So with all the good mods coming out iv wanted to play this game again. upon starting iv come across a problem, no character show up on my carriage. like not even the plague doctor and vestal that are supposed to show up the first time you get to the hamlet. i was wondering if any of you know how to fix this. id rather not do a fresh install because re installing all the mods i have would be a pain. thanks in advance

And it repeats or you only tried once? Do you have a mod that changes stage coach? I know one from nexus, but it's old and it can cause issue, others that force a class to be on roster may be an issue too.

 

Another thing to try is: on DD main folder open campaign\town\buildings\stage_coach\stage_coach.building.json (as notepad) and below "number_of_recruits_upgrades" change only the amounts to +1 or +2 on each (i.e. if it's 2, change to 4), it should increase available heroes by the added amount, don't add too much or it can crash. Only Plague doctor and Vestal should also be under "first_hero_classes".

A small update on my stuff. 

Thanks to awesome Kensou the "Loading Screens" mod now supports localization AND doesn't need any DLC to work. Hooray! Later this month I plan to add screens for Weald.

 

Also, I finally got time to mess with trinkets.

so i just tried it, new file and everything, and i got past the opening and then i went to recruit the doctor and vestial and they just werent there. i dont think i have any mods the affect the stage coach except like to change the npc picture. ill upload the .json, i dont know if there somthing wrong in it or if its another problem

 

EDIT: could it have somthing to do withy the buchers circus. i havent played since that got added, did that change anything to the stage coach?

When you get pass the first level, did the game crash and had to re-start to get to the hamlet? cause if thats the case, I think the game might be trying to load a mod that edits things in the Hamlet that doesnt exist, which could be the reason that nothing is showing up for your stage_coach, cause i had that problem before, it might be something to do with your mods, but thats just me, and i am no expert on it

The butcher circus dlc actually changed some stuff in the game, that is why the most probable cause is an outdated or conflicting hamlet mod that is getting fucky with stage coach like funtoon said. Is it that both classes don't show, or nobody shows? I also read about a class that forces itself to be on recruit roster instead of getting a town event, that could also be it.

 

You can also try starting a clean game first (all mods disabled), and then start your mods after entering the hamlet for the first time.

 

Make a safety copy of your json and try using this one, i have way too many class mods and it would take forever to get them all.

hey that basically fixed it (i get a choice from a whole lot of classes right after i get to the hamlet rather than just the mandatory 2, but thats a plus in my book) thanks for the help with this you are awsome

Just... Be careful with the roster limit, the most i upgraded was to 38, if you get too many the game might not like it and crash on hamlet again.
