Hi all, everything with sexlab seems to be working fine except one thing, and that is it keeps changing the player gender back to male and I can't figure out why. Anyone run into this or know where to start looking to fix it? Thanks!

Ā

Edit: I'm running AE, devious, yiffy. My current build has been working well for over a week, just not sure where this little issue is coming from!

If you mean that the player is Female or FUTA and the SexLab Gender become male each time get nude. Probably is the Mod you are using for the Gender of the Penis or the Pubic Hair.

Ā

Check the SOS MCM and all the other Mods that can do that.Ā

I've been trying to install Sexlab, using Vortex. When I use install from file, it seems to install, but no installer options show up, and Skyrim CTDs when I try to boot it up. FNIS reads Sexlab. I'm on AE.Ā

SexLab don't have install options for vortex or any other Mod Manager.

For the CTD check if your version of SexLab Framework is for your version of Skyrim and the SKSE.

I have been having problems, when I open up Skyrim and go into the game, I get a pop up for the SexLabUtil.dll file, saying it's not working, I tried to delete it and use a different downloaded one, but there was no luck, I'm on SE.

Can't help with the AE part, I'm still using 1.5.97. However, I use Vortex so maybe I can help there.

  1. I noticed you said 'install from file', that's fine as long as you're still trying to install the archive/.zip file and not any extracted files. BTW, you don't have to set the Vortex repository on your C drive, especially if you're worried about space. For instance, mine is in D:\...Vortex\downloads\skyrimse and I set up Vortex to point to that directory when looking for mods.
  2. What installer options are you looking for? There's no FOMOD.
  3. After installing, did you enable the mod? Doublecheck that the mod and the plugin are enabled.
  4. Did you run FNIS after installing Sexlab?
  5. Did you 'Deploy mods' after running FNIS?
  6. Try installing just Sexlab, FNIS and their requirements (making sure you have the right mod versions and skse, for your game version). If you don't CTD, then go to the MCM and you should see Sexlab and be able to click on it and hit the install button. You probably know this part but I said it anyway, ?

If "I'm on AE" means you are on the latest version, beware: there are TWO versions of SKSE64 available for the latest version- one for the Steam game (1.6.640) labeled SKSE 2.2.3 and another for the GOG game (1.6.659), also identified as SKSE 2.2.3. It's very confusing, I wish the SKSE team had given the two versions of SKSE64 different version numbers.

Ā

Recommendation:

  1. Find out which version your executable actually is (SkyrimSE.exe, right-click it, then Properties > Details)
  2. Re-download the version of SKSE64 2.2.3 that is for your version of the game
  3. Follow @Seeker999's advice (above)

As info, I've been using Vortex to install all 423 of my mods including SKSE64, SexLab, ENB Binaries, Part 2 of SSE Engine Fixes, etc.) for over 2 years and other than a missing feature (it doesn't parse BSAs for conflict resolution) it has been the perfect mod manager for me.

Again, @Seeker999is correct when s/he says there is no FOMOD- what that translates to is that there are no installation options with SexLab- so Vortex just installs it without any commentary or additional prompts because none are required. The only "tricky" part about installing SexLab is getting the right versions of the requirements. Other than that, you can just drag the downloaded SL archive (and the SKSE64 7z archive as well) into Vortex's "Drop files here" box (it's on the Mods tab since it seems that you may not have noticed it since you are using the "install from file" sequence of clicks instead of the drag-n-drop feature).

Just quick question, why exactly will SE version no longer be updated?

because se does not exist anymore, everyone is getting forced to use the ae exe

Downgrade patcher exists, as far as I'm aware, most people still play and mod 1.5.97. Steam doesn't even try to auto-update my game anymore, so I can be in online mode on Steam and still play SE.

The page says there is an update for the new Skyrim version 1.66. However, when I click on downloads it shows 1637 and 1657 but not 157 for the Skyrim update.

Ā

For Skyrim Special Edition (1.5.97, aka SE) use SexLabFrameworkSE_v163.7z

For SkyrimĀ SpecialĀ Edition (1.6.640, aka AE) use SexLabFrameworkAE_v15.7z

I have a question... Can I run it on GOG version?

I tried yesterday, SKSE error: incompatible version, on sexlab, papyrus, and racemenu.

Running the version of SKSE compatible with those mods, rejects the GOG version of Skyrim.

Ā

Still looking for a way past that.

you have to find a way to downgrade your GOG version.

I don't find any...

Yeah, GOG usually has a bunch of version options for every game, but skyrim SE does not, there's only one version to pick.

I guess we will need to wait untill one of the teams involved updates something to solve the "incompatible version" spiderweb.

problem is steam had a 11 year head start so it's the version that most people will have, i don't think the gog version will ever get much support due to it having such a small market share.

I'm surprised people are buying the gog version. Thought all those who would want to play Slyrim now would have it on Steam...

For me, I didnt own the anniversary edition anyway, GOG launched at a huge discount, and I was thinking GOG's version locking would be very nice with modding, I had steam fuck up my mods for me more than once by upgrading randomly.

Very surprised that the GOG version of skyrim is a different build version from everything else, that's not a problem I had expected to run into.

I respectfully disagree- "SSE" (meaning game version 1.5.97) is not only still in use by many players (as evidenced by various posts saying just that here and on the Nexus) but it is still supported by many mod authors- I ran into one the other day on the Nexus that released a new version for "AE" (game version 1.6.xxx) AND at the same time, back-ported the new version to 1.5.97 in recognition of the continuing popularity of that version.

Ā

I think the sudden arrival ("PLOP!") of the non-AE GOG game is further testimony to the need of many players to get the hell off of Bethesda's "excuse us while we break your game without your knowledge again" insanity. Also, at least so far, I have not found any mods released solely for 1.6.xxx games that contained anything I want, but of course, YMMV.

Just wondering if there’s a known list of bad actor mods that interrupt sexlab scenes.

Ā

I’ve started a new game with mods I used to use without issue, but now when a scene gets going through YAMETE KUDESAI it will often stop as soon as the players are aligned, as though something is triggering a scene end event. Ā Don’t have my papyrus log on hand right now but I could get it.
