Guest Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 People that don't use MO are just retards. Does not have anything to do with "but for me it's cool" or "It does what I want". Ignoring the fact that there's a superior modding tool and then using a worse one is just retarded.

Knock off the insults. Folks can use whatever they want and being superior is subject number of factors like usage, modding experience, time folks want to spend using it and so on. Just because one tool works for you doesn't mean it is the best tool for everyone. I think MO sucks donkey dick for instance. I don't use ANY mod manager. Course I tear every mod that I use apart and modify the shit out of it. Half the time I don't even keep the esp files. So are you telling me I'm retarded? Cool off. No one likes a bully and you'll never convince anyone to use MO by insulting them.

It is easy to really mess it up. I had about 130 plugins and 150 mods when I decided to switch from NMM to Vortex. I made an archival backup of my entire SSE folder on a different drive, then followed the NMM to Vortex migration instructions and at the end (about an hour and a half) I had the same playable game I had enjoyed when I used NMM, so for me the transition/migration was pretty painless. I did have to install a couple of mods manually (SKSE64 and ENB Binaries) but other than that, the "Import from NMM" process worked well. What did you find to be the main issue that ppl were having importing their mod list from NMM?

Just from reading people's problems, the biggest issue comes from importing NMM mods - but not deleting them from NMM. Effectively, both managers think they are managing the same mods. It does not go well. NMM leaves a lot of pieces of it's implementation in the game folder. Numberfolders, etc. And Vortex Backups of NMM mods that were not removed. Glad it worked well for you, but I have seen enough complaints that I do not recommend Import. Start fresh - it avoids a lot of problems. On blood - let us just say you do not suffer fools lightly.

Orkekum Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I am using Vortex as the noob i am, and i like that it tells me about conflicts, after some early nibbles on what where how its pretty plug and play :-) With both LL and nexus mods. For load orders i use LOOT, it seems to work, except one mod i had to manually put a number for in vortex and loot seemed to respect that and put it after?
