I just got the game and am having a hell of a time to get the mods to work. Downloaded it all, added it to the right folders and nothing in game changed. What am I doing wrong?

For people having trouble with mods. Take your time to read the begining of the post

"After update 1.07 game got VAC protected and great part of the mods stopped working, so either you downgrade to 1.06 or wait to someone update all mods.
Since game is now using VAC use it at your own risk."

 

With that said/read you have some options....

1. Downgrade your game to 1.06
2. Only use mods that were updated for 1.08+
3. Update the mods yourselves, it's easy but time consuming

The last time I played the mods that were sure to CTD were texture related mods, be it a Skin retexture or a costume retexture.
To update the texture you just need 2 tools. CTE (Cat Texture Editor) and a image editor (Photoshop,Gimp or Paint.net with their respective .dds plugins)
The process is simple

• Open CTE
• Drag'n'drop the .cat file on the left side
• Search the main texture (usually the body (DEFAULT ID 4)) and export. Keep CTE Open.
• Open that texture in your image editor and save as .dds (DXT1 no mipmap)
• Drag'n'drop the saved texture to the right side of CTE and click update
• Done that texture mod should be working now.

How do you downgrade the Steam version of the game? because as far as i can tell steam automatically updates games before you can play them.

and is there any indication on which mods are updated for 1.08+ or maybe a summary of the 1.08+ mods?

It was done through steam console. And then disabling automatic game update for SKPBS as far as I remember.
As for mods compatible with 1.08+ .

Look for the link after "For update 1.08+ →"

So far there were no reports of people being banned for use mods.
And VAC is directly related to ONLINE features, therefore it's not recommended to play online while using mods.

Okay, thanks for info... would s*ck if I got ban on something I spend like 600$ ... so if ill play online ill just replace modded with origo just to be safe

hi guys back on this game waiting the senran kagura 7even... i got skin hair mod, ayame apron mod, cards mods, invisible jetpack mod, and i'm looking for a topless mod for all outfit do we get that somewhere?

hum i tried the mod from estival versus but the game crash even with the low resolution (i changed all name to delete the L for exemple 00_00_L.cat to 00_00.cat) don't know where find it then.

edit :  it work on a diorama even hi resolution but in game it crash.

Once again, Estival versus mods use .jpg and .png texture so using it in PBS will crash.
PBS v1.08+ only accept .dds textures.
What you can try are BRN mods since they are already in .dds format.

The most likely reason is because BRN cat filhe have closeup animation on the .cat file (transformation closeup) and PBS don't use such animation so when the PBS try to read it the game engine does not understand and crash.

I'm assuming you are crashing when using this skin mod.
Since update 1.08 the game became incompatible with many mods the majority being skins.

Anyway I just converted the texture to .dds so it should be working now. I also added it to the OP.

I'm assuming this mod is also crashing your game since that's the best I can understand with Google trans....
If so, the author or any other user need to "patch" the mod. I'm not going to do it now since I'm going to sleep.

Edit:

I did some cleaning on te OP.
Basically created a Credits section and moved all the author under it, so now the OP feels a little bit "cleaner".

My game crashed when I pick Yomi's shinobi outfit.

 

EDIT: It also crashed when I picked Sexy Miko. Not sure about Renka's outfit since I haven't unlocked her. 

And the two uncencor cutscene packs and uncencor menu pic make the game crash as well
