(Solved) Game crashes upon scrolling through armor bench

I went & downloaded many new armors & weapons last night from here & Nexus like Armored Leotard, HN66s SIRIUS.12 Assault Suit, etc and the mod Armorsmith Extended. Went to bed without testing each mod individually & woke up today to try them out and because I couldn't get IN-GAME ESP Explorer, I went to the bench to craft the new gear & scrolling down the options in the armor bench crashed my game. No idea why as I have all of my new mods required files. Can upload logs if that helps or not, but any suggestions on why it would crash? Should also mention some strange things I noticed like the Nanosuit mod missing the ass part of its armor in bodyslide (not textures, the actual mesh itself) tho I didnt even see it b4 it crashed.

One of your mods has missing texture files. That's causing the crashes.

The only way to check this is to turn off some mods until it stops crashing, then narrow it down to the offending mod.

 

Likely you can re-install it to get the texture files where they need to be.

I tested a few so far by going into the weapons & chem bench & all of them that fall under those 2 work fine & dont cause any crashes. I was thinking Armorsmith Extended might be the one crashing it as its the only new mod involving the armor bench I got. Also I didnt have any of the new gear on me while opening the armor bench & the leotard from Armored Leotard is invisible. Asked the author where to find it in BodySlide because it wasnt showin up for me even with the files in the right places but he/she hasnt answered yet

UPDATE: Yep I confirmed Armorsmith Extended was the issue. I uninstalled it & the compatibility patches 2 armor mods had for it & now it doesn't crash anymore.

It's more likely that this was caused by one of the compatibility patches for Armorsmith and not the framework itself.  In my own modding, I've seen this during testing - when/if the apparel item's world object is not created properly, the game will crash when attempting to render it - either in the armor bench preview scene or if the item is dropped in the world itself.

From reading your other thread in the Non-Adult request section, you need to update your game if you plan on using updated mods. Armorsmith Extended requires Armor & Weapon Keywords, and if you are running on an outdated version of Fallout 4, it will crash your game as they require an updated version of Fallout 4.

 

So update your game, delete the CC content from your data folder (like AWP3RATOR showed you in the other thread) and then you'll be set. Get an updated F4SE, make sure your F4SE mods are updated as well and if you don't want to see the CC in your menu, download CCCleaner. It hides all the CC content in your main menu so you don't have to see it.

 

There's no reason to keep running on an old version (especially before the CC was introduced), as it will just cause you problems if you try to use newer mods. And it makes it harder for us to troubleshoot your issues when you have an outdated game while mostly everyone else is updated. Plus you'll get to use your ingame esp explorer. There is no downside right now to updating. Pretty much all F4SE mods have updated already so just deal with the CC stuff like mentioned above and you'll be good.

I can use AWKCR on 1.9.4 easily as they dont actually require the newest version yet, tis why i can use Devious Devices for FO4 as well as other mods with AWKCR patches. Havent updated SSE for the same reason as FO4 & it works fine so until more SexLab mods I can't live without get converted to SSE (SD+, ME, Devious Devices, etc) & FO4 gets more flushed out lewd mods too, am gud on the versions I'm at. Plus I still like givin Bethesda the finger by not lettin their CC shit anywhere near me. Also even tho the console is annoyin in FO4 unlike Oldrim, it still works & I can always craft the stuff too.

 

No idea why AE gave me problems anyways as others weren't reporting issues with the authors AE patches & neither the armors nor AE explicitly require the newest version of FO4 so am askin the authors but I doubt they will answer anytime soon

Another update: So the reason AE was crashing my game was because apparently my AWKCR is outdated. Will update it & reinstall AE after making sure they do work on older games too lel

yes if you are using a new version of armorsmith always check if AWKCR is updated same goes if your using Weaponsmith extended they always use the latest version of AWKCR

You can only use AWKCR & Armorsmith Extended together if they both at the most recent versions. Uninstall both mods if you have older ones & install the newer ones & it should work. Least it did for me
