock-solid stable because, like most people who know what they are doing, I use Crash Fixes, ENBoost (though I use an ENB preset nowadays) and let LOOT deal with my load order and don't worry about it looking 'logical'. It's not a spelling issue, they are two completely different words with two completely different meanings.

Yeah I did what he said to do and now im running pretty stable, It even allowed me to run some graphic mods that previously crashed my game like 4K trees and textures. I was able to travel just about everywhere and go into buildings with out crashing or infinite loading screens. Im now 2 hours in since i fiddled with it and it only crashed once, probably due o my load order.

Can you prove that in some way ??? To my knowledge, Tes5Edit.exe is a program external to the game and can read and modify the game files. Obviously, if a bad modification is made with Tes5Edit it can ruin the game. Say that the game is damaged or that the stability of the game is reduced simply by having Tes5Edit installed does not make any sense.

Probably not. Still if you install it with any kind of mod manager it will land there. Now if you just unpack a loose copy of TES5edit to a random place on your PC (which is not an 'installation process' BTW) nothing will happen probably. And I said uninstall TES5edit, not remove all it's files from your PC. And yes having TES5edit files together with your Skyrim executables will have a negative impact on your game stability.
