Only minor issues I could find so far were some blackfaces on chars added by mods and found 2 male NPC with invisible bodies. And 281 Mods running. So thanks for all of the help so far. Much appreciated! Who are they. Where are they. And what mod added /edited them? Blackace is where MOD A and MOD B edit the same NPC. But the left and right panes have issues. So the game uses facegendata from MOD A and uses texture data from MOD B. 3 ways to fix it. 1. say fuck it and it's fixed. 2. Find the two mods that are messing with each other and manually adjust left or right panes until they do not have blackface. 3. locate the name for the npc. look up that npc base number. Go into the mod you DO NOT WANT TO EDIT THAT NPC using xedit and delete the entry for that npc. Those are the main 3 ways i know of to get rid of blackface from conflicting mods. @Aylis do you have the dds library for nifscope? i am attempting to change the tattoos on dibellian defender to something more.. logical. and GIMP, Blender, niether one will open those particular dds files. so i am trying with nifscope and can't find the right library for opening dds files 1

If I had to download SSE now, would the latest version available be compatible with the modlist? I know some suggest a very old version like 1.5.73 / 1.5.80, unfortunately though those versions are no longer available (I tried several Steam download servers at no avail...) Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me! simply put. YES Spoiler
smith.agent Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 @jaeos Cool, thanks a lot for the quick reply! 1
Aylis Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 @smith.agent If there is a problem i'll put a big red warning in post #1. If there's nothing there you shouldn't encounter problems. @jaeos For Nifscope? No, as i don't use that software. But you might try paint.net that's what i use here. The links for it and the required addon are in post #7. 1
Aylis Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 @H0rnyH0rse Disable the 'Bathing in Skyrim SE - Alternate Start.esp' for DynDOLOD (and reactivate it later). Strange that this comes up again... I moved the mod up to fix that behaviour.
H0rnyH0rse Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Somehow my comment vanished and only the img upload remained!? So here is the missing text:@Aylis thanks again. Running the launcher did it for me. Uuuuurggh!! It was so simple. You don't want to know how much time I had spent trying to find the problem... Of course TexGen now crashes due to another reason. Why would anything ever be simple I think it is bathing and alternate start. I think I remember an option for a rag to be added in one of the FOMODs. I will check it out and post the solution. (might be interesting for the guide, since both mods are included)@jaeos thanks for the input! I will work on that after I solved my DynDOLOD issues. Edit: I post too slowly
H0rnyH0rse Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 That did it. My attempt would hav been to uninstall -> run -> reinstall. This was a way better solution
H0rnyH0rse Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Update: WOOP WOOP! Everything works like a charm now (I think I got 95% of the build + some extra LL mods). First time that RTX is being put to some real work. Running at around 40 to 60 fps and looking GORGEOUS! I have never seen Skyrim like that before. Lovin it! (the lanterns are a real FPS killer) Will start playing/looking for some bugs tomorrow. I am dead tired now. DynDOLOD took ages. And ofc I installed the wrong dll version at first.@Aylis If you are interested I could send you a List of the steps I struggeled with most (maybe we can make it more easy for other noobs to come). 2

Sounds good. I've been doing this for so long now that i overlook problems others might have.
Skag Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Hi Aylis, first off thank you for sharing this mod list with us. The way you've laid it out and explained things really helped me learn the various modding tools. Something I've noticed during my reinstall of the mods is that the JK Skyrim and Dawn of Skyrim patches are looking for a master called Blues Skyrim.esp. On further investigation it turns out this is what the Dawn of Skyrim esp was originally called but the latest update for it has renamed the esp to dawn of skyrim.esp. At the moment the previous version which is compatible with all the patches is still available in the optional files. 2
Aylis Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 @Skag Thanks for that information. I'll add something to the description. Done @jaeos I forgot to tell you one thing: if a DDS is reluctant to be opened rename it to DDS2. That makes sure that the newest compression works with paint.net. Just rename it again after you are finished. 1
ralchemilla Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 sorry to bother.. is ''Skyrim Particle Patch for ENB [Batch 01] (Source in case there's an update) '' still avaliable or perhaps there is a seperate download link, i couldn't download it from both provided links, i did try multiple times but to no avail. i'm missing this to complete [Batch 01] 's list of foundation mods ;__;
wollboi Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 @Aylis @H0rnyH0rse If you install the additional ESL Bathing patch you can run DynDOLOD without having to disable the ESP patch. It's weird, but it works. @ralchemilla I just tried to download it and it worked. What kind of error are you getting? 1
Aylis Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 Ah, that was it. The patch should be used anyway (and i already have it in the list). ________________________________________________ Finally got it. I was running into an issue but could solve it. This batch took way longer than expected... The batch removes more than 1000 redundant files (i lost count) and should free something around 12 GB on your drive. Again: In case you still find a typo (there shouldn't be one left) please tell me about it so i can fix it. Uploading file: Batch 03 V1.2.bat This will also be the last one for a while. With all the reruns and checks it almost took me six days to finish it and i really need a break from that.

And sorry, my bad: I actually read the disclaimer in red that was in the box on the original post but somehow failed to see the "Can be ignored..." text sitting neatly right on top of it... In any case, thanks A LOT for this guide, it really makes coming back to Skyrim after a while a lot less painful than having to re-explore, mix, match and fix all the mods AGAIN... Cheers! 1
ZeDuke Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Hey so with the Skyrim particle patch for ENB, I moved the textures/meshes files while installing into the correct files in data, but i am left over with a .esp that i havent the slightest idea where to move or if i just also leave it loose in the data folder
Aylis Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 @ZeDuke I'm not sure what you mean... You don't have to move anything. Just install them like any other mod and MO2 will do the rest.

I might be an idiot, but i downloaded it, got the zip file, and unpacked it, however all i got out of it was a data file and an esp file, the data file had a meshes and textures subfile so it wasn't hard to find said files in the games folders and just add/replace what was there but i ended up with an esp left over, if there was an installer in that mess i didn't find it alternatively upon reflection this may be me not understanding how to handle MO2 but it seemed out of place there wasnt an installer in it, hence why I asked
Aylis Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 @ZeDuke o.O Sounds like you did a manual install. I strongly advise against something like this as the chance to make a mistake is extremely high (and nobody likes a reinstallation). You might want to watch this:
wollboi Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 @ZeDuke I think the problem you're having is you're thinking you need to unpack zip files prior to adding the mod to MO2. MO2 uses zip files just fine, no need to unpack them. Just click on "tools icon", install mod, and choose the zip file. And you're done, no unpacking necessary. Like Aylis says, unzipping it is what you would do if you were installing mods manually, and you should only do that if you hate yourself or are some sort of masochist. Spoiler 1

Aylis Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 Then you have to take a second look as the second file is the one with the installer... Also you can simply run MO2 from the extracted files. If you meant MO2.

Reveal hidden contents @ZeDuke every file you download will be a .7zip or .rar file. no unpacking necessary. Either use the button wollboi shows or drag and drop into the downloads page on the right and double click the file.
