Start with the bashed patch and any merge you may have. If it persists, remove half of yours mod's and try again. Continue eliminating mod's until the CTD is resolved. Then, begin to enable mod's slowly, no more than 5 or 10 in a group.

This is the file redirection feature built into the new FNIS. If you enable it, you can choose where FNIS outputs the files. I do this because for some reason MO and FNIS don't cooperate and FNIS will not overwrite or write "new" idles within a MO directory. Is it because the mods are activating over time? Would a Papyrus log help me narrow down which mod might be causing the problem? Always welcoming suggestions. In the mean time I will try your suggestion.

Is a buffered file and the last lines of the log are never writen if the game make CTD. Some times can have clues but not more. Your first message is not too clear for me. You say "crash before I exit the Alternate Start cell" and "I get the crash even if I leave the starter cell and load into the Skyrim world" but you not specify HOW you exit the cell. With Alternate Start you can select a lot of ways for start the game talking to the Mara statue, you can select "i want exit this cell" or select vanilla start or select a house or any inn or any faction... Each way is diferent and maybe some of the ways not give you CTD. What ways have you try? If you ALWAYS have the CTD when exit to open world can be a problem in a mod that alter terrain, vegetation, creatures, npc's or armors or weapons... can be the ilumination mod or the climate mod... all of them must be used for see exterior cell. If you start in a inn you not have climates mod and not have creatures but have ilumination and have npc's armors and weapons. If you start in a house not have any other npc and only can be ilumination or the armor/weapons in your player. You can try diferent houses for have diferent armors and weapons and diferent interior mesh. Of course, the problem can be in a interior mesh but is strange because normally the interior cell is too diferent to the exterior cells. For all of this i ask: HOW you exit the cell?? What ways have you try?? All of this info can be usseful for locate the problematic mod. But is much more fast the brute way, imo. Remove half of yours mod's and look. If the CTD persist remove more mod's. When disappear start enable mod's until locate the problem. The CTD may NOT be related to an exclusively mod and may be related to the loading order or compatibility patches and we need the requested information to try to help you find a complex CTD.

I can activate the mara statue and choose any fate (the one I was choosing was "camping in woods") and quickly sleep and get to the world, but in time the game will crash. It is occurring before all of the mods become active.. basically as the status updates are occurring in the top corner. If I do nothing the game will crash after the first autosave. Leaving the cell/location doesn't seem to have any effect. UPDATE: I'm periodically checking this thread as I deactivate my mods and re-activate them little-by-little.

Only activate the Mara statue AFTER all the mods are activated including any (like animations) that need to be registered. If you CTD you may have a better idea of what is causing it. If you CTD after leaving then you will know that it is not the mods "starting" that does it but something extraneous.

However, most of us who use ASLAL use it as much for the feature we are instructing you to use as for a change from the Helgen scene. You see, while you are in the prison cell there are not all the external stresses on the game that you get when you are out in Skyrim (whether in the Helgen scene) or just out playing the game. So, often a load order that won't work with Helgen (or with having started Skyrim with ASLAL) WILL work if given time to process in a peaceful jail cell. This is why it is, as GenioMaestro says, a BIG clue. If you crash in the cell your problem is likely a bad mod (as he said likely one not compatible with SSE). If the problem only occurs when you get back out into Skyrim or doesn't occur at all your problem is of an entirely different nature (it may still be a bad mod but it's one that's incompatible with the Skyrim setting).

Do you have the same problem if you start without LAL? Have you already run Nif scan? (choose the -fix dds option. At first I was running the Gender Specific anims, but FNIS was giving me the "no folder for male/female" leading me to believe that it wasn't necessary. I haven't tried without LAL, but I did try without Defeat and Devious Captures (dependent on Defeat) and still had the crash. I've nearly had enough for the day.. I am about 78 esps into my "brute method" and it's all starting to look like a blur. I have a lot of the core Loverslab mods active and I will continue to work on this more tomorrow. LordZulten Posted December 19, 2018 Author Posted December 19, 2018 Believe it or not I have been working on my crash all day and have finally discovered (at least with 80% certainty) that my crash is from RRRRRIRIIIIIIIIIGIMOOOORRRRRRRRR... RIIIIIIIGMOOOR... Anyway according to the Brexus page: Quote Q: I get a CTD with Immersive Armors installed.A: Uncheck Rigmor.esp, reconfig IA, recheck Rigmor. And I was able to get it functioning in my load order by ticking the mod at the end of the Alternate Start sequence, after the rest of the mods have loaded (and IA configured.) If I run a new game with Rigmor.esp enabled I will have a crash every time. To further test my theory I enabled a lot more mods and still was able to get my game working so long as Rigmor.esp was unchecked. Hope this helps someone and I thank all of you for your help and patience. I will try to edit my post to [SOLVED] but if I can't a mod should!
