Basically he scours the interwebs for interesting, odd, and often scary stories, very often directly people oriented. This particular short story talks about how it is the basis for a VERY well known song from the late 1990's called 'The Way' by Fastball.

Probably. On the Saturn V, and the fact that it was anything but perfect. Specifically, not ALL of the parts were tested. Sure, the bigger parts were heavily tested (engines, crew life support, etc., but every little resistor? Not a chance! This was the tradeoff required to meet Kennedy's 1970 deadline. As I understand it, one of those untested parts failed on Apollo 13, effectively ending the mission, and almost ending the lives of the men on board.
