I have a solution for the Doppelganger HDT hair issue! Change all doppelgangers to be bald and have a goatee. :)

j/k

But seriously have you thought of adding Dwarven Devious Cuirass as a mob? There is nothing more unhinged imo than the thought of this thing coming at you in the dark. Especially if you gave it combat sounds of someone screaming and crying in a gag. Like if the person trapped in it has no control and is terrified and in pain.

haha, that does sound creepy as hell, once I start adding other mods to this ( after getting permission of course) will definately talk to the mod author

Love this so far! My favourite part of the encounters I've had:

Spoiler

The climb up to High Hrothgar...

Spoiler

Lydia and I approached Karita. I was walking up to speak to her like I always do when I noticed her getting to her feet. I figured it was the time of day for her to stop meditating and head down to Ivarstead, then I saw the red dot on the compass. So, she's getting ready to fight or flee because there's an enemy about then, right? I ready weapons and wait to see what enemy is going to step out from behind a rock in the distance and suddenly I've been shouted on my arse. It took another fifteen seconds or so to realise she was the enemy, and not someone using the invisibility spell.

By the time I killed her I noticed that Lydia - who had been drawing most of the aggro during the fight - was nowhere to be found. Karita had shouted her off the bloody mountain. (She came back after waiting an hour though.) Loved that whole thing, as well as the two Greybeard ghosts further up. It was night and a full blizzard by the time I got to them. I could barely even see. Total carnage!

It's a known bug in Skyrim, NPCs start becoming invisible if they have HDT cloaks, hair, or other accessories. There's an SKSE plugin that mostly fixes it, but it's not on Nexus anymore. Might have to google a bit to track it down.

Oh so my vague memories were .. sort of accurate-ish. ?

I'll see if I can track down a link. Thanks for the info.

That whole mod deserves a quest line that thing is unlike anything I seen in Skyrim or any-other game...... But yes that coming to hunt you down and put you in one of those Cuirass... or wake up and find that one has been put on you with no good way to get it off..... Fuck who needs sleep after that.

That sounds cool as hell, but this mod is leading places, once the quest side hits, some quest will not open till your level 70, because, well you wouldn't survive certain things at level 50, I like the story your talking, but this is a little bit of a different path :)

that would be scary as all hell... glad you understood me,i was really drunk when i wrote that.

i would never give that idea to mod maker if i was sober....damn.

Thanks for that! ? I was having no luck finding it.

Did some quick testing and it seems it -may- only work for followers. Not entirely sure. It didn't have an effect on my first test. But there's an .ini with some settings, I'll play around with them later and see if anything changes.

Please let us know if you make it work I am sending it to a few others as well, I have never used the HDT hair, or female character

Thank you for reducing the difficulty setting, from 10x your level, to 2x your level.

Now, as a soloist, I am willing to give the mod a try.

Also, without a multi-follower mod, it becomes a challenge and not just a suicide run. Even with followers, it can be challenging, if you disable the follower stat boosts, and disable auto combat heals, so they stay down while in combat when they go down. :D I use AFT personally, mostly for the horses to be oblivious, and to move followers from place to place, to give it the feeling of someone living in the places I "own".

For some reason when I go to riverside shack I find my doppelganger lying dead on the bed and then the game immediately crashes ?

Had a bunch of bugs with my mod list.  Spent the afternoon trying to sort them out, with much cursing and swearing.  FINALLY get the game sort of working after many false starts.  Start up a new game, using Live Another Life.  I own property in a hold - Breezehome.

Thank you very much.  Uninstalling now so I can start over.

are you using HDT hair? tit is incompatible with the player doppelganger, which there is one there that ambushes you, also what is your race?

Also, what is your players sex, and are you using the regular version or the female version?

Oh.  No.  It was a bunch of mods doing who knows what.  You weren't responsible for the bugs.  You were responsible for one-shotting my first level character.

Okay, in all fairness I kinda knew that was going to happen.  However, making an auto-attacking Argonian essential is right out.  That's the one in Fort Greenwall north of Riften.  It's immersion-shattering enough when half the citizens of Skyrim turn out to be immortals, I shouldn't have to put up with this from the people I'm actually supposed to kill.

Adding variety and surprises to Skyrim is very good - it keeps the game fresh.  Making things challenging is good.  But I think you should go easier on characters that are just starting out.

Bugs are bugs, send the kitty into the computer to find them hehehe

essential enemies are a real pain, and especially difficult to get rid off, especially when you turn the said enemy, from a leveled list, into a follower, who then vanishes some time later, only to emerge with the follower tweaks added to them, making them unkillable... LOL Yes, I am guilty of that.

I am going to have to interject (and make a suggestion), to adjust things to create Leveled Lists, could be possible, but is also very time consuming. I personally don't know how to go about doing that myself. For me, it would be a small script, them it would break the compatibility between LE and SE. Tho, there could be "hidden" perks, that start off the player with a higher damage resistance, that is reduced to 0 in increments of 5 levels, That would give the starting characters a fighting chance. Something like, Level 1, damage reduction bonus +250, level 6 -50, 11 -50.... until the full 250 bonus is removed. I believe my level 30 character has a damage reduction from light armor, being close to 400 for damage reduction. (Manny Status mod) And with a little help, took down one of the Vampire Lords added by this mod. *note to self, get some cure disease potions*

I use the no hdt KS hairdo, I've used the Nord race, female. Tried it first with 2.1, then I upgraded to 3.1 female version, had similar results

Tried all the options in the .ini, and its still not working for me. What I haven't done is try getting enslaved to myself (?) and seeing if that fixes it. It seems the plugin is primarily for followers.

At any rate, it's no big deal. It's easy enough to update the Doppleganger via the console. Also I kind of like fighting an invisible self. The fight is even that much more challenging.

If a enemy is essential that is a mistake on my part, let me go in and take a look today, before I start anything else I will take a look at essential tags and change certain npcs to leveled enemies

Thanks for best skyrim laugh I have had in ages,,,  Jogging along, happilly enjoying the sun glinting of the wolf blood dripping of my sword when "Suicide girl says "aaargh".."  I stop to ponder what it all means when her body lands squarely on my "Girl" ..  Not laughed so hard in ages,, Thank you for that awesome moment and a few other chuckles I have come across since installing..

Laughing is a good thing and makes us modders feel good when people enjoy parts of our work, thanks for that

Heh. Just fought my first PC doppelganger. I now feel my enemies' pain. What a bitch... I think I earned enough skill points during the fight to level up almost three times, and I'm in the mid 30s.

Failed Hagravens, by the way. Good grief! The first one who ambushed me seemed to have unlimited fireballs to spam. Not good for a vampire! They look amazing too.
