Less beth Patching Now?

The patches already have been less frequent recently as they are busy with getting Fallout 76 squared away. Future game releases will only distract further from regulating this particular recurrent monetization scheme.

They'll probably pick way up when they realize FO76 is only going to make $1.88 and they have to make up their yearly projections in creation club purchases ?

More like the next patch is overdue?

Looking at random F4SE version-dependent mods, so far it's been a CC update approximately every 1st week of each month up until October 2018.

There were occasional irregularities though.

I think you'll be right Mr Cleavage . Now Beth have their new toy I don't think they'll pay as much attention to Fallout 4 . I still expect the odd patch or two yet but I could well see them being far more sporadic and not the monthly annoyance they cuurently are . I hope that's the case and there's at least a reasonable chance it will be . I have zero interest in Fallout 76 . Ive been bitten by GTA V and a fair chunk of the online in game community for that is full of toxic griefers . So as far as I'm concerned they can stick online gaming where the sun doesn't shine ?

Did they actually include something beneficial in their latest patch?

I don't know, but my game runs much more stable with hardly any CTDs. I'm asking because I can't imagine my game curing itself or my rig suddenly being better able to run it.

I'm confused, but I certainly don't complain.

Maybe you've returned to the 1.9.4 patch ? ?

It was exactly as expected. Fallout 76 won't be the cash cow that they thought that it would be so they are gathering the Club back together again for another heist.

i wish they'd just quit with the creation club bull shit. stop downloading your crap onto my PC

if i want to buy it i can download it.

it should work like the in game mod down loader.

I highly doubt creation club even profitable :P , why buy shit when you can get better quality for free.

But logic and effort escapes from bethesda.

some of the gaming consuls. PS4 I think, don't accept user mods. so captive audience for Bethesba.

Todd Howard likes to claim that he knows that only roughly 10% of players use mods. Assuming that he knows the stats on mod hosting and use between all of the hundreds of mod sites and blogs out there is dubious enough but the constant pushing of the Creation Club further damages that assertion.

If hardly anyone uses user made post-consumer content then why sell content created by notable modders?

There is probably some "funny" math going on here.... like taking the total number unique users on Bethesda.net that have ever downloaded 1 mod for Fallout 4, vs the total number of copies sold, on all platforms, globally, life to date.  Math like that would probably get close to that magic 10% number.

So how long does it usually take the guys over at Silverlock.org to release a new F4SE after a Beth update?

Usually a day or so.  Then the modders need another day or so to update theirs.... "usually" - since we all do this for free, in our spare time, real life conditions make cause delays in updating everything.

I mean... not to toss gasoline on that fire... but suggesting that BGS will start prostituting employees is kinda over a line.  I see the humor you were going for though - in another time, that would have flown on the forum with the laughs it should garner.

Saw this on a Reddit and it worked for me to roll back to the previous version of Fallout.exe

It will download the previous version into your Steamapps\Content folder. Make a backup of the Fallout4.exe in your Fallout 4 folder first. Then copy and paste this Fallout4.exe in it's place. Simple and works. Just tested it myself. Script extender working too.

Well of course I was exaggerating. That was the whole point of my post LOL! But for someone to get all offended and take the time to report me for that is just sad. It actually made me laugh when I saw the warning. Just one more in a very large collection of them I've gotten over the years from butthurt snowflakes. People are just way too sensitive today. I frankly don't give two fucks about anything.

As evidenced by your flagrant disregard for the snowflake's feelings ;)  Perhaps this was too: Steam agreeing with you.  They basically said "Look, we have to warn you because someone complained, but we're not going to do anything about this."

That's the thing.  I don't even know who the snowflake is. I just made that post speaking to no one in particular, sort of thinking out loud. I really don't care what Steam speech nazis  have to say or do. I've been banned a bunch of times by them in the past. What's one more? (shrugs) Warning me that I offended someone is pretty lame when I wasn't speaking about anyone in particular and clearly I was just exaggerating the desperateness of Bethesda and the lengths they may need to go in order to keep their company afloat.

Steam could have just left me alone and let the offended snowflake go melt away in their fury all alone also. Hell, they could have just deleted my comment and I'd never even know since I wasn't even subscribed to that discussion in the first place. Anyways, I got a good laugh from it this morning when I saw it and so I shared it here for a laugh since I got a warning for saying what we're all pretty much thinking.

Just tested the latest Script Extender released just a bit ago and it's not working. They done goofed up! It's still looking for .114 instead of .120 even though the .dll in the latest F4SE says .120.

Went back to .114 version using what I posted above about what I read on Reddit on how to roll back. Guess them boys over at Silverlock need some more time to get a working F4SE for .120.

Edit - Okay, apparently the problem isn't with F4SE after all. It's due to certain mods being dependent on the old F4SE causing the problem? Damn. Never had this problem before. Used to be able to just copy and past the new SE into the game directory and fire up the game with no problem. Apparently I have a mod that depends on the old version of F4SE. I can either update that mod (if that mod has been updated), which I don't know which mod it is, or I can go back to the version of Fallout4.exe and SE I was using before which fires up the game just fine since that is what that dependent mod is looking for. Very strange issue.

Ok, so I just needed to download the latest version of the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) off the Nexus that corresponds to the latest F4SE and install it. Problem is solved and game and F4SE are now up-to-date with the latest version of Fallout 4.
