Something I had in my mind for a long time. Don't know if it will work but oh well ...

Did you ever questionned yourself why Balgruuf doesn't remarry? I mean this guy is jarl of the most beautiful territory in skyrim, women should flock in his direction no?

That's an interesting question.

 

Lore wise she's not but when you think about it she is also not related to one of the two big families of Whiterun despite the fact that being chosen as a housecarl is quite an honor. Housecarls (free man of the house literally) are bodyguards of lords and would often serve as intendants or stewart.

 

So I took the liberty to imagine she came from another branch of Balgruuf's family, a cousin or a niece, someone who has no right on the throne of Whiterun but someone who received a proper education, has the right to eat at the Jarl's table and has access to upper functions through her uncle/cousin.

Also, gonna be that guy, but what body mod and thieves guild armor does Vex have? I'm guessing the armor is the Duelist armor?
