So I used to use the mod version of archive invalidation (with no issue I might add) but decided to switch to the Vortex .BSA redirection workaround because it seemed easier to me. I cannot for the life of me seem to get it to work. I've tried going back to the modded version but now that won't work either. I run the .exe from the "/Fallout New Vegas/data" folder, click activate, load up my game and the body textures are still messed up. Going back to the Vortex BSA workaround, I decided to check the "mod staging folder" where "Vortex Archive Invalidation" is located and there is only one file there: "Vortex - BSA Redirection.override.vortex_lnk". I read somewhere in an archived post on the forums here I should, and I quote, "find the required INI tweaks and redirection BSA. Copy and paste these to their appropriate destinations...". I have a literal screenshot of the inside of that folder and there are no files there, but the one mentioned before. I think I also read somewhere reshade can cause some of these problems, but for some reason I doubt that- I could be wrong though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Getting started can be daunting
Seeker999 posted a blog entry in Modding Skyrim with Vortex, what I've learned
Where did you install your game? I don't use Program Files because I read a long time ago it can cause permission rights problems. I created a directory for all my games - C:\Gaming. It just makes it easier for me to have all my games in one place. Now, start from the beginning. No mods. No mod manager. Does your game run? If not, then you need technical support from where you purchased the game. If your game runs fine, great. On to the next step. Install your mod manager. I use Vortex and also installed it in a directory I created, C:\Gaming. If you decided to use MO2 as your mod manager, that's great. Whichever one you use, set up correctly and see if you can run your game from within the mod manager. If not, go to technical support for the appropriate MM and figure out what's up. Once you can run your game from within the mod manager you are ready to start adding mods. Don't add all the mods you want at one time. If something is wrong with one of them you won't know it and will just frustrate yourself and anybody trying to help you. Start w/ SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender). It's used in a lot of mods and if it ain't right .... There are several versions of SKSE. Be careful to pick the one for your game version and where you purchased the game (Steam or Gog). If you update your game later, you will have to update your SKSE. If you successfully run your game from your mod manager off the skse launcher (not the game launcher), then you are ready to start modding. You can find it on Nexus and the SKSE page. IMPORTANT - both the Steam build and the GOG build for a game update could have the same version number, that's why you need to pay attention when selecting your SKSE. If you are not sure of your game version, you can double-check by a) go to your Games tab in Vortex and click on the 3 dots icon to the right. A dialog box will appear that includes the installed version information. Or b) find your SkyrimSE.exe file in "...Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition" and bring up the properties. In the Details tab it will have the file version. SKSE does not go in the game's Data directory like most mods. In the Vortex mods page, find SKSE. Double-click to bring up details. Scroll down the details pane until you find Mod Type. Make sure it says 'engine injector'. Deploy (hit the 'Deploy Mods' button on your mods tab/page. Start your game with the skse64_loader.exe. FYI, it'll be easier if you create a shortcut to it in your mod manager. In Vortex, go to your Dashboard and the Tools section. Set it as primary so that whenever you click the big game icon at the top of Vortex, you'll start the game using skse64_loader.exe. Choose your mods carefully and read the mod description thoroughly. Look for any installation steps, requirements (hard and soft) information, and incompatibility issues. Some versions of some mods are not compatible with all versions of the game, especially if they are SKSE-dependent. If the mod page says their mod A is not compatible with another mod B then you have to MAKE A CHOICE. Unless a patch has been created to make them work together, make a choice. Don't make it harder for yourself. I can't stress this enough: Read the description and FAQ (if any) of any mod before downloading and installing. Before downloading any mod, make sure that it will work with your game/skse setup. Some things to know/be aware of: I am going to assume that at this point in time most people will have the official dlc's - Dawnguard, Hearthfires, and Dragonborn. There are Skyrim (aka Oldrim or LE) and Skyrim Special Edition (SSE). These were built differently (don't know the details, 32-bit v 64-bit among other things). AE or Anniversary Edition is still Skyrim Special Edition, it is updated and has added free Creation Club content (I'm not getting into the paid content). Don't disable these plugins just like you don't disable the dlc plugins. The AE version numbers of SSE begin with 1.6. Form 43. You may have heard of this. ESP's built in the Creation Kit for Oldrim are Form 43. That doesn't mean the .esp file can't be used in SSE/AE. I've been using some Oldrim mods since Special Edition began and I'm currently on SSE v. 1.6.1130. Vortex notifies me that the .esp is for a different game, which it technically is, but that warning doesn't automatically mean it can't be used. Mods with meshes, textures, and animations need those items converted from Oldrim to Special Edition but the .esp can be fine. Form 43 Note 1: Mods that affect weather and/or water will probably require updating the .esp. Form 43 Note 2: It is possible to break the mod if you update the .esp. My rule of thumb: ignore the warning and don't touch it unless necessary. If the mod requires SKSE, then the Oldrim version can't be used in SSE. A good resource for what's been converted or works with some to zero work is @tasairis' SE Compatibility Tracking. Generally speaking, if the mod is only an .esp and scripts, it's probably fine. NOTE: Since I'm on SSE, some mods I mention may reflect that. If there are links, they will be to SSE mods or a page that has both files. Download and install FNIS (I use the 7.6 XXL version) and BodySlide. Deploy. You might as well create shortcuts to these tools in the Vortex Dashboard. You will be using them a lot. I know some people use Nemesis or Pandora instead of FNIS but I'm not familiar with them and so far FNIS is doing what I need. Download and install Address Library. There's a version for Special Edition and one for Anniversary Edition (SSE 1.6+). Pick the right one. A lot of mods use this when game version/mod version is important. Deploy. I would install your body and skeleton mods next. Racemenu, your preferred body (I use CBBE), XPMSSE, and a physics mod. I currently use Faster SMP-HDT and CBPC - CBP Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR and have no problems. You'll probably use them in all your games as well as being required for Devious Devices. Deploy your mods. Open FNIS, make sure the 1st 3 boxes are checked (all 3 need to be checked for SSE, the HKX box can find some issues you may need to address). Run. Pay attention to any warnings. If there are any, you can select and copy all that information and paste it into a document for easy reference. Then do a consistence check. Hopefully there are no issues. Close FNIS. No issues? Deploy. Vortex will ask you to confirm that you want to use the newer files and delete the old ones. Yes you do. Open Bodyslide. Create your body and update the vanilla clothing and armor so that you have roughly the same shape from one outfit to the next. Exit Bodyslide and deploy. Yes, you want to use the newer files. For testing purposes, yeah, I would do as @CaptainJ03 suggested elsewhere and install either 'Alternate Start - Live Another Life' or 'Alternate Perspective'. The benefit is you aren't going through the lengthy vanilla start before you know things work (some mods may not show up in the MCM when using the vanilla start until after you escape Helgen). Both alternate start mods immediately put you in a starter cell and you can create your character and do whatever you need to do for your mods before getting into the game. You don't need to make any choices about your game start, once you know the mods are working you can exit the game. Deploy. Go to the Plugins page. Sort plugins. Vortex uses LOOT, so you don't need to download it. Start game (via skse64_loader.exe). If it looks good, exit. Download and install SkyUI, Sexlab Framework, and Sexlab Aroused . There are a few versions or alternatives to Sexlab Aroused around. I don't know if the one linked on the mod description page has been updated. However, in the support thread for SexLab Aroused eXtended there is a non-dll version. Last game (SSE 1.6.640) I used this version of SL Aroused. This time (SSE v 1.6.1130) I'm using this one. Choice depends on mod requirements, your preference, and compatibility with other mods you want to use. Deploy Run FNIS Deploy Sort plugins. Start game. Wait for mods to install and show up in MCM. You should see messages in the upper left corner of your screen that new MCM menus have been added. When you don't get any more messages, open the MCM. Look for Sexlab. You have to do an in-game install for Sexlab so you should see a click to install (not exact wording) option. Click, exit the MCM (I believe a message box will appear telling you to do so, or a message at the bottom of the screen when you hover over install - so many mods, so many instructions), and wait. Wait until a notification appears to the effect that Sexlab has been installed. Go back into the Sexlab MCM to see that it looks ok. You can now click to allow creatures if you want. If you do, select, exit the MCM and wait for another message to appear. I'm not getting further into Sexlab, there's a lot of stuff around and I'll post some links at the end of this post. If all is well, exit and continue. Now you can download and install Devious Devices SE 5.2. It has multiple .esp's, make sure they are all enabled in your plugins tab. In Vortex, when installing and enabling this or any mod with multiple .esp's, you'll get a notification to that effect and will be asked if you want to enable all plugins. For DD, say yes (unless using DD NG). For other mods, depends on the mod. You can always go to the plugins tab and enable/disable from there if you need to. ***to use DD with more recent versions of Skyrim (1.6.640 and later, I believe) you will also need DD NG and its requirements*** ***From the DD NG page: "Disable "Devious Devices SE patch.esp" from the plugins list"*** Run Bodyslide for all your devices. Deploy. Sort plugins. Run FNIS - I usually run FNIS whenever I install mods. That way I can make sure I catch any animation - even if it's just an idle - for my game. Deploy. Start game. If all is good, exit and continue. Download and install your other mods in small batches and verify the game runs after each batch. And remember to Deploy Mods if you are in Vortex, and then sort plugins and check for error messages before starting the game. Make sure you download the correct version of each mod. Fuz Ro D-oh and JContainers are important for many mods. Frequently I've seen people having issues that were due to not installing the correct versions of Fuz Ro D-Oh and JContainers. So check, and double-check. Having a problem? Triple-check. Once you're satisfied your mods are working, you're good to go. If you don't want to continue with either of the alternate start mods, exit, and disable them. In Vortex you can remove a mod without removing the archive - I recommend doing so just to keep your modding and game folders clean. Deploy Me, I'd run Bodyslide and FNIS again to make sure no animations, outfits, etc. are left out (or overridden). Deploy. Sort plugins. Start game - for real unless you suddenly remember you have other mods you want to try. 🙂 Some other links that might help (they can also be found on my post on getting help): Support Rules in Technical Support - general guidelines and includes various other links. Technical Support - Skyrim: Special Edition SexLab Troubleshooting & Support Guide - while it refers to Skyrim and you'll need to refer to the mod page for SE info, there's a lot of information which might help you. SexLab - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) FWIW, as of Jan. 2025 I updated to SSE 1.6.1170 -

Basically this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/2969519680691228823/#c2969519680691496243 Except I'm using Vortex and don't know how to find the .ini file. Also this happened the day after I updated my nvidia drivers so I have a feeling that's what caused it. -

Hey guys! I'm really sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm having trouble. My game will keep either CTD (sometimes on start, sometimes mid-game) or just be a black screen with voices/noise in the background. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that I can barely play anymore. I'm wondering if it has to do with my mod order being wrong? Hello, I am new to forum posting so please excuse any etiquette I miss out on. When running FNIS, I get the same error, accompanied by a t-pose glitch ingame, >>Warning: Generator not run from a legal (Steam) Skyrim installation directory. If you use SKSE, this can be fixed by starting Skyrim once through Steam.<< FNIS Behavior V7.6 2/21/2025 9:38:34 PM Generator: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe Skyrim 32bit: ??.??.?? - Skeleton(hkx) female: Default (99 bones) male: Default (99 bones) Reading FNISBase V7.6 ... I have done as the first error says, running the game through steam first and it still did not solve the problem. I have triple checked to make sure all of my mods are up to date and for SSE. I have also made sure I am on patch 1.6.640, My current modlist/load order is: CBBE Bodyslide XP32SSE FNIS FNIS Creature Pack SkyUI_5_2_SE PapyrusUtil AE SE JContainers SE RaceMenu SKSE 2.2.6 Nemesis Optional Quick Start - SE Mfg Fix NG SLAL_SE SexlabFrameworkAE_v166b.7z Any help is appreciated, thank you.

This has started happening recently after Vortex updated. I can no longer use "Install from file" to download mods. I get this error "Installer Prerequisites not fulfilled: File skyrim.esm is Active" Anybody know a fix for this?

Hi, Novice Sexlab user here. The Schakens Follower Manager is compatible with Sexlab, Sexlab Aroused, and Follow Me for Sex. The closest application I could find to "SexLab" per se' is SexLabFrameworkSE. Unfortunately, for me, the Sexlab functions don't work at all within SchakenFM and partially work on their on. In an effort to troubleshoot, I first went to Vortex and discovered a lot of conflicts. Here's the situation within Vortex: SexLabArousedSSELoose-29.7z Deploy order 91 SexLab Adventures SE v0.74.0.7z Currently Disabled Follow me for Sex SSE V3.5 Deploy order 92 SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA8(1).7Z Deploy Order #79 Vortex returned some conflicts. SexLabFrameweorkSE is to load before the More Information Console for SKSE with a conflicting file named interface\console.swf it also has conflicts with the apparco mfg command (vv0.2.1), specifically, interface\console.swf and interface\console.alias.ini Next it has 13 conflicts with PapyrusUtil SE and Vortex offers no suggested load order, Conflicts are SKSE\Plugins\PapyrusUtil.dll Scripts\ActorUtil.pex Scripts\JsonUtil.pex Scripts\MiscUtil.pex Scripts\Source\ActorUtil.psc Scripts\Source\JsonUtil.psc Scripts\Source\MiscUtil.psc Scripts\Source\ObjectUtil.psc Scripts\Source\PapyrusUtil.psc Scripts\Source\StorageUtil.psc Scripts\Source\StorageUtil.pex Vortex allows me to edit each of these but I have no idea what edit choices to make. Clicking Preview on each of these, usually has 2 check boxes, always checked is the Papyrus box, below that is the SexLabFramework box which is unchecked, then clicking on it and then clicking open admonishes me to look for it in the Microsoft store., or the check goes away. The right side column lets me change defaults away from Papyrus to Sexlab Frameworks instead. I tried setting all the Papyrus defaults over to SexLab, and it made no difference to anything that I could tell. Any advice on how to fix these conflicts will be most highly appreciated. Thanks much

I need help, because I had my skyrim moderated with adult mods and everything very optimized, I stopped playing a few days for other games, I went to play fallout new vegas with mods but when I made a new profile in vortex, my game happened to him something strange and it did not open to me and that for a long time I had the game prepared and with many mods. But after that day when the skyrim returned, my game was corrupted and I had not installed new mods, and now that I try to make a new profile from 0, some mods are not activated as defeat and mods that do not appear if they say they are. try everything in vortex, reinstall everything and nothing. I do not know what to do In the image I show that I have the defeat installed, and it does not appear in the mod configuration and another one appeared to me this character without textures

Hello there fellow lab-lovers (that's what they call us, right?... right?). Thank you for clicking on this post, and in doing so, sacrificing your valuable time for a Vortex noob like me. And boy do I appriciate it, because I'm in a rather dire situation here. I'll try to respect your time by keeping it short and to the point. Short version –-> right now I get a CTD every time I try to load a save-file The current problem can be sumerized as follows: - Slow start-up of the game when launching from Vortex (1,45 minutes to reach the main menu) - Crash when accessing inventory of any sort - Crash when loading ANY save-file - Send help, please... Load order in the spoiler below! Full time-lapse of the issue: Recently, during a rather 'lascivious' mood-swing, I decided to install a few animation packs. I quickly noticed that something was amiss when super mutants were running around with purple willies... ? I went looking for a skeleton/replacer that could to fix this, and one hour later I was knee-deep in a plethora of AAF mods topped off with patches and what-not! Miraculously enough, it actually worked out exactly the way I wanted... for a very brief amount of time ? When I was done testing the new mods (you know, for science) I reached for my pip-boy so I could track a quest. And then CRASH! Little did I know that this would turn out to be a huge problem. I experienced the same form of crash when clicking on the 'inventory' tab (so a crash as soon as I pressed “I”). So, okay, it is probably a UI-issue (which is odd, since I haven't really made any changes to the interface today). With wavering determination, I set out to reinstall DEF_UI and Valdacils item sorting, but it was to no avail ? Then suddenly, on my third attempt - the game decides to crash when loading a save-file, and that's where my story ends. Sorry for dragging this out. I'm hoping that someone out there can help me, this is the third Bethesda game that I've broken so far... and my self-esteem demands that I at least finish ONE of their darn games! xD TL;DR I have probably messed something up in my load-order, can anyone spot the problem?

Hi, I'm learning modding for Skyrim SE/AE and am just messing around to see what does what. I've gotten to papyrus scripting now. I've set notepad++ up, compiling works, .pex files get created. As a test case to see if it works, I've tried to edit SL matchmaker spell notification. Currently, it says "[name] has an irresistible aura about them". I changed the text in it to "[name] has an irresistible aura about them TEST TEST TEST" in "sslMatchMakerMagicEffect.psc", compiled it, replaced it in the scripts folder, to see if the change would take effect, but it doesn't. The message remains the same. I use Vortex to manage mods. In case that was the issue, I created a .zip file with the correct structure to replace the file and installed it as a mod. The file gets replaced. I compare the files hashes for the file in the "scripts" folder to the file I compiled, the hashes match. That seems to to indicated that the .pex file is replaced correctly, but the game seems to ignore it. I've also tried other changes in the magic effect file, nothing seems to affect it, it looks like it just uses the original script. Is there a cache somewhere? Do I need to do something more than just replace the .pex file to make changes take effect? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Im new to skyrim moding, and I just got a new pc to set up a playthrough. Before I got my new setup I wanted to test out some mods to be prepared so I used my laptop and it worked for temporary testing. I had most of my setup on my laptop and sexlab werewolves worked fine. On my new setup however whenever I test the animations some weird stuff happens. First the animations dont use the custom werewolf animations, my werewolf stands still and the npc usually uses one of the normal sexlab animations such as pillory or something. I have been trying for hours to resolve this but cant figure it out and am getting frustrated since I can have it open on the laptop and everything works but when open on the new pc it doesn't. I have done alot of research and I see most people ask the same questions so ill post the answers to those. 1. fnis and fnis creature pack under fnis download installed? yes both pc and laptop but only laptop works. 2. requirements? I have sexlab SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA8.7z and Creature Framework 1.1.0-pre2A-SE.7z along with SexLabArousedSSELoose-29.7z, Normal human animations work also. 3. Mcm menu? yes all the menus show up strangely. I also checked to allow creature animations and I believe all other necessary things, but heres where it gets strange and hopefully someone more knowledgeable what they need. Under the mcm menu for creatures everything looks the same but for 1 menu, on the pc it says skins and on the laptop it would say sexlab werewolves but on the pc the only option is disabled, the image below is what i mean but on laptop it says sexlab werewolves. In my final attempts to solve this I tried opening up the console to show the debug options and I noticed something strange. under my laptop and pc console the what I assume script seems to function normal with just 1 difference, one part for the working mod mentions armor 0f0058cb while on the pc where this code should be it just says none. I know most people ask for load order and logs but I have no clue how to check logs and nor how to put my load order really. Its mostly strange because On the pc its just this mod and requirments I have enabled and on the laptop manny other mods but seems to be no conflicts. Ill respond with any info needed and hopefully someone can help, more images below also so you can see the mcm and what i mean about the console menu. eddit: I also use vortex if that matters with game installed on d drive to not be under program files. This is the pc console with mod not working. This is laptop with mod working below Mcm menu with mod skin not working. on laptop it says the werewolf mod. SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA8.7z

Next gen version (1.10.984.0) Im currently having issues with AAF Violate. my character surrenders along with dialogue being shared, but it wont take me to the animation. it says "AAF Violate Abort" i dont know what the issues could be also when i activate RealHandCuffs in my Vortex Mod Manager my game crashes on start up. And lastly Animations from AAF Sex em up. will not activate either.ill still be able to play normally but i can try to retry the dialogue options but nothing happens. BTW im fairly new to modding so its possible its a few rookie mistakes especially my load order. Is it better to mod on new gen update or previous Gen? can anyone help?

I tried to make a start on a mod like this but I'm not really clever enough. Player is stuck in a spacesuit but you don't hear his/her breathing unless something fierce is happening. Here's what would be cool: Regular breathing running / jumping effort breathing, and awkward points grunts On the NSFW side, aroused breathing when close to a romanced companion (increases with topic) Volume control maybe using a weapon/terminal interface to call it up Any other goodies that can be added. Cough, sniff, fart and disgust.. etc Any takers? Thanks!
