Dragolfy Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 So I have no idea why it's saying this. I installed everything correctly by following a few different tutorials. At least I'm pretty sure I did it correctly. I'm using Vortex for mod management. The full error says, "Outdated or Skyrim install detected. SexLab currently requires Skyrim v1.9.32 or newer in order to function. To continue using this mod; you must update your install and reload your game." I'm pretty sure Steam updates automatically so it shouldn't be outdated. How do I check what version I have? Is it possible it's being caused by non-adult mods? My mod manager says everything is fine. I did the FNIS setup and stuff. And if it is true that my Skyrim game is outdated how do I update it?
tasairis Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Are you sure you have Vortex set up to use the SKSE launcher?
Cock Sucker Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 um "Skyrim v1.9.32" is the old version not skyrim se if your running a legit skyrim64 and not like it looks your trying to run old rim? run the skse64 launcher and load up an skyrim64 game save and on the system menu it should say 1.5.53.0.8 skse64 2.0.10. Rel. 5

Rel. 5 The message is wrong. It says 1.9.32 because it hasn't been edited to say the SSE version. The actual check happening that caused the message to show is fine.

I thought all I had to do was insntall mods using vortex, update mods, make sure there are not conflicts. The only mods not working is the Sexlab and the adult mods. And for some reason ALL animations don't work including walking, sitting etc. All my non-adult mods work no problem, but once I added SexLab and adult mods it just won't load correctly. I'm pretty sure the game is up to date since I have it to automatically update. Am I using the wrong Sex Lab? I just used what I thought was latest for Skyrim in these forums. Can someone send me a link to the latest version of SexLab Skyrim SE please? Edit: Oops, I might have downloaded an outdated Sexlab. Edit again: Ok definitely found the problem this time. Was using wrong SexLab Framework. Oops Sorry everyone
Dragolfy Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 Nevermind. Still "outdated". Can't get SexLab to work. I get the opening animation on the main menu of Horny creatures or Nasty critters (or both), but can't seem to get rid of the error. Does SexLab need to be updated? I downloaded and installed Beta 4 of SexLab. Using SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA4.7z Skyrim SE Version: 1.5.53.0.8
Lodakai Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Make sure everything you installed... IE Papyrusutil, Jcontainers, SKSE64 are all meant to be used with special edition and not LE. Worst case scenario... remove everything... install ONLY sexlab and its dependancies and make sure it works before you add anything else. Then go on to add the other things you have until you figure out what you downloaded that is of the wrong version and overwriting the necessary files. But I would start by making sure you have the most up to date papyrus util https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13048 1

Is SexLab outdated possibly?

tasairis Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 1 hour ago, Dragolfy said: The Papyrus Util is conflicting with SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA4 SexLab includes PapyrusUtil. Vortex may be claiming they "conflict" simply because they have many of the same files, but they do not actually conflict. (At least they won't conflict if you have matching versions of both.)
Dragolfy Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Can someone do screen sharing (Discord) with me so someone could tell me what I have wrong in my mod list? I've tried everything you guys said and it still won't work. Edit: I may have found the problem. Even though I have the older version of SexLab uninstalled it's still starting up in Special Edition. How do I completely delete the old SexLab? It's not in Vortex but it's still loading. I should probably delete every mod, but nothing is permanently deleted somehow. It's saying they're still in the game. 1
tasairis Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 That... doesn't make sense. It's not possible to have two versions of SexLab installed. Are you trying to uninstall it? If you installed through Vortex then you uninstall through Vortex. That's all there is to it.
Dragolfy Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Welp I tried at least 5 or 6 different tutorials on how to fix this and nothing works. I don't know what else I could do. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what. I looked on FAQ's and stuff and that didn't help either. Can someone show me the proper way to download and install, maybe through screen sharing? Or I could show my screen to see if my stuff is correct. I have Discord for screen sharing. I know this is weird, but I can't learn from just reading. I need visuals to see what I need to do to fix it. All the other tutorial vids are outdated and there are no SexLab tutorials using Vortex. At least I didn't see any. Is the mod file just named "SexLab.esm"? I'm really sorry about all this, I just can't seem to get it to work. Edit: should I try uninstalling SkyrimSE and then reinstalling?
leyre Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Dont use that piece of shit called Vortex, its even worse than NMM
Haxzorw Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Not fixed yet? I am having the EXACT same issue... 1
Kristus Kringle Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 This happened to me on MO2. Go into Steam Library, right click on Skyrim, properties, local files, verify integrity. I think I had to do it twice, IIRC. Open the game with Steam, close it, then try to open with skse. If that doesn't work then verify all your mods are up to date or match versions with whatever version of skse you are using. I can't remember the exact steps because I was figuring it out as I went.

I got mine working with the BETA version. Thanks.
Voccio Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I really need some help here, I bought the special edition through Steam, I've followed all the install tutorials and got I think all the peripherals I need, Script Extender, FNIS, and I'm getting the same message, 'outdated or skyrim install detected' I'm using Nexus Mod Manager, please help. 1

anjenthedog Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 very simply put, it means that the version of skyrim you're running doesn't match with another component, the current version of Skyrim SE is (afaik) 1.5.97, and it's corresponding SKSE64 is 2.0.17. All the other mods that depend on these two must be compatible with the two components I just identified. if something isn't right, it flags it with the "wrong version" error. And in this case, it's telling you that whichever mod is initiating this error message is expecting a more recent version of Skyrim SE than you have installed.
crazydirtyjoe102 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 i now also have the same exact problem as dragonfly
Just Don't Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 41 minutes ago, crazydirtyjoe102 said: i now also have the same exact problem as dragonfly You're likely trying to use the Sexlab version from regular Skyrim. If you want things to work you must ensure all your mods are compatible with Skyrim SE. So check the forum sections and grab the proper files from the SE sections or dedicated threads compiling the SE mods (like the blue links in my signature). 1
Tizon Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 There's too much IT programming jargon in this. I have the exact same problem. For most of us who arent programmers trying to play Lovelab, getting all the right addons that matches the version we have from steam is a nightmare. If someone can package all the latest versions that works, I'd personally be happy to pay them 20 bucks and I am sure many others would. Sorting through all the programming mine fields and pretending I know what is going on is crazy. For most of us these things aren't straight forward. 1

All you need to do is read the file name, title of the mod, description, section of the forums/download you're in. Read. When a mod is for SE (if that's version you have in Steam) that info will be there, it's not like people are keeping that as a secret. You just need to check the available information. If you have any doubts in the process ask, but asking for a one click solution or shortcut is not the way. It's simply not going to happen.
Aylis Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 @Tizon 1. You have to read a lot (or find videos). There is simply no way around it. 2. Read the description of the mods you install. Often enough they contain instructions you have to follow. 3. Find a guide/modlist. The authors of those spent a lot of time so others can have a nice game. 4. Again using a guide also means to actually read it. Often enough there are instructions how to use the more complicated parts of it. 4. If you found a guide ask questions if something is unclear. There are a lot of people willing to help (at least here on LL).
