Vylade Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I don't know anything about model creation. I was wondering if it is possible to export a character from inside Skyrim to some format that will allow me to see the entire character model in blender or something. So, not just have the hair model or body, but all of that plus everything else. What do you guys think? Any advice or any tips or knowledge you can share?
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Wasn't sure which one this belongs in, plus I wanted more hits ^.^
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Anyone can help? Still looking for some advice.
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Okay, I did. That's cool. I'll check this out further later. Anyone else got any ideas?
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Hm. It doesn't look like it tips the model with its bones intact, does it? If so, that'd be perfect. If not, I'm gonna need to find Bother way I think. I have no idea how to make bones.

For models with bones you'll need to unpack game resources. Good luck in googling, bacause all games have their own method of packing stuff.
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Fuck, well whatever then. I have no clue about using unity engine or blender for 3 D modelling, really. I wonder how hard it is to make the bones from scratch...
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 To give some context, I'm trying to take one of my Skyrim characters and transfer it into VR chat. For that, you need a working bone structure with the model. Not to mention other things, like blinking eyes, physics, all that.
Azazellz Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Your "character" in skyrim - it's only an "armor", what he wears (even when he naked, because naked body also counts as armor in terms of game engine), plus head with hairstyle (which can be exported via Racemenu or ECE). Armor and head already have attached bones, so good luck.
Azazellz Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Oh, and I'm sure that someone already had to make a guide about "How to port Skyrim's stuff to VRChat", especially considering the hype that got around this "game".
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 How do I export the "armor" and the head with bones attached? Wouldn't the race mention preset just be some text file or something? Or is there a completely different button for exporting the entire thing in racemenu? I don't have immediate access to my game right now, btw.

Alternative to RaceMenu. 1 hour ago, Vylade said: How do I export the "armor" and the head with bones attached? Wouldn't the race mention preset just be some text file or something? RaceMenu (mod) have a feature to export head geometry as separate file. Just open "showracemenu" during game and find button which does this. ECE also have such feature, but it require additional plugin. Well, now I figured, what you have almost zero knowledge about 3-d modelling and all related stuff, including Skyrim file structure and file formats. How you suppose to port things from one game to another with such a poor knowledge of the basics? It's not just "copy-paste", it's complicated process.

What you'll need Edit The latest version of the VRChat SDK which you can find HERE The version of Unity you want is version 5.6.3. It can be found through THIS PAGE under the 5.x section Afterwards, you'll want to patch it to 5.6.3p1 A Mixamo account A VR Chat account This Gingerbread Man [The one pictured in a lot of the pictures below no longer seems available] Recommendations/Requirements Edit If you see a model with two variations, a High Poly and Low Poly version, always choose the lower poly variant. This will inevitably help you in meeting VR Chat's polygon requirements when you go to upload your avatar. that crap is for you, have fun failing like the one that don't know why his vrchat avatar is stuck in t pose (no vrchat weight on that mesh i bet)
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 I'm not stupid, I think I can figure it out eventually. The thing is, I just don't have technical know-how. I can easily look up tutorials for the porting. I've already watched the entire video of this: https://youtu.be/7P0ljQ6hU0A Even though that video is based around the MMD file, I'm optimistic about it working similarly for Skyrim models or if I can convert it to a different model type. Really, I just need to know if something is possible. I don't wanna waste my time trying to figure out something that can't even be done. I just wanna know if it's possible and from there I know I will somehow figure it out even if I gotta learn all about bones and shit. To that end, any advice you could give me about anything, is appreciated.
Vylade Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 You don't need to be so negative, seriously. I'm trying to learn here. You don't get anywhere if you don't even try. I thought this was the technical support forum? That's what I'm trying to get. Thanks for those links, btw, but I have a feeling they're not gonna help me. I'm not trying to create some shitty t pose MMD avatar.

"VR Chat's polygon requirements " restrictions on what can be upload? what do they do if you upload pirated skyrim stuff there?
Azazellz Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 1 hour ago, yatol said: what do they do if you upload pirated skyrim stuff there? Since I've seen "pirated" stuff from Dark Souls or Final Fantasy in some VR-Chat vids - they have no restrictions about it.
Vylade Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 Wow what a buzzkill. Btw VR Chats poly limit is 19999 so idek if a Skyrim model will be anywhere close to that. Its something I'm gonna figure out along the way.
Vylade Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 Also, I was assuming that people in skyrims technical section know more about skyrims models and file types than people from vrchat.
Azazellz Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 1 hour ago, Vylade said: VR Chats poly limit is 19999 Well then I have bad new for you. UUNP body have 13k triangles. CBBE 6.5k. And it's only body, without hands. feet, and head. Oh, and hairs from KS Hairs pack have from 5k triangles up to 26k, and even more =)
