Grey Cloud Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Hopefully this will be a quickie. This has just started happening after I removed a mod. I don't particularly want the that mod back so is there a way of removing the effect manually? I don't know what the effect is called so I can't search for a solution. Just to make it clear (geddit?), I mean the smokey, shadowy thing at the back. Thankingtons of an anticipatory nature.
RW311 Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Player effect or is this global? Fixing player should work with any of the following... https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/872861-tutorial-removing-unwanted-magic-effects-from-the-player/ For a global effect I'm not sure, I think it should fix instantly but if it was added from script it should stop over time or you may need to clean the save of that script.
Corsayr Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 what was the mod you removed that caused to effect in the first place?
KoolHndLuke Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 It's baked into your save unfortunately. That's why you're never supposed to remove mods in the middle of a play- through. The only way I know to "fix" that is just to return to a save from before you installed the mod(s). That or try and hunt down the offending textures and remove them maybe.
Grey Cloud Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 It's global and is related to distance. The mod I removed was 'Remove Interior Fog' (or similar) and was not doing what I wanted but was obviously hiding this effect. It's a new game so nothing to do with the save.

Everybody is wrong some times.

I will have a proper look at things tomorrow and report back.

Grey Cloud Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 @Corsayr I removed the 'ambient' folder but it just made matters even more worser. (Shimmermist) You can't see it but there it looks like a heavy drizzle in the light blue part. More or less the same place as the original image
Corsayr Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 After removing the ambient folder did you reinstall Interior and Dungeon fog removal ? You said you were now using that, correct?
Corsayr Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Oh, I forgot to ask, what mod installer are you using? NMM, MO, Vortex, TES5Edit, Manual?
Grey Cloud Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 1 hour ago, Corsayr said: After removing the ambient folder did you reinstall Interior and Dungeon fog removal ? You said you were now using that, correct? Yes, that is the one I'm currently using and that was the ambient folder I removed. The mod consists of only the ambient folder. I'm using NMM but I installed that manually since it is just one folder.

If no, then try reinstalling.
GenioMaestro Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Can be you confused and mixing mod's and manually removing other mod??? Interior and Dungeon Fog Remover only have a folder with nif in ambient. Remove Ambient Interior Fog only have ESP probably with image space modifier. Remove Interior Fog V2 only have ESP probably with image space modifier. What mod have you?

Interior and Dungeon Fog Remover is the one I currently have installed. I will give Remove Ambient Interior Fog a try tomorrow. Some places are worse than others. Glenmoril
Grey Cloud Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 Right. With Remove Ambient Interior Fog. Not good. Getting desperate, so tried with all three of the mods on. Not bad here but too dark and did weird things with the blue light in the falmer caves.

The blue light seems to be coming from the dick mushrooms.
Corsayr Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Maybe it is time to see a load order... Perhaps something else is trying to influence fog as well? The only other thing I can think of is to uninstall all three and try verifying the integrity of the local files to make sure something wasn't removed or corrupted. Spoiler

This is a setting related to diistance. This can be seen in the images where the detail/focus is different at different distances. If it was a removed file nothing would change as the distance altered.
Corsayr Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 5 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: If it was a removed file nothing would change as the distance altered. Except for that ambient folder. The reason putting files in such a folder works is because the game looks for it, now normally the vanilla ambient folder and its contents are safely stored in a BSA file, but maybe you unpacked it at some point? So yea it is a low probability idea, but we are at the end of the easy answer phase of this issue. ? Do you have your load order and ENB? It is impossible to get much further in analyzing the issue without more data.
Grey Cloud Posted March 3, 2019 Author Posted March 3, 2019 Went back to using this Remove Interior Fog V2 plus Interior and Dungeon Fog Remover Case closed. It's not worth the time and effort to fix.
