The prophet don't have one so it's using the same one that the necromancer for now. Actualy, could someone make a copilation of bosses skins we have for now? to make easier for people (and me ?) to find?
Saber2th Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 (edited) I'm quite sure where I got this NSFW edit for Harlot from so I'm not sure who the original author is, but there was this really annoying white seam between the crotch and thigh area in the idle and combat animations that were really noticeable in dungeons. I'll make that port myself once LL unfucks itself to a playable state... or releases new lactation content and I HAVE to make another run. There isn't a good replacement for the Crew themselves, but you 'might' be able to get away with replacing the Anchor guy with the Drowner. Not too sure how one could get away with that animated binding sprite, but it's... conceivable. Oh, and the Darkest Dungeon is just off limits. I looked and in none of the steam or folder files are there any replacers for it which is weird. Anyone have good ones? I'm talking about the ones on the map not the art ones when you select it.

I'm thinking about making my own mod for it but I currently don't know how I would animate my models and would like to know beforehand if it is futile or not to learn that stuff.

I mean, it's possible, but you have to gEt CrEaTiVe with your character design as the theme is not very... developer friendly. https://www.nexusmods.com/darkestdungeon/mods/1004?tab=description I suspect most people prefer to target more 'normal' dungeons first... and then get burnt out somewhere around the Warrens.

Basically, the enemy and area is very gory and is where the Lovecraftian stuff really shows its head. You don't have much to work with since its all flesh and tentacles and nothing really, well, pleasing to the eyes really lol. You'd have to basically anthro the enemies if you wanna make something of them, and the boss? Same thing, since its just flesh with eyes. Your best bet is to make the hard stuff more human in shape.

Mud Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 On the topic of enemies from the actual Darkest Dungeon, I'd actually been thinking that the Cultist Priests, being all obscured until they attack, are just begging to be replaced by a trenchcoat flasher. But I suspect motivation to replace any of these things are low because they make up such a tiny portion of your gameplay. The literal endgame, whose befouled halls you cannot explore multiple times... Few players will see them for any significant length of time, and on top of that, testing your work to see if everything functions properly is a huge pain as well unless you have some kind of cheat mod that lets you quickly get strong heroes to send in there. Hard to justify the time investment like that, I reckon.

It's on-model with the original design, so it doesn't take full advantage of such, but does use that concept. And the Offering gets replaced, too. She's even MORE on-model.

I have tried two different methods, the first is using the technique I read on this thread (rename the atlas & skeleton files but leave the names of the pngs untouched). It works fine for monsters but for classes it only seems to work for about half the images (basically working for everything except the attacks & fxs). The other method I tried was to rename everything and actually go into the atlas files and change their target png. Both of these methods had the exact same results; everything works except the attacks. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated because I'm just stumped at this point. Also a side question; does anyone know of any good class and/or monster creation guides. I've done some experimenting but need some help fine tuning. I got my class to work but none of the text is displaying properly.

It's not just the .Atlas that specifies the .png name, it's the Skeleton too, and you can't just rename it without converting it... Twice! Localization files are scary and I can do nothing with them. However, posting the official instructions has helped people in the past... somehow. Strings and Localization Steam Workshop Copy any or all XML files from the game's localization folder to your mod's /localization folder Make changes you need to the XML files in your mod's /localization folder Run the steam_workshop_upload.exe with your project's uploader XML. The steam_workshop_upload should run the localization if necessary. Third Party Mod Uploads Copy any or all XML files from the game's localization folder to your mod's /localization folder Make changes you need to the XML files in your mod's /localization folder Copy your localization and, if you've modified it, colours folder to the game's directory In the game's localization folder you should see a localization batch file. Run it to generate the .loc file containing all of the game's strings. Copy that .loc file to your mod's localization folder All users that download your mod will now have all new or modified strings. Third Party Mod Uploads (Alternative) Copy any or all XML files from the game's localization folder to your mod's /localization folder Make changes you need to the XML files in your mod's /localization folder Set the upload mode to 'dont_submit' in your project's uploader XML Run the steam_workshop_upload.exe with your project's uploader XML The localization for your mod will have been compiled and will now be included in your mod's localization directory. If you just want to alter the localization for your ow use, drop all the edited string_table.xml files into your base game's "localization" folder then run the localization.bat file in the same folder. Simple at that. It will read all the string_table.xml files in there and compile them into usable .loc2 files. If you change your mind later, just remove the edited string_table.xml files from that folder and run the localization.bat file again.

The harpy will probably get released to the public at some point (I think only the drawing is done right now, it still need some animations and obviously a whole new class to code).
