Hi, first one : great job !
two : I have one little bug. In the What She Deserves quest, after talk to Xy... in blue palace, she take my potion, it's totaly normal, but after nothing, no action, I lost the control of my character and nothing.

And I have no idea for what...

Do you have performance issues with other mods?

Are you using SE or LE?

Well, I found my save from times when Blending In wasn't done yet, managed to load it despite difference in installed mods (miracle in itself), and tried to go through quest, part with Holden - several times. There was usual hickups of Skyrim being Skyrim - somehow, 27 managed to get locked in cage one time, which, I suppose, broke something else... One time I managed to break "follow Holden to cage" package. Otherwise, all interactions went good- either sex ones, or "[refuse sex]".

Now that I resfreshed my memory - let's get to bughunt. All animations, if they are done at all, are done in straitjacket. Which is, technically, heavy bondage, but 1. doesn't have any dedicated bound animations, 2. actually works for sex scenes as no bondage at all. This means, that my first patch for DDi animfilter didn't touch it at all, second switched to "broken as intended", and only third restored to working (possibly).

So - make sure you are either using my latest DDi animfilter patch (05122019 or 05122019 heavy), or no patch at all - and keep logs in case of suspected bugs ?

@DeWired Earlier I had tested the sex scenes during Blending In with both your 05122019 and 05122019 heavy patches,

 

After trying several times with Hervis and Holden, my character wearing a Panel Gag with Holden, I didn't experience any animation issues. Just had vanilla SexLab anims as expected with Straitjackets and since Panel Gags still allow for oral sex I would get those animations as well.

 

Even tried with Locked Away Chastity Belt with Hervis and Holden and 05122019 heavy patch with device filtering. Didn't matter with Hervis as he wants a blowjob but the filter seemed to work fine with Holden. Cycling through the animations I couldn't select any animations that had the"Vaginal" tag, the scene just used oral, anal and the odd foreplay animation with Holden.

I looked at your log and I don't see any errors from my mod, but I do see an alarmingly large log for a 8 min session. I see a lot of errors from something called Player Vampire and a few from SCC_Everfire which also seems to be related to the vampire mod.

1273 errors in such a short time can be a sign that your game is unstable. When you game is unstable it can have issues with starting scenes and my mod uses scenes a lot.

I suggest that you disable that mod to see if it's the cause. If it still doesn't work after disabling it, please share that log and I'll take a look at it.

Am I right to guess, that last dialogue lines were "I see you brought one of my favourite potions" and "Stay there"? After that, controls were lost, Xayah remained sitting on a chair, and after some waiting you tried to stop running Cursed Loot quests through MCM? If yes, it seems to me you have some package firing problem. Do you have any mods that modify Blue Palace interiors, maybe? Or - can you load this game, and look in console when it stops - does something happen there?

Read your next log. It looks better then previous - does it still stops right after dialogue?

Yes I try by CL, it's a fail and after I don't use this. No I don't have any mod to modify Blue Palace. In the console : Nothing.

Your log is cleaner now, but there's a lot going on in a game that we can't see.

Changing load order can cause issues for some mods and using a save cleaner is also risky.

Please start a new game and try that quest again.

A harmless, fun little moment I just noticed: I popped in to the shop on the way back to Whiterun after killing the first dragon. The Greybeards shouted their summons while I was inside, making the building shake. Laura and Katarina looked up at the ceiling in confusion.

 

On the subject of typos and text mistakes, I did notice one as well. When you ask Laura about the restraints, after answering her question about cursed traps, one of the follow-up questions you can ask her is, "Isn't is really difficult to escape?"

Not a minor mistake in my eyes. A bad dia condition can really mess with a quest.

It is something I thoroughly test so I should've spotted this.

I always run through old stuff before I release a new update. So I'll eventually test it again with these in my notes. Thanks for the report.

 

By the way, if you can/want, please test it again a few times. I want to make sure it's not an isolated incident. Skyrim tends to mess things up at random.

Yep, it's a thing. Of course, it is hard to encounter in normal playthrough - it requires doing one more Ademar swap to get rid of the gag, and waiting out Daubeny distraction scene somewhere far enough from Holden, so that's he doesn't catch you in force greet before scene is considered done and frees 27. After that - all her dialogues aren't available, so generic ones take place. To prevent this, all you need, I suppose, is copy gag dialogue, and switch text and condition for the blindfold.

But honestly, this as a bug? It reminds me an anecdote about turning over unturnable Hammer - you need to drive backwards at full speed, do a sharp turn, and hit a stop.... Absolute foolproofing is unreachable, because fools are unlimited in their foolery ?

I have a idea that could be used as a puzzle for a quest, or maybe as its own escape challenge if or both.


To start the player's character stripped of all their items & locked in a room wearing full bondage gear.  The key to escape this room is inside the iron vaginal plug that is locked into the player's character. 

 

First the player has to find a way to remove their blindfold/hood; like snagging it on something to pull it off.  After its removed a note drops out, this note is a short summery of how to escape the room.  From here the player has to find the individual keys to unlock the smaller items, such as;  iron handcuffs, ankle chains, gag & collar.  Until the player's character is just wearing the corset, gloves, boots, chastity bra & belt with plugs, & piercings.

 

Now the rest of the restraints are to be unlocked in a order, as each restraint has a key hidden inside of it for the next item.
Example:  Upon unlocking the boots a key is found hidden inside.  This key unlocks a strong box, which has the key to unlock the gloves.  After unlocking the gloves a key drops out of them for another strong box, ect.


After escaping the room the player finds a chest with all there belongings; as well as a reward for escaping the room, & a note with the offer to come back again.  Where it becomes a repeatable challenge.


Another way for for this to play out is to have a trap trigger while the player is out on a quest with Katrina or another npc.  Where both the npc & the player's character are locked into full bondage gear, & the key to unlock all the npc's restraints is whats locked inside the player's character's plug instead.  Or have the reverse; where the player helps to find the keys to unlock the npc first, so the npc can remove their plug which has the key to unlock all the player's characters restraints.  If Katrina is used for this then; upon arriving back at the store Laura could tease Katrina about it, similar to the end of quest Blending In.

That's why we didn't find it during testing. Thanks for clearing it up.

I do want to make it as foolproof as I can though, so I'll keep it in my notes.

That sounds interesting.

Ideas like this are really useful. I have most of the story already written down, but coming up with interesting gameplay for those quests is hard. A story is important, but we're still playing a game in the end.

There was a series of web games kind of like that (and kind of like DCL quest "Damsel in distress") when heroine starts out bound, and then progress using found keys, utilities and part of environment. There was several endings, beside generic good outcome, like getting stuck on some hook trying to undo armbinder and failing to escape slavery... Sadly, I don't even remember how it was called...  I did some googling and memory-tickling and remembered: http://aelie.altervista.org/ Escape Games by Aelie. Excellent ideas and pictures. Some of them, theoretically, can be translated into Devious Skyrim. Main problem, of course, is ability to repeat challenge - if it is strictly done, you beat it once - you know all there is to it. But to make it repeatable you need to create some pseudo-randomness - which is hard and can bloat one simple challenge for user into very hard work for modder.

I played around with it a bit and like you said, it's similair to Damsel In Distress. It can be translated to DD, but it's already pretty much like most DD content. There's only so much you can do when the player has limited options.

 

About using puzzles, I don't have a repeatable puzzle planned. It's seems impossible to make a puzzle with randomized elements. Unless I have a eureka moment, a repeatable puzzle probably won't happen.

I did play the one from BI about 25 times and it never really bored me. Even though I made the damn thing, I still sometimes forgot a step and that kept it interesting. I could make a puzzle without dialogue and then make the locations of things like keys random to keep it interesting. That could work, I think.
